  • Another memorable family event at Sandcastle

"Santa Cruz was a beautiful, sunny haven for our wedding. Our beach time was full of great wave riding with the boogie boards from the house. Walking down to the beach for a stroll, and to lounge, was just what we all needed. Everything that we could use at the beach was at our fingertips. The house was equipped with all the kitchen ware we could need. I must say I love the lay out of the refrigerator. I thought I had a lot of serving pieces... My only complaint is the very spotty internet service. Being unpluged was not all bad for us but dropped calls where a bit frustrating. Now visiting your house for the graduation and now the wedding makes us feel like we have a home away from home. The open home layout, all the games, made hanging out so easy and fun. This is such a great home for memorable occasions. Thank you for opening your home to us. We will be back for some new celebration. Happy wedding to you. All the planning, all the energy, it comes and goes so quickly. Until the next time!"

  • Great!

"Beautiful little cottage in the perfect area. We used to live in Santa Cruz so we knew the whereabouts of where we wanted to stay. This perfect little getaway home was exactly what we were looking for. Easy access, no trouble parking, clean, safe, and nestled into one of our favorite beach/surf communities. Thank you, we would be more than happy to book here again."

  • Quiet, comfortable, clean

"This property is in the woods in Aptos. The location is wonderfully quiet, a 10-minute drive from beautiful hiking, a close drive to Santa Cruz. Two pluses for us were the inviting seating area near the kitchen and the attractive comfortable bedrooms. Our family spent many enjoyable hours chatting in the family room, and everyone slept well. The pizza oven in the back yard was a fun adventure. We had delicious fire-baked pizzas for Saturday breakfast (remember to bring wood.) The kitchen/eating area were very practical for a large family and provided an area to play late-night games. The owners were very responsive and positive. We are already discussing a return to this beautiful property."

  • Clean and Accomodating

"We had a great stay at the Sunny Seahouse! We love this area for the Natural Bridges beach and the West Cliff Drive walk/bike trail. Just so scenic and we were a just a block away! We enjoyed the home with open beam ceilings and the white walls made it open and airy. We had family come and go during our stay and the sleeping accommodations worked well for our group of 8 adults. The bedding was not as firm as ours at home and the bunk beds had bottom sheets but no top sheets. One of the bunks was missing a pillow. The master bedroom was beautiful with a very nice, roomy bathroom. The 2nd bath is a lot smaller with tighter quarters for sharing. The linens were plentiful for both baths and kitchen. The kitchen had lots of dishware and glasses so we didn't run out of those. We also got to use the pancake griddle for the first time and it worked very well! Plenty of room for food preparation and the kitchen had the essentials. We used the BBQ a couple nights and it is older--a bit rustic and could use an update. We enjoyed the hot tub each night. It was very clean and hot when we arrived. It was a bit small for our size group, however. It can fit four adults but it is a bit cozy then. We really enjoyed the fire pit and recommend buying wood before you arrive. The back yard was okay, not quite as well kept as the pictures--just needs some cleaning up and replants and removing an old BBQ. Also, the great room furniture has been changed to a wicker indoor/outdoor set. It was adequate but not super comfy and we could not see the TV from a couple of the corner chairs while we watched the Summer Olympics. There was 2 sets of washers and dryers in the garage. We brought our own bikes but there was a bike and boogie boards and umbrella in the garage as well. I really enjoyed working with Kimberly, the property manager. She responded very quickly to our inquiries both before and during our stay. I recommend this rental and know you will enjoy your stay!"
