About Jacopo Marcello
I was born and grew up in this villa. First of all through my family’s care and teaching, and then in a conscious and individual way, I was charmed by these incredible surroundings permeated by tradition and a warm welcoming feeling. After having spent 10 years away studying and working, in 2002 I decided to come back here, to my home, and put all my efforts in keeping its splendour alive and making it visible to our guests, hoping that they will feel the emotions that I felt and continue to do so.
Jacopo Marcello purchased this Villa in 1550
What makes this Villa unique
The Venetian villas are more than 4.000 houses, built between 1450 and 1700, and Ca’ Marcello is one of the few which is still lived by the original aristocratic family. The private park is 90.000 sq. meters and is rich in old-century trees, statues, flower beds. Going for a sunset stroll or for jogging in the early morning is like walking in heaven. During your stay, I'll be glad to accompany you through a private visit of the main building to appreciate the real Italian lifestyle and share our love for this beautiful place. Our family deeply believes in the great difference between being guests and being clients, and the first one is the way we like people to feel while having their holiday here. Regarding the concept: The Barchessa apartment is the only guesthouse in the whole villa, independent and perfectly positioned (in one of the arcaded wings, called ‘Barchessa’). All the bedroom windows overlook the main Italian style garden and the villa’s façade. Amenities: Several vegetables and spices can be freely picked up daily from our private kitchen garden. Dinners can be self-arranged by the guests, but can also be cooked by a private chef and served in the garden, everywhere the guests want. Surroundings and activities: the property lays in the middle of the southern Veneto region. This means being a few minutes away from all major interesting destinations in the area: Venice (35 minutes by direct train), Padua (40 mins by car), Bassano and Asolo (30 mins), Verona and Lake Garda (90 mins), Cortina d' Ampezzo (120 mins) and all charming villages and Palladian villas. Scenery lovers can visit the natural park of the River Sile, where also boating and kayaking facilities are available. Private visits to local cellars and wine producers are possible to taste the famous 'Prosecco'(50 mins from the villa). Daily boat trips on the Brenta River are easy to arrange to enjoy the stunning landscape and Palladian villas from Padua to Venice.

Memorable holiday in an amazing Italian home!
Our adult family of 6 just finished a wonderful vacation in Italy and were privileged to stay at the wonderful apartment that is part of this historic villa. The setting is just as wonderful and representative as the photos and description on the website. The rooms are large and comfortable with antique furniture and art. The grounds are lovely with parklike settings, interesting walkways, a fish pond and even an old dovecote. There is a lovely pool with a large gazebo and lounge chairs for outdoor dining for the exclusive use of those staying in the apartment. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need to cook any kind of dinner you might like. The bedrooms are very comfortable and large with lots of room for hanging clothes. There are onsite laundry facilities. The villa is very well located to explore Venice and the beautiful towns and villages of the Veneto region. There is a train station nearby where you can take trains into Venice twice an hour and the trip is only about 40 minutes saving you trying to park in Venice. There are shops nearby for any groceries you may need. One of the best features is the attentive and helpful service and support from Jacopo and Roberta. They provided us with alot of information about nearby sites we wanted to visit, Palladian villa's, restaurants, galleries etc. They also connected us to a nearby cooking school that was excellent. One of the crowning events was an evening dinner that they arranged for us (from a local chef) that we able to enjoy in the beautiful dining room of the historic main house to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was very generous of the lovely Marcello family and a truly memorable experience! We would recommend this amazing opportunity to anyone - you won't regret it!
thank you so much for your kindness and joyful attitude! We're all glad you had a good time and I wish I could spend more time with you. But, you know, sailing took me away with the wind a couple of days...
I hope to see you again in the future and I wish you and your family all the best!
Absolutely loved our stay.
Both the property and living space was amazing. Jacopo was very gracious and accommodating to our needs and questions. He was also very informative, explaining his family and the villa history, as well as taking us on a tour of the main villa, which was breathtaking! We loved the location, the villa, the people. Would highly recommend this to anyone!!!
Thank you dear Suzanne! It was great and joyful having you here. I regret I hadn't have time to hear the guys playing, but I'm listening to Steve's music all day since you left!
Have a great time and take care.
Absolutely fantastic , far exceeded my expectations .
This home is much akin to a castle, superbly maintained, well run and a pleasure to live in for the week,we lacked for nothing . It far exceeded our expectations , and Jacopo Marcello was a most attentive host for the week assuring that our every need was well met. I can't rave enough about the experience, I heartily recommend it to anyone, it is close in to Venice and other towns of interest in the Veneto. Bud Green

Wonderful Italian stay in charming villa
We had a great time at Ca’ Marcello. Spectacular grounds, lovely and welcoming hosts and refined indoor spaces made our holiday unforgettable. The villa is very well appointed and we had everything we needed at hand. The location is perfect, in the middle of a lovely contryside landscape and at a short drive/train ride to all major attractions we were in the Veneto for: Venice, Padova, Treviso, Verona and the Prosecco hills. The accommodation is very charming and perfectly clean with lots of space for the kids to run. We loved cooking our meals in the fully equipped and brand renewed kitchen, as well as over the bbq grill out at the pool. Lots of seating for meals between the dining area, kitchen large table and patio. Jacopo is a lovely host, always caring and helping us to enjoy our stay. Absolutely recommended! Marta&Family
