Cozy and clean!

We were welcomed with a little sweet surprise! After traveling for over 15 hours, it was so nice to come to the Fisherman’s Lodge and find a yummy loaf of bread, Irish butter and Rasberry Jam!! It touched our hearts. The bedrooms were just like the pictures and very clean. Anytime I texted the host, they were quick to reply and very helpful. My family felt at home and LOVED every minute!!

Host was Helpful

Being near the lake, this lodging had a lot of humidity inside. It was a blessing to have nice hot water, good water pressure, and control of the room thermostat. It was also an added benefit to have a modem to enjoy streaming tv. We met Neil and he had some helpful suggestions for driving in the area

About the host

Hosted by Neil Keane

Host profile image
My name is Neil and I host The Lodges @ Kilbeg Pier alongside my wife Zoe and our children. We manage all three lodges ourselves — from preparation and cleaning to guest support — and take genuine pride in every stay.

I have 8 years' experience as a host. I'm always on hand before and during your stay with local tips, restaurant recommendations, and anything you need to make
the most of the west of Ireland.

Guests regularly tell us that our communication and local
knowledge made a real difference to their trip. Don't hesitate to get in touch — we're always happy to help.

Why they chose this property

Kilbeg Pier on the eastern shore of Lough Corrib is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt corners of County Galway. The lough is Ireland's largest lake — a vast, island-dotted expanse of water that draws visitors from across Europe for its wild brown trout fishing, kayaking, and lakeside walks.

The area sits at the gateway to Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way, with Galway City just 30 minutes away. It offers the best of both worlds — genuine rural peace and quiet, with easy access to some of Ireland's most celebrated landscapes, attractions, and hospitality.

For our family, managing these lodges on the shores of Lough Corrib isn't just a business — it's a privilege. We love sharing this corner of Ireland with guests from around the world.

What makes this property unique

Fisherman's Lodge is one of three lodges at Kilbeg Pier — a small, family-run property on the eastern shore of Lough Corrib. Unlike larger holiday complexes, every aspect of your stay is managed personally by our family. You're not dealing with a management company — you're dealing with us.

The location is genuinely special. Kilbeg Pier is just a
3-minute walk away — guests regularly tell us it's one of the most beautiful spots they've encountered on their travels in Ireland. Spectacular sunsets over the lough, resident swans, and the sounds of the countryside make for an experience that's
difficult to find anywhere else.

The lodge itself is spacious, modern, and fully equipped — with board games and Lego for families, a Nespresso machine, free laundry, and an EV charger on site. We also leave a small welcome treat on arrival — a little taste of the Ireland.

Our guests come from across the world and many return year after year. We think that says more about Kilbeg Pier than anything else we could write.
