  • Wonderful Stay!!

"What a perfect little gem in Santa Cruz! We stayed for the weekend and couldn't have been happier with the beach bungalow. From the kid friendly outdoor areas to the cozy interior, we were so happy to have stayed here!"

  • Fun in Santa Cruz!

"This is our second vacation at this house. It is very spacious and bright. The kitchen has extra staples for cooking, the bed is very comfortable, and washer/dryer is conveniently onsite in the garage. The house is located in a great neighborhood, convenient to stores, beach/marina, and walking trails. Great communication. Good value, esp for Santa Cruz!"

  • Seated, unobstructed whitewater view!

"We were four 55+ family members traveling with our 93 year old dad. When traveling, his personal comfort is always top of mind. He opted to stay in one of the upstairs bedrooms closer to the tv room. That said, the first floor bedroom/bath would be perfect for most with limited mobility. It features a completely private bath with rimless walk in shower. Dawn even provided us with a shower chair for his use. The home is perfect in every way, others have commented on the perfect location, layout and abundance of amenities. One of the greatest features is the Sonas music system which has separate room controls and can also be played on the patio facing the ocean. Easy, breezy flip of a switch fireplace in living room and a fire pit ignited with provided fireplace lighter - couldn't be easier. Surfers 24/7 right in front of the home - (one day we counted 50 at one time)and even more surfers a short couple of blocks walk to The Point and The Hook. We observed both a 10K and a surfing competition during our stay. If you go - do your marketing at Shopper's Corner and visit Gayle's in Capitola for not only delicious pastries but also a wide range of delicious, fresh ready made lunch/dinner options. John, Dawn and Will were responsive and very easy to work with. We are grateful that John shared his beautiful home with us!"

  • Beach Glass House is an All-around Winner

"We have rented vacation homes in the Santa Cruz/Aptos areas for nine years. Beach Glass House is--hands down--the best of all our rental experiences. The home is spacious, light, and decorated with very appealing beach decor. The owner is very responsive, and two minor issues were resolved swiftly and completely. The beach is a short walk from the front door (+/- 5 minutes), although there is a bit of a scramble over large rocks to get to the sand. This home is wonderful for the entire family, although it would not work for anyone with serious mobility issues, due to the stairs up to the front door and the interior spiral staircase to the upper and lower floors. That said, we loved it, and our group of 10 included five children from 1-1/2 to 11-1/2 years and 5 adults, including grandparents (us), ages 30s to 70. The owners have thoughtfully provided a variety of beach gear--sand toys, boogie and skim boards, etc. There is also a pool table and a ping pong table. There is a single, large flat-screen TV in the loft, and I actually enjoyed the absence of a TV in the master bedroom and living room! The back yard is very nicely landscaped, and the hot tub was a huge hit. There is a hand-held, warm-water outdoor shower next to it with a flexible hose for rinsing off before enjoying the hot tub and heading indoors. The home's location is also excellent from a convenience standpoint. It is ten minutes or less to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, supermarkets, or the Boardwalk, and equally close to a large number of restaurants. All of these can be accessed via city streets, making it possible to avoid the ever-present traffic snarl on Highway 1. We also enjoyed the upstairs deck, complete with umbrella table, gas barbecue, and outdoor heater. Oh, did I mention that it also boasts a view of the ocean?!! In short, look no farther than Beach Glass House. We returned home yesterday and have already booked for next summer!!!"
