About this property

Base camp for family adventures in the North Cascades

Enjoy two super efficient tiny homes as your base camp for adventure in the Cascade Mountains. Sleep 5-6 guests comfortably in a queen size bed in the loft and 4 twin sized bunks without the hassle of setting up and tearing down tents or worrying about the ever present threat of Washington rain. A natural stairway descent to the lower cabin which houses the bathroom, means this may not be the easiest location for those with mobility limitations.

The custom outdoor kitchen complete with stainless steel counters, sink and propane cooktop in addition to your campfire ring will prepare you for cooking in any weather. Give yourself time to set up your campsite just the way you like it. Dishes, pots, pans, tea kettle, pour over coffee strainers, popcorn popper (Whirly Pop) hand crank snow cone machine (bring your own ice and syrup!), pantry basics and plastic tubs for storing food are all included in this unique glamping experience. Fridge/freezer inside will keep perishables fresh and safe from critters.

UPDATED: 2024 Now offering bedding and towels included for additional comfort and convenience. The community well supplies potable water to the entire park. Enjoy indoor plumbing and hot, on-demand shower after shooting the rapids on the Cascade River or grabbing the perfect selfie during Larch Madness.

While this is an off grid location, some electricity is provided. Both cabins have DC electric lights supplied by the solar panels attached to both cabins. Charging capability for your USB charged devices. In addition, a booster for cell service makes this spot reliable for Tmobile.

Camping
This is fine if youre looking for a camping experience. The set up with the two buildings is weird but the listing is honest. I just didnt notice this unfortunately when I booked. There are other things where I feel the listing is inaccurate. It said internet and some ability to charge devices. There was no internet and the one outlet we found didnt work. We had a hard time finding the property and combing through all the various instructions that are in a large book when you get there and were not sent beforehand. For example, we spent probably 30 minutes messing with wires and switches trying to figure out how to turn on the cell phone service booster. To ask the host any questions involves driving into the Marblemount town where there still isnt really much cell service but a few restaurants have wifi. I was told in a message after booking that there were no linens but I was traveling from Arizona so wouldnt have brought linens with me. I thought the various demands to fully dry and put away the dishes, etc were unreasonable given there arent any towels. There are mice so you have to walk your trash out to a shed which is a third structure on the property. I actually didnt mind this, but think that some would. I did attempt to use the shower but couldnt get it the right temperature. At checkout, you're asking to basically clean everything including mopping which seems ridiculous given theres a $75 cleaning fee. Overall just didnt really enjoy.

Funky glamping
Community and environs family friendly, rustic. Propane for showers snd outdoor burners a challenge to learn but a big step up from camping. Lots of steps up between two buildings. We loved our stay in cabins with decades of family use.

Unusual set up with kitchen and shower far apart from living quarters. Difficult to stay for more than few days. No railing or steps for bunk beds. Dangerous settings.

No walking to the nearest restroom with your own facilities on site.

Let the Cascade and Boulder Rivers and fresh, mountain air give you the best night of sleep after a day of rock hounding or panning for gold.

What makes this property unique

Cascade River Park is a gated, off grid private community. Close proximity to Cascade River, Skagit River, Lookout Mountain Trailhead, Cascade Pass and Sahale Arm, Hidden Lake Trailhead, Pressentin Park. Four miles from Marblemount.

Fire pit with benches and chairs.
