St Germain Penthouse, Terrasse, Vue, Clim !!! (3 chambres)

Cet appartement de 140m² avec 3 chambres et 3 salles de bain, terrasse, balcons, vue sur St Sulpice et le Sénat, est situé à quelques pas de Saint Germain des Prés et du Jardin du Luxembourg. Il se trouve sur l'une des adresses les plus prestigieuses de Paris - l'élégante, calme, large et très sûre rue de Tournon (qui abrite également le Sénat français et la Garde Républicaine). L’immeuble ne compte que deux appartements dont celui-ci et tous deux appartenant au même propriétaire. Les étages inférieurs sont occupés par une galerie d’art ne recevant que sur rendez-vous.

L'appartement a été rénové avec l’aide d’un architecte d’intérieur talentueux utilisant des beaux matériaux : cuisine sur mesure avec piano Lacanche, plans de travail en pierre, poutres apparentes, parquets, robinets Horus, etc.

Les chambres donnent sur une courette. Elles sont très calmes.
L’appartement est plein ouest offrant beaucoup de lumière et de beaux couchers de soleil sur St Sulpice et les toits de Paris. De la terrasse, on aperçoit la Tour Eiffel au loin.

Climatisation réversible et chauffage central.

Pour des raisons de sécurité, l’appartement ne convient pas aux familles avec enfants de moins de 7 ans.

Un nettoyage quotidien léger (sauf le dimanche) est obligatoire et inclus dans le prix. Le nettoyage complet à la fin de votre séjour est également inclus.

L'appartement peut accueillir 7 personnes (la 7ème sur un matelas gonflable).

We were so happy with our choice of this property for our special family trip. We travelled with our three adult children and we were very comfortable. The location was superb. It is gorgeous and so walkable to major sites. The restaurants and shops nearby are high end, charming and tasteful. We loved hanging out on the balcony and in the beautiful kitchen. We were so sad to leave.

We were very happy with our stay and the owner was excellent to work with! Close walk to many famous sites. There are 3 flights of stairs involved getting up to the apartment but we knew that and just planned our day so that we left in the morning and came back in the evening. I liked the room arrangements and it was very comfortable for six people. With the laundry, refrigerator and full kitchen, it was helpful to make it a comfortable stay. We would stay there again in the future for the next visit to Paris!

Nice space in a great location

The process of renting this apartment was very easy and the owner was available throughout. The climb up the stairs was well worth if for the view, we watched the light show of the Eiffle Tower from the balcony. The location is great as well. 10 minute walk from Notre-Dame and 20 minutes from the Louvre. Really happy we found this place and would go back again.

Amazing location

We had an absolute blast visiting many top tier restaurants and shops in the area. Very safe and friendly area. English spoken by every place we visited. The three story apartment is fantastic and a fun place to stay. It’s important to note that the stairs aren’t going to ideal for families with young children or elders. For everyone else, it’s great!

Enjoyed our stay

It was our first trip to Paris and the location was great. Easy to walk everywhere and an easy commute to the RER/Metro for longer trips to Disney and Versailles Palace. There are great Gelato shops and restaurants Just a 5 minute walk away. Not many negatives. The apartment is clean and taken care of. We had our older son stay on the main floor (13 yrs) and our daughters and my wife and I stayed in the terrace bedrooms. They are pretty close but I could see it being an issue if the kids were younger. The stairs to the 2nd level are a little dangerous for kids younger than 6. Only negative I had was bringing my WIFEs luggage up the 75 stairs upping arrival

Thank you Michael for taking the time to write a review. If you hire the drivers on our recommended list to pick you up from the airport or train station, they will carry your luggage upstairs for you. Our caretaker is also happy to help. As we are the only residents in the building, bags do not need to be brought all at once and can stay in the entrance corridor on the ground floor until someone is here to help.

A lovely week in Paris

Three of us had a wonderful week in Paris. The location was perfect. Ludovic was available from the original booking to the day we arrived. He was most helpful in giving us information on a driver, etc. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, well equipped. We enjoyed having wine on the terrace daily before going out to our dinners.The only criticism is there are a lot of stairs, but after enjoying all the cuisine we didn't mind climbing the stairs. It was very important to have clear instructions on the apartment, address, and the neighborhood, which we received from Ludovic. Merci Ludovic!!

