James, a great location paired with amenities that actually deliver makes the whole stay click, and it sounds like both came through. Happy to have you back whenever the timing is right.
An excellent property itself and a great location for visiting Central Vermont! Traditional log cabin home with all amenities needed for a great stay. Especially enjoyed the private setting in the trees. And, only 10 minutes from the Interstate and about that that from Woodstock. A great place!

Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the home’s private wooded setting, traditional log cabin character, amenities, and convenient location for exploring Central Vermont and Woodstock. Hope to welcome you back.
Great cabin, great location. We took some very nice walks around the neighbourhood. Beds were very comfortable. Great layout, enough privacy for guests but also a great common area including the deck. Well equipped kitchen. We had 3 couples and we all enjoyed our stay very much. We would definately stay here again!!

Thanks for the great review! Glad you enjoyed the cabin and location — nice walks around the neighborhood and comfortable beds. Happy the layout worked well for three couples with plenty of privacy, and that the common area and deck were a hit. Great to hear the kitchen was well equipped. It was a pleasure hosting you — we’d love to welcome you back.
The property was in a great location and had lots of space for our family to spread out. Kitchen was large and fully equipped which was perfect for cooking dinners every night. The Jake’s market minutes away had everything we needed, which was convenient. We drove to Killington two days in a row. Easy drive from the home. Only bummer was that the fireplace wasn’t working while we were there. Highly recommend though!
We enjoyed six nights at Cabin Fever. Cooked dinner at home every night. The accommodations were perfect. Bathrooms were great, showers had excellent water pressure, the internet was excellent, TV great. We cooked on the grille. A few minutes to town. The only thing I would add would be brighter lights in all the rooms -- it was hard to find a good place to read (especially older folks, who need better light). I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Portoro, the "host," was easy to get in touch with, but uniformly disappointing. When we showed up for our 3 nights, the lower level (with 2 of the bedrooms & baths) was unusable without heat or power, and evidence of rodent infestation in one bedroom. The oven & microwave broken, half of the lightbulbs in the house blown out, and no wifi. When we checked out, all of these were still unusable. The area had a bad storm days prior to arrival, and some difficulties are understandable. What was not understandable was the communication before, during, & after. My vacation was consumed by contractors in & out. Once, the "property manager," breezed through the house, took a picture, and left without asking us anything. This is a nice house in a good location. But it was not ready to stay in. I don't have enough characters to list everything wrong. Lamps without lampshades or broken switches. No info on how to use the various HVAC methods (seemingly different on every floor). I have reached out to the host continuously since check-in. I don't think I should be charged full-price for a house that was half unusable. And I have gotten a stream of "sincerely apologize," "rest assured our team is reviewing," "we've re-escalated," "truly appreciate your patience." It's been 2 weeks, and they might surprise me, but this is the deadline for leaving a review, and I would not recommend anyone book with this host. To say nothing of the horribly invasive "guest verification."

Following the severe storm prior to your arrival, there were unexpected issues that affected the property. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Throughout your stay, our team worked to coordinate contractors and address the problems as quickly as possible. We also offered the option to relocate you to another accommodation, but we understand that you chose to remain at the property.
We recognize that having maintenance personnel visit during your vacation was disruptive, and we're sorry that this impacted your experience. Please know that our team was doing everything possible to restore the home's functionality while keeping you updated along the way.
We also understand your concerns regarding your request after your stay. Please know that we have not overlooked your feedback. Our team is carefully reviewing everything that occurred, including the condition of the home, the communication throughout your stay, and your concerns regarding compensation. We appreciate your patience while this review is being completed.
Thank you again for your honest feedback. While we're sorry we fell short of providing the experience you expected, your comments are important to us and will help us continue improving for future guests. We wish you all the best.
My husband and I and two other couple friends spent two nights at Cabin Fever. It’s a beautiful log cabin home with all the comforts and amenities you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed using the gas fire as it was chilly each evening being that it’s November. A special bonus was that we didn’t realize when we had booked the house that it was part of the Quechee Club. We went to look at the facilities which are beautiful and have much to offer. We, however, we’re busy doing other things this weekend to use the facilities but would love to return to take advantage of the club!
The management company it was very responsive sent us lots of suggestions of things to do in the area, including an offer to have groceries purchased in advance and left in the home. We would definitely come back to rent this cozy home!
