Romantic Over Water Cottage W/ Screened in Porch.

Bedrooms 1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 1 Bedroom + Screened in Porch, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

Property Name - Bayside Cottage

A romantic get away is waiting for you on the waters edge. Come and enjoy this unique 1 bedroom that is perfect for couples or a small family. The cottage is located down on the edge of the lake and you will need to walk down the stairs to get there. It is not too bad, but if you have trouble managing stairs, you may want to rethink this location. Once your there you can tuck your self into your cozy double bed while the kids are sleeping on the pull out sofa in the living room. The beautifully appointed deck over hangs the water and is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or relax in the evening while the sun goes down. Fish from the deck or just watch the bobbers bounce from the sofa and then just reel them in! You will enjoy the BBQ grill that sits near by and can cook that meal right there. If you get too hot, just wade into the water on the stone steps that lead you right into the lake.

The new screened in porch outfitted with a wood burning fireplace and 50' monitor will provide a private place for you or the kids to watch that football game. The porch has its own separate entrance and is not connected to the doorway of the main little cottage, but is only two steps away. Enjoy the outdoor speakers as they play from your iPod over the lake while you dance under the stars. Wash the lake away in the Japanese shower room before settling down for dinner. It is all there and a perfect romantic spot right on the water.

If you ever decide to leave, there is always historic Hot Springs with the bathhouses, spas and live music at the Arlington Hotel downtown. The casino is open year round and the horse racing season starts in January. There are rivers all around and canoe rental trips are always a family favorite. Party barges can be rented on the lake and there are many float up restaurants that are wonderful.

For larger groups we have a larger property available at VRBO #312624.

Just sit back and relax at this cute cottage on the water

We needed some downtime and loved this cozy little cottage! Very peaceful. You feel like your in the woods but still close to town.

Loved this little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

You can't get any closer to the water at this darling cottage on Lake Hamilton. The cottage is small but functional and the bed was very comfortable. We would watch the geese flying over the water everyday. So much to do in the downtown area that feels far away but is only a 15 minute drive from the cottage. We will be back!

Its all about the view!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage sits right on top of the water and I am not kidding. It is a small space, but the view is worth it. We loved the new bathroom and the bed was so comfortable. We will be back.

July 2017 Stay

  • 1 of 5

Yes, we loved being right on the water, floating and swimming. However, and we were warned--we did not like the 50 steps down to the cottage especially in the HOT Arkansas summer. The screened in porch was not used much except to store our luggage---it was just too HOT even with the shades up. The main cottage (air conditioned) was way too small for two adults and two children and two dogs, and we were warned about the square footage also in description. One full side bed in a very small bedroom, one bath, one futon (which had no instructions on how to lay down and the sheets did not fit). The second day we were there the TV cable did not work in the main cottage so all we could do while staying cool was watch DVD's. The second bathroom was in the screened in porch and was very hot, and very dark when we tried to use that one. We only were left 5-6 towels for 4 people for 4 days.

We did no cooking but was very close to restaurants and did like that we could bring our dogs. With all that being said, we got what we paid for and were warned, however; we will not revisit this rental.

Relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our little dog and I spent 3 nights at this cute cottage. The location is awesome, right on a quiet part of the lake, but close to shopping and some great restaurants.

The air conditioners worked great. It was nice and cool in the cottage. The bathrooms were very nicely renovated and the bed was small for 2 people, but very comfortable with wonderful linens.

Our favorite place to hang out was the sleeping porch. It is a beautiful screened in porch with a fireplace that would be nice to use in the cooler months and a nice TV. The view from the porch is amazing.

We spent our days fishing off the dock, kayaking, and floating in the lake. We had breakfast at The English Muffin and picked up delicious catfish from Bubba's Catfish to Go. We went into downtown Hot Springs once, but preferred just hanging at the lake.

If you stay here be prepared for lots of stairs down to the cottage, and like every lake rental we've ever stayed at, there will be spider webs on the deck. It's part of staying on the lake. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come back.

Cozy and Perfect

Newly remodeled bathroom is darling! The bed was so comfortable. It is the best deck on Lake Hamilton that we saw during our stay. The owner also had just installed new LCD TV's for the tiny living room and bedroom. We will be back!