My family and I are delighted to highly recommend this very special property. When you’re traveling with family (two teen boys for us) it wonderful to have lots of space, amenities like washer/dryer and outstanding kitchen. We loved the spacious balcony overlooking the Republican Guard barracks, St. Sulpician and the French Senate. We dined out there and loved the sunsets. The decor is eclectic chic and we loved all the rooms. Be prepared for LOTS of steep stairs. We actually loved this aspect of our stay, as it helped us rationalize the grotesque number of calories we consumed! Seriously, for small children or disabled folks, this place probably is for you. The neighborhood surrounding is WONDERFUL. We got our return COVID tests at Pharmacy Devos —literally steps away! Mulot Almost as near, has the best baked delights I have ever consumed. Luxembourg Gardens nearby is a wonderful place to chill. We hope to enjoy another stay at this special property again next year!

My husband and I recently stayed at this beautiful apartment for three weeks in October 2011. Everything was very clean and in great working order. We loved having breakfast on the terrace, which was also a perfect place for a late afternoon glass of wine. When we arrived it was 80 degrees outside and when we left it was 28, heat and air conditioning both worked well. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the range was terrific. We had several dinner parties of 8 to 10 people and we had plenty of very pretty tableware to go around. All the bedrooms were comfortable, bathrooms and showers roomy although one toilet room was very tiny. Be aware that this apartment has a lot of stairs and is not appropriate for everyone! Location is central and within easy walking distance to most everything. There was a construction project happening on both sides of the building while we were there which was very annoying in the morning after late dinners out (it is Paris after all) but I believe it was slated to finish up soon.

Thank you Jackie and Tom. We loved having you and were also very impressed and honored to have Tom cooking in our kitchen! We also thank you for having extended your stay to our smaller downstairs unit. Besides those renovations from 9am to 4pm, indeed almost over, the street is one of the most quiet of Paris and the bedrooms all face the courtyard. Also you are on the top floor of the building so no one is walking on your head. As shown on the floorplan and some pictures, you have an interior staircase leading to the kitchen, terrace and bedroom 2 and another one leading to bedroom 3. Floors are not high and the advantage is that each bedroom is on a seperate floor allowing for more privacy.

Nice location but not worth the price

This is a decent property with ample space in the common areas. However, besides the kitchen, dining area, and one of the bathrooms, the place needs work. I have to give it a thumbs-down, mainly due to the owner's behavior. GOOD THINGS: -Location - St. Germain / Odeon, a great part of Paris. -Sound - The bedrooms are well protected from street noise so they are very quiet. -Kitchen/common area - Very nice and spacious. Great kitchen table with plenty of seats. -Balcony - A great place to eat/drink when the weather is nice -Caretaker - The local gentleman who tends to the flat is a great guy. He is extremely responsive and very courteous. NOT SO GOOD THINGS: -Price - Be careful when dealing with the owner. His ethical standards are less than acceptable. Prior to my rental, we had agreed on an all-inclusive (fees + rental) price of for 4 nights. When the contract came, the total was much higher and showed the rental for 3 nights. We actually stayed 4. Reluctantly, I agreed to the contract because I was in a hurry (already enroute to the flat) and assumed a refund would apply later. Sadly, that never happened. The owner manipulated the contract for two reasons. One, to guarantee a minimum amount of cash in his pocket (after VRBO's fees) and two, to hyper-inflate his average price received per night. Not ethical. Don't allow this to happen to you. The property is definitely not worth his advertised price! -Bathrooms - One has a highly sensitive "electric" toilet, a shower, and a sink. The second has a bathtub (no shower) and a sink, no toilet. The third has a dual-vanity sink, a tub with a shower handle that lies in the tub (no place to hang the handle), and no toilet. There is a water closet down the hall but it is tiny. Good luck maneuvering in there. Ridiculous. -Stairs - There is a spiral staircase inside the flat, from the 4th floor to the 5th. There is no guard/rail so it's only a matter of time before somebody falls and is severely injured. -Beds - Typical mattresses for Europe, hard and lumpy. Temperature - The loft bedroom on the 6th floor can get very hot because it has greenhouse windows. We were not able to turn on the air conditioning so it was unusable on our last night. Outside temp that day was above 27C/80F.

