"So, I'm not usually one for writing reviews (this is my first one) but wanted to make an exception here as my family and I had such a fabulous time. From initially requesting the booking on VRBO through to our arrival and the cottage itself everything was great. Kim is so easy to work with, and welcoming. When we arrived there were S'mores ingredients for the kids and treats for the dog. Kids were ecstatic! The cottage is adorable. The yard is PERFECT, especially as it is completely fenced in, and the beach is just down the road. Having arrived back home I think we've all put this vacation down as our best ever, Kim, Pam and their beautiful property played a big part in that. We will definitely be back!"

  • A pleasant stay in Portola Paradise!

"Everything was just right! The home was clean, organized, and in working order as described. Owner (Carol) was very prompt and detailed in her correspondence prior to our stay, making our arrival worry-free and departure smooth. For the convenient location you can't beat the price! We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it."

  • Clean and Accomodating

"We had a great stay at the Sunny Seahouse! We love this area for the Natural Bridges beach and the West Cliff Drive walk/bike trail. Just so scenic and we were a just a block away! We enjoyed the home with open beam ceilings and the white walls made it open and airy. We had family come and go during our stay and the sleeping accommodations worked well for our group of 8 adults. The bedding was not as firm as ours at home and the bunk beds had bottom sheets but no top sheets. One of the bunks was missing a pillow. The master bedroom was beautiful with a very nice, roomy bathroom. The 2nd bath is a lot smaller with tighter quarters for sharing. The linens were plentiful for both baths and kitchen. The kitchen had lots of dishware and glasses so we didn't run out of those. We also got to use the pancake griddle for the first time and it worked very well! Plenty of room for food preparation and the kitchen had the essentials. We used the BBQ a couple nights and it is older--a bit rustic and could use an update. We enjoyed the hot tub each night. It was very clean and hot when we arrived. It was a bit small for our size group, however. It can fit four adults but it is a bit cozy then. We really enjoyed the fire pit and recommend buying wood before you arrive. The back yard was okay, not quite as well kept as the pictures--just needs some cleaning up and replants and removing an old BBQ. Also, the great room furniture has been changed to a wicker indoor/outdoor set. It was adequate but not super comfy and we could not see the TV from a couple of the corner chairs while we watched the Summer Olympics. There was 2 sets of washers and dryers in the garage. We brought our own bikes but there was a bike and boogie boards and umbrella in the garage as well. I really enjoyed working with Kimberly, the property manager. She responded very quickly to our inquiries both before and during our stay. I recommend this rental and know you will enjoy your stay!"

  • Ideally located, spacious home with perfect owner

"The owner was excellent before we arrived in all her communication through emails and Whatsapp. We arrived late on a Saturday, tired after a long drive, to find the house not just ready but immaculately cleaned with fresh flowers and a hand written note of welcome. The property is spacious and easily accommodated two parents and two teenage boys. It is close enough to walk to the beach in bare feet! The beach itself is lovely although not ideal for body boarding. There are boards and bikes provided as part of the property which is a nice touch. The barbecue was in good order and clean. Who needs a hot tub in California? We did! Never thought we would use it but it was bliss to have a warm soak at the end of the day. The key thing to this property is the location. It is away from the tourist bubble of the boardwalk and is all the better for it. You bike west to see the town and West Cliff Drive or head East and before you know it you are in Capitola. This is THE place to be situated in Santa Cruz. Finally, the quality of the property is largely down to the way the owner deals with their guests and in this respect the owner, Cathy, was fabulous. Attentive, informative, helpful but never imposing. There is a reason why this property gets such a high rating!"
