Welcome to the Sunny Seahouse. This Upscale beach home is just a hop skip and a jump from the ocean and West Cliff Drive a 3 mile long walk/bike path known for it's popular surf spots and numerous beaches. This newly renovated 3 bedroom 2 bath is situated on the sunny side of the Monterey Bay Sancutary. Guest are treated to a sparkling clean hot tub. We are 1.9 miles from Wilder Ranch State Park with great hiking and biking trails, 1.5 hour scenic coastal drive to San Francisco, 45 minute drive to Monterey & Carmel, just 2 minutes from local beaches. The Sunny Seahouse is available year around for nightly, weekly, and extended vacation rental accommodations.
Location, Location, Location...This oceanside getaway is the perfect retreat for a large family looking to experience all that Santa Cruz has to offer. Only a few blocks away from family-friendly Natural Bridges State Beach on the Westside home of tide pools and Monarch butterflies, local wineries, shops, organic brewery, french bakery/cafe, natural foods market and Dog/Kid-Friendly Derby park with Tennis Courts and Skate Park. Within two miles are the Boardwalk, Santa Cruz Lighthouse, Steamer's Lane, Wilder State Ranch, downtown and UCSC. Also just a short 1 hour drive to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium, 17 mile drive and Carmel.

The spaciously remodeled kitchen is ready for you to entertain in with beautiful granite slab counters, porcelin tile floors, custom oak cabinets, gas range stove, stainless whirlpool refrigerator, all new ocean theme tableware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, toaster oven, coffe maker, bar seating and dining table for 6 or more. The open floor plan from the kitchen and living room to the backyard makes bar-b-ques fun and indoor-outdoor entertaining easy.
The master bedroom with private bath has a calming affect with it's ocean decor, king size bed, flat screen TV and seating area to kick back and read a good book. The second bedroom offers a queen size bed and cozy daybed with trundle. The third bedroom sleeps four with custom built dual adult sized bunk beds, large closet with a TV, board games and toys to keep young guest easily entertained.
Sunny Seahouse provides our visitors with a library of local travel tourism books and catalogs for you to use during your stay. Including State Park Passes to make it easy and accessible to Natural Bridges State Beach and Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf Parking Pass. Ideal vacation stay
We adored this home. Beautiful location, new floors and paint, remodeled modern kitchen and baths. Comfortable sleeping arrangements. Ideal location on the Westside. Highly reccomend. Very nice neighbors too!
Ventilation is more than 3 Screens!
Location and number of beds is probably the best I can say about the Sunnyhouse. When first entering the residence, you are struck by the stale air which takes two days to air out. There are no opening windows in the entire width of the house, the front door does not have a screen, and the slider screen is missing. One of the bedrooms With the day bed and a queen has a window, but no screen. And, the middle bedroom with no windows is provided with a tiny fan only. The carpets are totally stained and there are runners covering all of the pathways. Not a great sense of sanitation. Loved the counters in the bathrooms and the kitchen which was well equipped except for finding a matching pot top. Last, clutter in the bunk room where there were supposed to be toys for our grandchild in a bin (but were not) was packed with stuff. The garage where wash can be done was packed to the ceiling with more stuff. Not appealing although it is not a living space. The grill was not clean when we arrived and there was sand on one of the hot tub seats. You are told these need to be cleaned before leaving. The bike cruiser for use in the garage was unusable. My husband worked on it to try to get some use out of it as we are a biking family. So overall, not pleased with the condition of the home, but for the money and the location, it was just fine. Kimberly was great and prompt in addressing a spa need. Thank you.
Needs some TLC
The location was amazing and the layout of the house was perfect for our needs. The equipment in the house however (outdoor fire pit, bbq, bikes) are all in very bad shape and need to be replaced. The garage was packed full of the owners belongings to the point where it was difficult to access the space for bike storage or laundry. The interior furnishings are old and tired and in definite need of replacing. For the price of the rental I would have expected nicer accommodation.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for the feedback. I have shared this information with the owner and we will take all comments into consideration. The furniture is relatively new, we will be getting new hardwood floors installed at the end of September 2017. And a new King mattress in the bedroom. The old beach cruisers are there for people that want to use them and we are considering replacing the fire pit. Otherwise most of the outdoor items do look more worn quickly since we are so close to the ocean the salty air tarnishes things very quickly. The grill is in perfect working order and we just replaced the outdoor chairs.
Very nice home close to West Cliff Drive. Our stay was very comfortable. The only issue with the house is that the master bed was uncomfortable. Other than that, the house was perfect!
The location of house was perfect but unfortunately it does look like the picture on the website.
The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and the master bedroom was great.
The house and yard needs some cleaning up. Leaks in the ceiling, broken patio furniture, old broken grills in the backyard, back screen was hard to open and the BBQ grill was dirty and had ants.
The day bed in the middle bedroom needs to be replaced. My granddaughter could not sleep in it because it squeaked each time she moved.
My other grandchildren slept in the bedroom with 2 bunk beds which I have some real concerns since there are no windows in the room and it got very hot for them. No air ventilation.
The rental manager responded to some of the issues in a timely manner.
With all the current problems I would not come back.
Thank you for your response and feedback. We are taking all comments and feedback into consideration seriously. The house is getting a new roof and hardwood floors installed at the end of September. The King bed mattress is getting replaced this week. We just replaced all the outdoor chairs and fixing the trundle bed in the guest room.
Right down the street from the ocean and close to the beach. This was our second stay at the Sunny Seahouse and we will be returning again. We love the house and highly recommend it. Several restaurants, breweries, and stores near by.
