The location was great! Loved that the ocean side pool and garden pool were steps from the lanai door. We loved sitting out on the lanai in the mornings drinking coffee and listening to the waves crash on the shore. Only one downfall (not the owners fault) the ceiling/floors are thin and apparently we had a family with either young kids or heavy walkers above us. We were woken up everyday with someone running across the whole floor above us. Otherwise we had a GREAT week

As advertised - great location and place was as depicted in pictures and description. Not sure if it was just our timing, but we had plenty of supplies - their “starter kit” was more than enough for our 4-5 day stay. Rental property company was available if needed, and great communication before, during, and after stay.

A Perfect Stay in Hawaii

We absolutely loved this condo, from ease and professionalism of process, to the condo decorating, fabulous location where you can hear the waves crashing, sit on the beach, great access to everything. Will definitely return!

Property was as advertised on VRBO. Sunsets were very nice to watch each evening by the ocean. There was even a resident there who would blow his Conch right at sunset.

Lovely vacation

Once again we have enjoyed our stay at Casa de Emdeko. It's a great place to stay especially when you are on the ground floor and can sit in the common area with the BBQ's, Tiki torches and fabulous view of the ocean! Our unit was clean and fairly well equipped. Just remember to bring your own favorite spices, salt and pepper etc. We do recommend this unit!

Loved the condo. Really enjoyed the location. I always stay at The Casa De Emdeko when I visit the Big Island. The only problem we had was the water pressure in the condo was horrible :(( It was REALLY difficult to shower and wash our hair (Everyone in the condo had LONG hair) and do dishes. But other then that....It was great!

Home in the tropical forest

Need to have a sense of adventure and want to become one with the geckos in the house and the wild pigs in the neighborhood with loud frog serenades at night. The streets are VERY steep, so if elderly or have limitations might want to rethink this area. The sunsets on the lanai are the best! There's a "screened in" lanai, and our girls slept out there most of the time. If you are a princess and a neat nick like me, you might want to stay in a nice, sealed condo in town. Snorkeling and swimming at bottom of the hill and another beach very near.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found the residence to be quite satisfactory except for a couple of things. One, the residence was clean, but is infested with roaches, cupboards and drawers especially. The residence needs to be fumigated. The only other comment was that it would be nice if there was a dvd player. Overall, the facilities were very nice.

Wonderful Getaway! Quiet, Beautiful, Great Location

The property was wonderfully situated. The property is in a great location close to food, stores, sites. And it sits right on the oceanfront with a tremendous view. We saw dolphins, whales, and fish. The lanai was so peaceful and pleasant and the pool was awesome. The property was clean and spacious. The two bedrooms with two bathrooms was perfect and with the two rollaways, we were more than comfortable (one quick suggestion - maybe a small upgrade the rollaway mattresses would be huge in terms of supporting slightly older kids). The kitchen was great as we prepared our meals several nights and it was stocked with plenty of pots, pans and cookware. To complement the kitchen, the property itself has grills that you can use (which we did) and that was great. WiFi worked great and the TV was super (although to be fair, the property is so awesome next to the ocean that you don't need to watch too much TV. :) The complex itself is wonderful. It is quiet and well maintained, beautiful landscaping and the full time residents were so nice. We had such a relaxed vacation that we will be sure to return to the Casa and to this property!

Home hunting

Home is well appointed. Nice upgrades throughout. Beds were very comfortable and the unit is quiet. All the beach toys you need. Kitchen is large and the outdoor grills were nice. The grounds keepers clean grills daily. Along with raking the beach sand and cleaning the pools. The complex has security gates all around. The salt water pool is the highlight of the complex. Late evening float and swim with the waves crashing about 20 yards away. The sunsets are superb. Early morning coffee watching the outrigger paddlers go by. Easy drive to downtown Kona but a bit of a walk. Central location to the West end of Hawaii. Bring your own sugar and coffee. Most of the cooking spices are there but some were out in the spice rack. Water pressure not the best and hot water in the unit was more warm. Easy to overlook the little things because I love this complex. Made new friends every night for sunset appreciation hour. Parking is 1st come but usually I could get close to our unit. Loved having a bottom condo. Just a short walk to the pools and common area. Garden views were amazing. We were house hunting to relocate to the Big Island. Short drive to some of the best snorkeling in all of Hawaii. Mahalo for an amazing stay.

Nice Older Property

Nice older property with very beautiful grounds. Unit was nice, with a well equipped kitchen. Only negatives was the hot water was shut off for about a day, and the air conditioning was also down for a day and night. Overall it worked good for what we needed.

Nice condo with fun social scene in common area for dinner and sunset.

The condo was great for the 4 of us with easy, ground floor access to the common patio, pool and beach area. We enjoyed the social scene with all the tables on the patio filled each evening with people gathering for dinner and/or drinks ahead of sunset. Easy instructions and great communication for directions and checkin/parking pass. We found everything we needed for our stay and meal prep too.

Nice Condo by the Ocean.

Nice place to stay but their were a few things needed. A privacy door for for the Master Bathroom and a musty odor when we walked in. TV's in bedrooms were for steaming only no cable Liked staying on the first floor. Very clean inside. Had a good time in the pools and beach.

Great Condo

We arrived 30 minutes early, but we were able to enter anyway. The condo was everything we expected and more. We were very pleased with the large and fully equipped kitchen. The bath towels were plush and plentiful. The bathrooms and kitchen have all been tastefully remodeled. We especially enjoyed the central air conditioning during our stay. The overall decor is nice, the walk out ground level lanai has the closest vicinity to the pool, lounging area and BBQ's in the entire property. You should put this condo at the top of your list for this reason alone. An added bonus is the resident who provided a nightly sunset Conch ritual at the waters edge. We would definitely rent this unit again in the future.

The property was in a great location and the 2 pools were amazing. The property inside is a little dated and comfort was average of the beds. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, dishes, etc. The property grounds were very well maintained. Now the bad the combination of old retired owners, renters time shares is a rough mix and not very welcoming. The “old” people make this not a very family friendly environment and would only recommend to singles couples or other retirees!!! The condo it self I would rent again If at a different location. Sorry condo owner it’s not you, it’s them...

Lovely waterfront property and well appointed condo

We had everything we needed for cooking at home including a rice cooker and blender! The condo is clean and comfortable. There’s plenty of room to set up a cot or two in the living/dining area if you need more than the two bedrooms. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Both pools are nice... kind of small but still nice. The full time residents are friendly so long as you are respectful of their home. They gather in the courtyard for a conch shell blowing sunset ritual every evening. It is quite charming but be advised that things get quiet very shortly thereafter so if you’re looking for a party, this wouldn’t be the place. I will definitely stay here again. I loved it!
