Great place. Clean and equipped with everything you'll need. Located within the golden circle but still silent and not very "touristy" - can absolutely recommend this place

Check in was easy, the cottage is in a gated neighborhood and the directions for entry were clear. Kitchen had lots of accessories to make cooking easy.
Yard is green, but it is actually a lava field from the nearby Crater.
The clouds feel so low in Iceland, they make for excellent pictures from the cottage porch.

We (four adults) had a lovely time in this very well equipped and highly functional house. The location is excellent, both locally (quiet, private) and in relation to key tourist sites in Iceland. Communication with the host was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Awesome stay

We stayed for 3 nights after traveling the ring road. Perfect location to visit attractions in Golden Circle. Very comfortable accommodations.

The house and location worked out great for us. Three bedrooms with a great layout overall. I loved the kitchen and living room area with tons of windows and views. The sauna was great, and we used it each day. The location was optimal for our short stay, only 3 nights, to get to see the Golden Circle and Southern Coast trip well. We certainly enjoyed the South Coast trip the most. The check in and check out was self service and easy to use. The host was great to work with and easy to communicate with.

Lovely cottage!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this peaceful cottage that is located close to so many points of interest in Iceland. Very quiet, beautiful outdoor space, well equipped kitchen, and clean spaces. We would love to return. Thank you to the hosts for such wonderful communication.

Perfect location- beautiful home

Located near the crater lake, this home is a quick trip to many of the sites along the Golden Circle route. Plenty of room, clean and nice place to stay. Beds are comfortable. The sauna is also really nice after a long day of hiking. Kids liked the soccer goals in the yard.

Amazing trip

Iceland was fantastic with so much to see and do, and this house was the perfect launch pad for the Golden Circle and Vik and Reykjavik. Our hosts were so helpful with suggestions and ideas and were very clear with instructions on the house. We had an amazing time! Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Cozy and well equipped house with sauna

We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our stay. The sauna was superb but came without lighting. The host was very kind and responded quickly. Unfortunately, the gate did not work everytime.

Great for families

My family had a fantastic stay at Birkir's cottage. Our young kids were thrilled to find soccer goals and a trampoline in the beautiful backyard. The whole family had comfortable rooms to sleep in, the house was clean, and the location was convenient to a number of major sites (e.g., Gullfoss, Geysir, Thingvellir, Kerid Crater). I'd highly recommend the home (and Birkir as a host) to anyone, particularly families traveling with young children that are more confined to their rentals by necessity.

Lovely Icelandic stay!

We had such a wonderful time here…so close to Selfoss for groceries and some nice restaurants AND close to Golden Circle sites. I feel like we barely got into all the natural wonders available near this lovely home. The kitchen and living area were all very comfortable and well stocked. Bedrooms and bathroom were also very comfortable and cozy. Unfortunately it was very rainy while we are in Iceland so we did not get to enjoy the deck, but maybe next time:)

Beautiful and Peaceful

After a day of sightseeing and golf, it was great to return to this home to relax in the lovely and peaceful surroundings. The home was perfect for two couples, the kitchen had everything that we could possibly need, and the sauna was a nice additional amenity. I have to admit that we had a little trouble finding the home but that was our only possible negative. The location gave us early access to Gullfoss and other attractions so that we could be there before the many tour buses, which was fantastic. Also close to many restaurant options in Selfoss or Hveragerdi.

Wow. Incredible cottage. It was so clean and beautifully decorated and so well stocked with everything and anything we could possible need. So much more than many places that we stayed for the same price. The location was just off the main road in a little community, private yet very accessible. Beautiful yard with soccer nets, my kids has a blast playing outside. Very close to the so many attractions like the Kerid crater and the thermal river hike in Reykjadalur Valley. Thanks to the incredible hosts!

Country house

Lovely property, but the bathroom presented health hazards. The shower floor was slick. One person in our party fell hard in the shower, because of the slick shower floor. He didn’t realize it was slick until he slipped. All 3 of us stumbled over the one step up split bathroom floor. The washing machine was not familiar for us to use, and we struggled in learning how to use it. An instruction manual would have been appreciated.. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your house.

Het is een prachtig huis. Mooi uitzicht, prima keuken met veel faciliteiten, net als de badkamer. Wij waren met 6 personen, de 3e slaapkamer is meer geschikt voor kinderen. En heb tussendoor handdoeken gewassen, maar duurt lang voor ze droog zijn. Droger zou misschien handig zijn. Verder prima verblijf gehad. Ook fijne en snelle communicatie met eigenaren.

Der Check in hat sich sehr schwierig gestaltet, die Kommunikation ließ zu wünschen übrig. Wir haben zwar nach einiger Zeit jemanden erreicht allerdings waren die Informationen nicht wirklich Hilfreich. Auch die Sauberkeit bei Ankunft ließ zu wünschen übrig. Die Schränke sind unordentlich und ein Bett mussten wir selber beziehen. Der auf den Bildern zu sehende kalte Pool wurde durch einen Jacuzzi ersetzt den man nicht benutzen darf und man muss seinen Müll selber 2,5km fahren.Die Lage ist genial und die Ausstattung ist in Ordnung.
