Wreck Cove Cabin
Stayed here during the Celtic Colours weekend. The cabins are conveniently located central to the Cabot trail which made sight seeing and hiking an easy endeavour. We had a relaxing stay and enjoyed our time exploring the property! Will be back!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi! My name is Jay, I am from Nova Scotia and have owned Wreck Cove Wilderness Cabins since 2019. I teach archery lessons at my range on-site called Highland Bow & Arrow. I love guiding folks shooting 3D targets through the woods, and talk about plants and fungi to anyone who will listen along the way! I love foraging, hiking, swimming and visiting all of the beautiful natural spots the island has to offer.

Why they chose this property

I live on the North shore of Cape Breton Island with some of the most spectacular displays of the ocean's power there is to see in Nova Scotia. Wreck Cove is made up of cliffs that overlook rocky beaches and endless ocean. On the Cabot Trail with artisans like glass blowers, chocolate and hat makers; restaurants; hiking trails; and world-famous natural beauty all around. Cabins are 20km from the tallest mountain in Nova Scotia: Cape Smokey. Cabins are open year-round so you can ski in the winter, ride the gondola for the views in the summer.

What makes this property unique

The peace! You are competing for 28 acres of nature with very few others. Wreck Cove has outstanding views from tall cliffs and trails running through the rugged woods. We are often visited by a plethora of birds and wildlife like moose and deer who also appreciate the peace and quiet. There are a network of trails along the ocean, down by a river and multiple routes to get back to your cabin to explore. Archery lessons and experiences on site. Specials events like foraging days, markets, and chainsaw courses too!
