  • Holiday in Capitola Monterey Bay paradise

"The Opal Cliff house was spectacular. This is a fantastic place to rest and relax with friends or relatives in one of the most sought-after locations in Santa Cruz County. The house sits on a cliff overlooking Capitola Village and sports a 180-degree+ view of Monterey Bay. The nights were crystal-clear while we were here at the end of 2016. We could see city lights all the way around the Bay from Pleasure Point down to Monterey Bay and everything in-between. The house features panoramic picture windows all across the bay side (three large rooms), with floor-to-ceiling views. There's even a small gazebo in back to allow for nighttime views without the winter temperatures and wind affecting your enjoyment, and an even greater feeling of being surrounded on three sides by the ocean. The kitchen was adequate and fully stocked. The beds were great - we slept wonderfully and woke up to the growing light of dawn in time to enjoy spectacular sunrises every day. Everything was in good working order and the owner provided great information and cell contacts for emergencies. This house has parking for six cars easily, and is a short 5-10 minute stroll down the hill into Capitola Village. That allows for dining out without any parking hassles. In the other direction, you have a level walk or run starting in the quiet Opal Cliffs neighborhood and then opening on to East Cliff Drive bike/run path with all the surfing magnificence of Pleasure Point. And you are also within walking distance of lower 41st Avenue: pizza, great craft brews, and surf shops. The location is wonderful no matter which way you want to go!"

  • Best location and beautiful home!

"My husband, two children and I spent a week at this piece of paradise. We spend a week in Santa Cruz every year. Troy and Liz's home turned out to be our favorite stay we've ever had and that's saying a lot as it was our 20th year in a row renting a home in Santa Cruz. There's many reason why we enjoyed it. The house had a very "beachy" feel to it and loved the outdoor living space. The yard is very spacious which is rare in this area. It's also located on a dead end street so very quiet and no through traffic! We loved the hot tub outdoor hot shower.....very nice to come back to after a day at the beach. And the beaches! We spent almost every day at 26th ave. beach which was a short 200 yard walk which made it easy to walk back to the house in case we forgot something at the house. All the essentials were there.....plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen, board games and a classic old piano! So many homes rental homes in this area can be older and run down so this was refreshing to have everything clean, updated and in great working condition. The neighborhood has a very down to earth, small town feel which is more relaxing then a lot of the areas we've stayed in before. We felt very welcomed by the surrounding neighborhood during our short stay. We will definitely be back!"
