  • Even better than described

"This property should provide a luxurious stay for anyone, single or family. The owner keeps it in excellent condition; and it has all the amenities one could wish for, including beach towels, bikes, spare batteries, books & toys for children. The view is fantastic, and it is close to beaches, shopping, and restaurants. The newly-installed hot tub was a definite hit with our family. We have happily stayed here twice, and hope to return for another visit."

  • Didn't Want To Leave!

"This was by far, the best beach house experience yet! The house was even better than the pictures. The living room was spacious and the couches were very comfortable. The Television was a nice size and cable was provided so you could watch your favorite shows. The kitchen was roomy and fully stocked. I loved that you could enjoy a meal at the table or sitting at the island. The half bath on this floor was bigger than you would expect and convenient when you didn't want to walk upstairs. The bedrooms upstairs were all a nice size and the beds were comfortable. The Queen bedroom had a television, plenty of closet space and double doors that opened to a small balcony with a fun view of the street. The Double bedroom was very bright and sunny. It also had lots of closet space and was the quietest room in the house. The bathroom on this floor was beautiful! Lots of room and a really nice shower. The Master Bedroom was spacious with ample closet space, a television, and a gorgeous view of the ocean. The master bath was roomy, and had a nice vanity with a stool for putting on makeup on one side and a nice high sink and counter space on the other. There was also a Jacuzzi tub/shower combo. My favorite, though was keeping the windows open at night to hear the waves crashing on the beach. What a treat! The third floor had a wonderful sun deck. Even on windy days, we were sheltered on this deck, so there was no need to sit on the beach and get sand blown in our faces. We just relaxed and watched the waves in warmth from the sun deck. This house is located on the best street in Santa Cruz. You walk out your door and are less than half a short block from the entrance to Seabright (Twin Lakes) Beach. There are so many places you can walk to from here. If you are like us, you can bring bikes and ride to the Boardwalk, Wharf, Harbor and lots of other places around town. Grocery stores and eating establishments are all within walking/biking distance, so you really don't even need to use a car if you don't want to. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we can't wait to go back again next year!"

  • Clean and Accomodating

"We had a great stay at the Sunny Seahouse! We love this area for the Natural Bridges beach and the West Cliff Drive walk/bike trail. Just so scenic and we were a just a block away! We enjoyed the home with open beam ceilings and the white walls made it open and airy. We had family come and go during our stay and the sleeping accommodations worked well for our group of 8 adults. The bedding was not as firm as ours at home and the bunk beds had bottom sheets but no top sheets. One of the bunks was missing a pillow. The master bedroom was beautiful with a very nice, roomy bathroom. The 2nd bath is a lot smaller with tighter quarters for sharing. The linens were plentiful for both baths and kitchen. The kitchen had lots of dishware and glasses so we didn't run out of those. We also got to use the pancake griddle for the first time and it worked very well! Plenty of room for food preparation and the kitchen had the essentials. We used the BBQ a couple nights and it is older--a bit rustic and could use an update. We enjoyed the hot tub each night. It was very clean and hot when we arrived. It was a bit small for our size group, however. It can fit four adults but it is a bit cozy then. We really enjoyed the fire pit and recommend buying wood before you arrive. The back yard was okay, not quite as well kept as the pictures--just needs some cleaning up and replants and removing an old BBQ. Also, the great room furniture has been changed to a wicker indoor/outdoor set. It was adequate but not super comfy and we could not see the TV from a couple of the corner chairs while we watched the Summer Olympics. There was 2 sets of washers and dryers in the garage. We brought our own bikes but there was a bike and boogie boards and umbrella in the garage as well. I really enjoyed working with Kimberly, the property manager. She responded very quickly to our inquiries both before and during our stay. I recommend this rental and know you will enjoy your stay!"

  • Peaceful, relaxing & well located!

"I echo comments of the other reviewers. Our family of 4 adults stayed here over Labor Day weekend and could not have been more pleased. House is beautifully upgraded with a gorgeous bathroom and well-appointed kitchen, comfy beds, and large common space that still permits various simultaneous activities: cooking, dining, playing games, watching TV, etc. But, frankly, we spent most of our time away, including daily walk along Pleasure Point and other sightseeing activities & day trip up PCH with detour thru Butano State Park (gorgeous hidden redwood forest gem!) to SF. The Pleasure Point area of Santa Cruz is one of our favorite places to stay because of the charming neighborhood, fabulous walkway along the bluffs (lots of marine life and surfers to watch) and proximity to the beach. Loved waking up to the views of the lagoon, and the sunset over the sea was terrific (esp w/ a glass of wine on the deck). The hot tub was a real bonus. Enjoyed the annual Begonia Festival in Capitola--who knew? Though the kitchen is well stocked with all the basics & more (plus an ocean view!) we wound up only cooking 1 meal here because we hit lots of our favorite eating spots: Gayles in Capitola; Kelly's on the West side; Pour, Hoffman's & dancing at the Blue Lagoon downtown SC; Bittersweet for brunch in Aptos; and Cafe Tiramasu & the Tonga Room Sat night in San Francisco. Great to come back to this relaxing home at the end of each day. Owners were great communicators and booking was a breeze. Would definitely recommend to others. Thanks so much for making this lovely home available for us!"
