The cabin was beautifully furnished and maintained! The host provided many little extras (toiletries, creamer etc) and was very quick to respond to any questions! Bed and couch were comfortable too! The cabin was extremely clean and located close to nearby towns to explore! We would definitely recommend staying here and plan to visit again!
We needed a weekend away and I’ve been wanting to stay in a treehouse for years. The benefit of this cabin over the creek is that you can walk straight in- no steep stairs. The cabin is beautiful and well kept. Between the fireplace, the hot tub, and the stars, it was a cozy weekend. We also enjoyed a pizza from Lems. Thanks for a memorable getaway!
What a great cabin, and the view of creek was outstanding. We don’t travel much to Fredericksburg but if we should return definitely would return to this cabin. Don’t hesitate to book this cabin!
A beautiful cabin was the perfect location for a weekend away to rest and relax ! The bed was very comfortable and the cabin was immaculate! We had such a great time ! Our host was wonderful to communicate with and his recommendation for dinner Sunday at Mariola’s in Wooster was delicious ! Can’t go wrong staying here !
This beautiful cabin has everything a couple needs for a private getaway. Overlooking the Salt Creek, the back porch has a hot tub for two, while inside the fireplace and king size bed is a cozy retreat inside. Beautifully decorated and clean with a modern bathroom and kitchen. Located close to excellent shopping and restaurants. The owners / hosts are wonderful and took care of all our needs. My wife and I are already planning our next visit.
Oh wow, what a great find. I stayed in Cabin 2 and it was fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the creek and birds. There was a great piece of flat land to walk along the creek. Highly recommend for couples or a single person looking for a getaway.
This cabin is immaculate, not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere. It is gorgeous. Everything we needed was provided. We cooked our Easter brunch with no issues. Our host Mark was extremely helpful in helping us find things that we wanted to do. The cabin is about 20 minutes from Berlin area. We were greenhouse hopping and found so many in the area. We couldnt have been happier with choosing this cabin and would 100% book again for our trips to Amish country.
Highly recommended! Perfect place to escape and relax. The cabin is very new, perfect condition and built with high quality fixtures and furniture. Owners are amazing-great, prompt communication. While there is another cabin close by, the owners did a fantastic job situating the cabins so that you feel secluded and you have your own private space and balcony overlooking Salt Creek.
Very relaxing, low key trip. We love coming down to this area to recoup from the hustle of everyday life. The cabin was perfect - very clean, love the decor, and the beautiful view of Salt Creek. The fire pit was a nice touch and we spent 2 nights by the fire.We walked into town and enjoyed watching the 4th of July parade. A couple of suggestions to enhance the stay: have a lighter available for the fire pit. The other is to have a dresser in the closet or maybe a chest at the foot of the bed. We really couldn’t in pack our bags because there wasn’t a place to put clothes.Overall, it’s a place my husband and I would love to come back to.
The cabin was simply amazing. It is very clean and peaceful. Upon check-in there was a note welcoming us, a coupon for pizza at Lem’s, and popcorn. It was unexpected but a nice touch. We spent most of the day sitting on the deck listening to the water below. There is another cabin next door but you would not know it. The owner was very responsive to inquiries before and during our stay. This was the peace I needed. I can’t wait to go back.
We spent 4 wonderful nights in the most peaceful setting. The cabin itself was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated and situated perfectly for privacy. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful - addressed some needs immediately trying night to break “our bubble” at the same time. Had the pleasure of chatting with their son at Lem’s Pizza (which was delicious). Location is perfect - very centrally located. We had beautiful drives by day and quiet , peaceful nights. Highly recommend and are planning our next trip back! It was an anniversary to remember. Thanks Lemon Family!
I booked this cabin for a quiet, restorative getaway before a hospital stay, as I was seriously ill. What I got was a nightmare I never even entered the cabin. The listing is materially misleading: photos show a private, woodsy retreat with a deck “overlooking Salt Fork.” In reality, the back deck faces an industrial storage lot/gas station facility, and the front porch is 100–200 ft from the host’s own house. Zero privacy, zero woods.Worse, the Vrbo app showed a prominent banner saying “Food and pet supplies available on site,” strongly implying pets were welcome. Only tiny text at the very bottom said “no pets.” I missed it; my fault for not scrolling far enough, but the mixed messaging is confusing and dangerous.Within 10 seconds of arriving, while I was still unloading with poop bags in hand, the host’s off-leash German Shepherd charged and attacked my 8-month-old puppy, pinning her by the neck. I had to hit the dog repeatedly to free her. The host offered no apology, no concern, only yelled it was “my own damn fault” and refused any refund when I asked to cancel immediately (I’d been there 5 minutes).I left in tears, puppy traumatized, 800 gone, healing trip ruined. This host showed zero empathy after his dog attacked a puppy on his property. First and last time using Vrbo if this is how inaccurate listings and unsafe hosts are handled. Travelers deserve accurate photos, clear rules, and basic safety. I request a full refund through Vrbo’s Guest Refund Policy

We, at The Cabins Over Salt Creek, work hard to provide a clean, comfortable, and relaxing environment for our guests to enjoy both indoors and out. We are located in Ohio, where the foliage and visual scenery of outdoor landscape varies through the change of seasons.
Our family appreciates the blessing a pet can be to its owner. However, there is nowhere on our Vrbo listing that implies anything about “Food and pet supplies available on site”. In actuality, there are four separate locations where it is clearly stated that pets are not allowed: 1) in the Popular Amenities section, 2) under House Rules, 3) in the full listing of all Amenities, and 4) in Frequently Asked Questions (It is the first question listed.).
If there was any doubt or confusion, an inquiry can be made. We have had multiple guests message us prior to their stay and ask permission to bring their pet(s) with them. Up until this point, everyone has been understanding and respectful of our rules. We have never had any other issues of this nature.
We wish full health for both you and your dog.