Very unfortunate review from someone who tried to extort money from us by threatening to post a bad review. Luckily this is the first and only time this has happened so far after 10 years of renting properties, constantly maintaining them to keep them fresh for our guests to have the nicest possible experience.

Dès qu'on est entré dans l'appartement, on s'est tout de suite senti bien ! C'est propre, chaleureux et surtout très grand pour Paris ! La grande terrasse est très appréciable puisqu'en pus orienté sud. Ludovic ou Choi sont toujours présents pour répondre à votre besoin. Bravo à eux pour le service.

Living like a Parisian!

Thank you for sharing your home with us and enabling us to live like a Parisian for a few days. An exceptional experience. The views - in particular, the morning sunshine gleaming off the church - from the top floor bedroom were magnificent. Morning coffee and evening wine on the patio was a treat. Hanging in the art-filled living room with the french windows was lovely. Great beds to sleep well and loved that we were in the heart but without the city noise. Fantastique

We never want to stay anywhere else. It was like a dream, a chic apartment on the best street in my favorite neighborhood in all Paris. The terrace was magical; the sunsets were like theatre. Close to groceries, metro, cafes. 10/10 fantastique!

Fantastic!

In the heart of Paris, close to everything and absolutely gorgeous. The little terrace is a gem, having breakfast or a glass of wine in front of St Sulpice and the sparkling Eiffel Tower is an enchantement. The owner is very helpful and responsive, everything is very well managed. Highly recommend this place, we will be back for sure!

Awesome location

Loved staying here! So much space, light and bright, fully upgraded, beautiful views, laundry and a/c in bedrooms, can’t ask for anything more! 5th floor walk up and steep stairs inside so definitely not for young children or the elderly though…

Very nice stay

Thank you Ludovic. My stay at your flat was mot comfortable. I really appreciated the care and responsiveness of the owner and of Choi who looks after the property. The property is marvellous and this is my favourite location in Paris.

Great location and living spaces

This property had a great location, with fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower, Saint Sulpice and the Senate building from the beautiful terrace. The living spaces and kitchen were pleasantly quirky, but excellent and worked very well for our group of 3 couples. We had rented the entire space - 3 floors - because of the size of our group. The bathroom situation was challenging, as there were only two toilets and two showers for the apartment. We made it work, but having the first floor toilet in a small closet outside the bedroom, and needing to have 2 couples share the second floor toilet and shower was a bit difficult. For a smaller group, it would have worked better I think. Also be aware that the apartments are 4 flights up a steep spiral staircase with no elevator, so not easy for those that are physically challenged! Ludovic was a pleasure to deal with, and helped us by recommending a great transport company to get us back and forth to trains, planes. We were very happy with our stay, bathrooms notwithstanding!

C'est Manifique

We had such an amazing experience. The apartment, and it's views are absolutely beautiful. Our favorite part was watching the Eiffel Tower twinkling light show at night from the front balcony. After seeing a great deal of Paris, we were certain we picked the perfect area to stay. The street itself is quiet, but all the bistros and shops are just a few blocks away. We loved it! Felt like real Parisians. Choi was awesome, and a big help, and working with Ludovic, the owner was a pleasure. The apartment is exactly as promised. Be aware, those stairs are no joke, so be prepared. Will totally stay there again when we go back.

We are a Franco-American family based in London, and spending time in Paris and Provence. Ludovic (French) met Olivia (American) during his graduate studies in NYC.
Ludovic began a Paris rental business ten years ago and we now also own three beautiful properties near St Remy de Provence.
We have been fortunate to have met wonderful people through VRBO in the last decade. An appreciation of a certain taste and lifestyle is usually something we have in common with the guests who pick our homes.
Paris and Provence are two places where our family is deeply rooted. We have put a lot of heart into making these homes welcoming and comfortable and we hope that we’ll have the chance to host you !
