So Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Place Del La Sol was the perfect vacation for our family. We have been to Provo twice previously but stayed at Grace Bay which is also great but the peace and quiet of Taylor Bay is hard to beat. We nearly had the entire beach to ourselves most days. For the kids the water is calm and shallow and they had fun searching for star fish and other treasures at low tide. Even on the windiest days there are hardly any waves.

The villa itself is very well appointed with all the amenities you might expect and then some. Although not new and modern it is very comfortable, well stocked with everything one would need and above all else clean. Each of the bedrooms including the separate master suite have air conditioning units. The front screened room is perfect for the evenings.

The grounds are well maintained and there is a security code to get to and from the beach. Our kids constantly went back and forth from the beach to the pool. At times we did wish there was more of a view of the water from the pool deck but the comfortable patio sofa was hard to resist. The pool is a nice size with a nice shallow end for the younger kids. The pool was cleaned twice during our stay (midweek and at checkout). The private tennis courts are in good shape and only a short walk down the road.

From the first inquiry to checkout the Owner and Property Manager were both extremely helpful and accommodating. Any issues that came up (which I stress were minor) were quickly dealt with. Without any hesitation, we would be thrilled to have an opportunity to vacation at Place Del La Sol again. Best family vacation to date!

Place de la Sol, a great find on Taylor Bay

  • 5 of 5

Due to a double-booking on our original villa, we booked this villa 2 weeks before we flew to TCI.

We were a bit anxious because of the negative review that had posted recently.

Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised. The house was perfect for us! It's not modern or brand new, but it is clean, charming and tropical. The house is surrounded by lush vegetation, secluding it from the other villas nearby.

The 2 bedrooms in the house were great and the master suite in the separate building was spacious and had a fun outdoor shower. The screened-in porch area was huge and we loved hanging out in there sipping drinks and playing cards at night after dinner. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could think of, including a blender, so making margaritas was a must!

The property was landscaped with beautiful flowers & succulents and the pool deck had loungers, pool floats, beach chairs and so much more. The pool was a great perk that was used often. The fact that it was only steps to Taylor Bay was just another added bonus. We watched the sunset many times while floating in the bay.

The property manager, Rebecca, was AMAZING. Whenever we needed a suggestion or had a question, we texted or called her and she was quick to respond. She went above and beyond for us and she made our stay at Place de la Sol exceptional.

We are definitely considering coming back and staying here again!

* We were six adults. This place had plenty of room for us all.

* Wear your sandals when walking to the bay. Sometimes there are burrs in the sand!

* Snorkel at Smith's Reef in Turtle Cove!

Quaint, charming villa on a truly amazing beach!

  • 5 of 5

We are so glad we chose to stay here in light of a recent negative review among the many glowing ones and we were very pleased that all of the aforementioned issues were non-existent by the time of our stay. The place was well-appointed and the landscaping beautifully done.

The property manager, Rebecca, was amazing and very helpful. She was a wealth of local knowledge and gave us several recommendations for great food and activities that helped fill in our time in Providenciales.

We look forward to our next stay at the lovely Place De La Sol!

Don't fall for the pictures - its a wreck

  • 1 of 5

Run down and so sad. This house is on the most amazing piece of property I've stayed at in over 20 years of traveling to the Caribbean. But the house is a wreck. Beautiful vines you see in the pictures outside the house are dead and gone. Gutters leaked, pool stopped working, needed to replace the fridge during our stay, garage is FULL of garbage, bathrooms are dark and rust is on curtain rods, towels were stained and mismatched, exposed wires on the inside and outside of the house (a scary sight since I brought a 4 year old), no light switches labelled - need I continue? And the closer, after all this, since I have been home, I haven't heard from the management company or owner except to ask me to be patient - shameful. Moral of the story - if you want the most amazing beach front you have EVER seen this is the house, but stay on the beach because the house is a disaster.

Owner's Response: Dear Jake, I am very sorry that your vacation was interrupted due to maintenance issues at the Villa. We endeavor to ensure that everything is in working order prior to guest arrival but there is no accounting for the occasional unexpected breakdown. As discussed during our phone conversation last week, I advised that I would contact you once I was able to reach the property owners later this week. As reiterated during our phone conversation ; the issues that took place were all immediately addressed . Place' de la Sol has a very reliable and trustworthy staff, so it was unnecessary for you to feel the need to oversee them while they worked, thus reducing any disruption to your vacation. I will get back in touch shortly. Regards, Rebecca Place' de la Sol Management

Place de la Sol

  • 5 of 5

Today is our last day at Place de la Sol and I think I may cry. Wish we were staying for two weeks. This place provided an amazing vacation for my husband, myself and our three children. The house was spacious, clean, well equipped and had a lovely beachy feel. Loved all the seating areas from the large screened in deck where many card games were played to poolside where many cool beverages were had. The beach was amazing! Crystal clear warm shallow water and barely any people around. We love that sort of peace and privacy. The pool was really nice to have and the kids especially enjoyed it. We all loved the outdoor shower off of the master bedroom...what a treat! The manager was excellent to deal with and gave us some great tips. Upon his suggestion we tried a restaurant his friends own called Via Veneto...it was excellent and we went there twice. He also hooked us up with some fresh fish( red snapper) and we cooked that one night....so delicious! The owner of the property was also great to deal with and understanding as well. I had sent payment in the mail and somehow it got lost( came back to me 6 weeks later) but she was very patient and kind and we got it all sorted out. We did visit Grace Bay Beach a couple of times as we had friends staying at a condo on that side of the island and I really enjoyed that area as well. I do not think there are many bad spots in Turks and Caicos. We went on a Glow worm sail cruise. It was a beautiful evening and I thought the glow worm phenomenon was fascinating. The kids were expecting more but they are kids. We snorkelled at Coral Gardens and our group saw lots of variety there. We also ate at Mango Reef which I would give 5 stars, Las Brisas 3.5 stars, Shark Bite 4 stars, Danny Bhouy's 3 stars and Opus 4 stars. We mostly shopped at IGA and I was prepared for super expensive prices but it was not too bad. It was certainly more expensive than Canada but not outrageously so. It was pretty easy to get around Turks and Caicos by car, especially once you figure out how to landmark by roundabout. All in all, this was most definitely a 5 star place to be and we would definitely return.

Map

The villa is located in on Taylor Bay which is on the South West side of the island. Fortunately Taylor Bay is still not known to most tourists and is considered a hidden gem. The beach is not easy to find if you're not staying in the immediate area, which gives you a secluded beach typically shared with only a few others. East of the Villa is the National Park Chalk Sound, a beautiful lagoon with some of the most amazing turquoise blue water's on earth. There is a great restaurant overlooking Chalk Sound called Las Brisas that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a 2 minute drive from the villa and is a must go to for great food and amazing views.
