  • Didn't Want To Leave!

"This was by far, the best beach house experience yet! The house was even better than the pictures. The living room was spacious and the couches were very comfortable. The Television was a nice size and cable was provided so you could watch your favorite shows. The kitchen was roomy and fully stocked. I loved that you could enjoy a meal at the table or sitting at the island. The half bath on this floor was bigger than you would expect and convenient when you didn't want to walk upstairs. The bedrooms upstairs were all a nice size and the beds were comfortable. The Queen bedroom had a television, plenty of closet space and double doors that opened to a small balcony with a fun view of the street. The Double bedroom was very bright and sunny. It also had lots of closet space and was the quietest room in the house. The bathroom on this floor was beautiful! Lots of room and a really nice shower. The Master Bedroom was spacious with ample closet space, a television, and a gorgeous view of the ocean. The master bath was roomy, and had a nice vanity with a stool for putting on makeup on one side and a nice high sink and counter space on the other. There was also a Jacuzzi tub/shower combo. My favorite, though was keeping the windows open at night to hear the waves crashing on the beach. What a treat! The third floor had a wonderful sun deck. Even on windy days, we were sheltered on this deck, so there was no need to sit on the beach and get sand blown in our faces. We just relaxed and watched the waves in warmth from the sun deck. This house is located on the best street in Santa Cruz. You walk out your door and are less than half a short block from the entrance to Seabright (Twin Lakes) Beach. There are so many places you can walk to from here. If you are like us, you can bring bikes and ride to the Boardwalk, Wharf, Harbor and lots of other places around town. Grocery stores and eating establishments are all within walking/biking distance, so you really don't even need to use a car if you don't want to. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we can't wait to go back again next year!"

  • Exceeded every expectation!

"Choosing a property based on photos, owner description, and reviews is always a risk...and we couldn't have been happier with the payoff with the bungalow on Lighthouse. From the initial contact with Alan and Brit, to very fair pricing, to the home being ready for our arrival after an 11 hour drive with two teens, our family's experience was perfect. The house is beautiful and retro-funky, comfortable, exceedingly well-appointed, and the location was absolutely perfect (minutes to grocery, restaurants, kayaking, the university, and Mission...and an easy walk to the Boardwalk, beach, and amazing cliff walk trail). Every detail made our stay 5-star: the kitchen has everything you need, the beds are comfy, the linens are quality, the washer and dryer are virtually new, you get off-street parking (which is huge), and the landscaping shows how much the owners care about the property...you feel at home, not like a "rental." Our kids rode the bikes provided, we grilled, there's DirectTV, a Mac computer in the master bedroom to help plan activities and get info about the house... I could go on. Cons? Honestly, none...maybe having one bathroom if you don't want to share. The bottom line is we weren't 5 minutes out of Santa Cruz before we started discussing retuning and staying at the bungalow."

  • Great house for family reunion

"This beautiful house was the perfect spot for our family reunion. Although the photos on Web site show that it is nice, they actually didn't do it justice. It had all that our family needed to really enjoy time in Santa Cruz--location, roominess, great kitchen, all amenities, pleasant decor... An ideal place for surfers, but also great for people who just want to relax by the ocean. Our dog liked it, too!"

  • Fabulous house in great location

"The pictures tell it all! This house is spacious and has its own parking for several cars (including two in the garage if you like). Our four parties came in separately with no issues, and we all enjoyed our space. You do have to love seagulls, which are pretty noisy early in the morning. The house was well equipped, and we had no complaints. I think it might be inconvenient for some renters to share the closets and bathrooms. The upstairs is a giant master bedroom, dressing area, and bathroom, plus an office with a bed and a toilet in a room by itself. Downstairs is a large bedroom with an attached bath. The fourth room opens only to the hallway. They share the bath and toilet. You can close everything off for privacy, but there may be logistics involved. You can walk down to the boats and from there to the beach, or you can go on the streets to the lighthouse. Everything in Santa Cruz is pretty convenient. My husband and I, our son and fiancee, our other adult son, and my husband's brother were all very happy with the place. Jason was responsive about the one issue that came up (an inconvenient light outage), and it was easy to communicate with him before we arrived."
