Your home away from home outside the city. This new spacious 3-bedroom retreat features one queen bed and two king beds, giving everyone plenty of room to relax. Each bedroom includes a refreshing ensuite shower, and with an additional half bath, mornings stay easy and convenient.

Surrounded on 3 sides by the LBJ National Grasslands, the property offers unmatched privacy, clean and refreshing air, peaceful quiet, and a scenic backdrop that shows exactly why we all love Texas. Whether you’re unwinding after a day of exploring the outdoors or settling in for a cozy night inside, you’ll enjoy the perfect balance of comfort and style. Heating and air conditioning keep the temperature just right, and the wraparound porch and cozy fire pit add the perfect finishing touches.

An hour away from Fort Worth and 45 minutes away from Texas motor speedway, Explore downtown Decatur only 25 minutes away to enjoy the small town atmosphere.

The house was so comfortable, they thought of everything you need for a wonderful stay. Communication with Dinah, the host was effortless and easy and well informed. Very comfortable beds, on a cloud feeling! Will for certain stay again.

This is a beautiful property and the host has thought of everything! From having cold water, coffee, spices, hygiene products available to creating really comfortable and beautiful spaces- this home is top notch and the property is very peaceful. Highly recommend!

This property looks to be a family home & we were so excited our family along with our son’s fiancé & son’s gf got to share this wonderful home for the weekend. The grounds are quiet & peaceful & we saw cows, deer & lots of birds. The living room was perfect for all 6 of us relaxing & watching tv. The kitchen has everything you could imagine needing & both boys cooked a meal for us (it was my wife & my 27th anniversary). The pantry (with a wine cabinet & even a margarita machine) had items to use although we pretty much brought everything & the refrigerator had items & we tried to leave additional things for the next guests. All 3 bedrooms had extremely comfy beds & were very spacious & the bathrooms were wonderful & filled with extras in case we had forgotten anything. All in all, this is a hidden gem VRBO that I’m quite sure we will be coming back to visit. Thank you for sharing your home & past memories with us as we made new ones as a family

The Lucky Penny is on land that was purchased over 30 years ago by my father. He was a true country boy and having his own place was his dream.

"The Lucky Penny is located on the site of Audubon, Tx. in Wise County, Texas. A historical ghost town, settled in 1865, named for naturalist John James Audubon, which thrived as a small community before declining after the railroad bypassed it in 1883, leaving behind historical markers and local history.
