We had an amazing stay here. The house was perfect for three couples. The kitchen was huge, we enjoyed playing games at the large dining table each night. The hot tub was our favorite part. But we also enjoyed the sauna. Views are incredible and easy spot to do day trips. Very clean and I would definitely recommend. 10/10!!

I can't even begin to say enough good about this property, the host, and our stay! I echo everyone else's 10/10 rating! Beautiful scenery from the back porch! Right on Lake Alfavatn. The sauna and hot tub are simply "icing on the cake." Comfortable beds... We loved the coffee! The location truly can't be beat--right in the middle of the "Golden Circle." Easy to access. Close to the city of Selfoss for dining and groceries. Right around the road from Kerid Crater! It's just as it's pictured. Truly, we felt that we were living luxuriously in the heart of Iceland. And, yes! We saw the Northern Lights EVERY NIGHT from the back porch. What a blessing!(Unlocking the door takes a little practice!)

The house is situated about 30 minutes away from Selfoss and is the perfect retreat! You can be in Vik in 2 hours. The kitchen is fully furnished (coffee maker uses beans only) and it was clean, Quiet neighborhood. Lovely sauna and tub outside. Plenty of room for more than just us 2. Close to a few fun attractions. We would 100% book again. Host is fantastic! @kovaction on YouTube

We loved this property - spectacular views and amenities. The property is very well managed and clean. The location is fantastic - near so many incredible sites. We received excellent referrals on places to eat and visit. We also had a great catered meal at the house - delicious! We would absolutely return to this beautiful spot.

Big house in a great location

This house was great for our multi-generation family trip (2-85 years). It was large enough that everyone had their space while still being together. The kids loved the lakeside beach while the adults enjoyed the hot tub. The host was easy to communicate with and had everything we needed. Would stay here again.

Spectacular Retreat

This property is top notch. Easy access from busy Sellfoss, yet quiet and so relaxing! Plenty of room to cook and dine together with all amenities! We wish we had booked our stay for longer just to be able to enjoy the lake and peaceful surroundings!!

Amazing property

Excellent property view amazing views. Quiet location with easy access to town. The property has absolutely everything you need. The jacuzzi and sauna are amazing and the kids enjoyed the canoes. I would go back in a heartbeat. Don't hesitate to book, you won't regret it.

Great Location in the Middle of the Golden Circle

Beautiful property with a great location on a quiet lake. Just 10 minutes from the town of Selfoss with many restaurants and shops. Nice array of amenities - nespresso machine, induction cooktop, sauna, fire pits, bath robes, and more. Saw the Aurora from the comfort of the jacuzzi every night. Just note that the second full bathroom only has an outside entrance.

A wonderful, magical place

Walking into the house and looking out at the mountain and the lake, you know you have chosen well. We lazed I the beautiful sauna and soaked in the infinity hot tub, enjoying the magnificent surroundings and the lovely house. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals, and you are close to Selfoss if you want to eat out. If you are hesitating about renting this, don’t. This house will make your trip. It also is close to many of the most famous sites to visit.

Northern Lights Lakehouse

The Lakehouse Villa was the perfect place for our adventures in the golden circle and the city. Signey was very responsive and always communicated with us to make us feel at home. The Villa was clean and modern, we were blown away with the views of the lake and mountains. One night we came back from a Northern lights tour empty handed, but upon our arrival back at the lake house, the sky was lit up with the Northern lights! Beautiful villa, beautiful country of Iceland, highly recommend the villa!

The Absolute Best!!!

The photos of this property do not lie. This place is just absolutely incredible with something for everyone. You could stay your entire trip and never leave the property, or explore all the conveniently located sights and return to relax by the fire, sauna and hot tub. Cook a gourmet meal in the well-appointed kitchen or explore the lake in a kayak. Signy was always quick to respond to all our questions and requests. She is a very gracious host. RENT THIS PROPERTY and never regret it. It is worth every penny. We hope to return again soon! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE AND MEMORABLE STAY. I can’t thank our hosts enough!

Icelandic paradise with a few caveats

Overall we all very much enjoyed our stay at the lakeside villa. The home was clean, comfortable (although warm) and very well-equipped with amenities. Perhaps it is because we are Americans, but we really struggled with the locks at this home until we figured out the trick. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit but the washer had to be unplugged and replugged in up to 5 times before it would work. It also takes 2 hours for an average size load. However, those were absolutely minor annoyances compared to the amazing views, infinity hot tub and well appointed rooms. Thank you for letting this group of 4 couples stay in your fantastic home. It was the perfect home base for the golden circle and south coast and an easy drive to Keflavik airport when we had to grudgingly head home. Because of the geothermal heating the house was rather room, so keep that in mind when you are packing.

Spectacular house in a spectacular setting

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend with 3 other couples; the house exceeded our expectations! You cannot beat the convenient and beautiful location of the lake house. The lake is picturesque and doubles as a cold tip! The hot tub, deck and outdoor fire place were perfect for relaxing after a day spent exploring. The house was well stocked with extra towels, bathrobes and even slippers! The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to make your stay feel like home. This is a place my family and I would love to stay at again!

I am born and raised in Iceland. Live in the Reykjavik area. The Lake house has been my vacation home for 10 years. Me and my family have spend most weekends and holidays there since we bought the land and built the house.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This is the perfect vacation home to us frequently since the access is all year and the drive from the city is only 45 minutes. The access to the lake and the beach and the view of the mountains is the main attraction. The high trees surrounding the house gives it an extra privacy and shelter from any wind. Its really something you don´t get in many places in Iceland.

All main tourist attractions of South Iceland are within an easy drive, half day or whole day. Restaurants, golf, hiking, horsebackriding, pools and spa in the surrounding area.
