Hidden Treasure

The property was well maintained and very quiet. A great place to relax and recharge. Location was within walking distance of most needs. Parking was a little tight when all units were rented. Will recommend to others going to the area. Host was quick to respond to any inquiries.

House was good, but a little hard to find

My wife and I had a hard time finding the property, I attempted to call the property owner through the phone number provided by VRBO and no one answered and the voicemail box was full. There were no clear markings identifying the property number, and the driveway was small and hard to locate (the last part is not the fault of the property owner, but explains our difficulty locating the property). There also was no carbon monoxide detector present in the home despite having a gas stove and gas heater. There were two smoke detectors but no carbon monoxide. Other than these issues the house was nice and comfortable.

Okay property, but not without issues

There were pros and cons to this stay. Pros: -online description was accurate -communication was fair -property was in a location that was walkable to a handful of restaurants (most not open on the holiday or holiday weekend though) gas station, and a grocery store -nice location with no issues and little noise, but you should definitely be aware at night if you're walking around at night. (a blanket note for most Jackson neighborhoods) Cons: -the property is very old and therefore just very rundown overall. (although kitchen appliances were up to date) -the main issue we had is that the property is VERY cold. when we arrived it was 70 degrees outside and the inside of the apartment was so cold we had to keep jackets on. The temperature dropped drastically over the 3 day stay and by the final night it was literally freezing outside (32 degrees). There is a gas heater unit in the kitchen as the only source of heat, however personally, I would not feel comfortable leaving it on when not home so there was no way to keep the apartment warm unless it was on. The heater was malfunctioning on our final night though, and therefore we couldn't use it during the freezing temperatures. I did alert the host and hopefully that will be fixed by the time it is rented again.
