Great location and property. Rooms recently updated and majority of overall property update is complete. Eagle Beach is directly across street and palapa are complementary for LaCabana guests. There is a grocery within walking distance for essentials. Bar prices are 8 for beers and 15 frozen drinks. Happy Hours 2-3:00 BOGO frozen 3-4:00 BOGO local beer and 4-6:00 BOGO about anything. Good for families, friends, couples.

We booked a slightly last minute stay (about a month out) for a family wedding and were looking to be close to everyone else, while staying reasonable on price. I was honestly a bit surprised at how big our room was, we had a bedroom, large bathroom, kitchen and living room, and a balcony. La Cabana overall has a tiki bar, pools, hot tubs, spa, casino, and so many other amenities. Our family was jealous of our hotel and room, compared to their own! We had a very good time and were able to enjoy many relaxing hours in our room and on the property. We are hoping to come back and stay at La Cabana again!

The La Cabana resort had many good features. The adult pool was great, as was the grill where we had a great breakfast each day. They provide a wrist band as a room key and for access to other secure doors. This was great as we didn't have to keep track of a room key. The location is great as it is right across from Eagle Beach. The staff was friendly and professional as well. The biggest downside was learning upon check-in that we would have to change rooms after 5 nights which required us to pack, completely check out and go without a room until the next one was ready. This wasn't clearly stated when we completed the booking and very frustrating. Our host called to welcome us when we arrived, which was very nice. However, I attempted to call VRBO to discuss the room change and was connected with a representative who I could barely hear and didn't seem to have anything helpful to guide us beyond reading from a script. Her rooster, however, came through the line loud and clear.

I contracted for a 7-night stay and was told to vacate my room after 4 nights. My 81-year-old husband and I had to pack up everything and drag our suitcases and other belongings to the front desk. The Resort manager said the VRO owner knew about the room change, but did not explain this to us

Unfortunately has additional fees that are owed when you check into the property - I hate that. Otherwise, great overall property and the individual unit is very nice. Small but with a king bed and a sofabed (with what I would consider a very comfortable mattress in the sofabed). Partial ocean view from the balcony.
