The property was clean and smelled fresh. Host was VERY responsive to queries. The supplies provided were adequate and of good quality.The property was peaceful and quiet. It served our purpose well.

Great value for the price, super convenient for us, and excellent communication from the host. Our family was pleased. They had a high chair and some toys on site that were super helpful for our son.

A comfortable home away from home. Peaceful, great for families. 30-45 mn train ride from the City. Good stove and fridge, most cooking supplies (large mixing bowl missing). Toaster and microwave. Two bathrooms- both very clean. Very steep indoor stairs - mechanical lift chair makes them accessible. Visit and have a relaxing vacation.

The property was spacious and in a quiet dead end street. The parking area was right on the property in front of the house which I think is always a plus when in New York near the city. What I did not like was the powered chair lift on the staircase that made it uncomfortable to carry travel bags and groceries up the stairs.

Overall, this was a good, convenient budget-friendly place to stay for a city trip with a few significant flaws.Positives: The home is located in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood. Near public transport or a 30-minute drive into Manhattan. The property is accessible w/chairlifts. The A/C worked exceptionally well. There were plenty necessities (towels, kitchen supplies) provided. The host was helpful and gave clear check-in/check-out instructions. Negatives: The listing is advertising the property as an "entire home" with onsite parking, but it is actually part of a multifamily home/duplex with a shared driveway and another unit on the ground floor (directly below the property). Upon arrival, we were informed that there were strict quiet hours beginning at 10pm. Had this been disclosed in the listing, we likely would have chosen a different property - we specifically wanted a standalone home so we wouldn't have to worry about disturbing other occupants!There were also several maintenance and upkeep issues. Most notably, the outdoor furniture is worn & dirty. The back-right corner of the porch railing is rotted and loose - could be dangerous if someone put weight on it. Some light fixtures were missing covers or bulbs, there was a hole in the kitchen wall, a loose upstairs toilet cistern. No extra sheets were provided for the pull-out, which had a stained mattress and looked as though it hadn't been cleaned between stays (food crumbs, hair, etc).

The property is OK, but not what I would term niceWith my friends was looking for a place to hang out for 4 days, booked 3 nights. The location wasn't nice enough so we cancelled (or thought we had) after one night. The furniture was yard sale chic, peeling paint on the deck etc. One drawer was broken when we arrived and the cleaner must have had a very bad day. There were stains and dirty marks. If your just looking for a place to sleep its OK, the bathroom is nice. There was loud music playing nearby and the neighborhood felt a bit rough. Some not good looking people were hanging out near the home, it felt unsafe. The host has denied this, he wasn't there.When we arrived I left him know the property was disappointing and explained these issues. The host said there couldn't be music and the neighborhood is good. He never responded to the broken drawer or dirty state of the property. Online VRBO said to contact the host to cancel once the rental had started. I told the host first night to cancel and sent message we had left property 2 days early. Later when I asked about the cancellation, he said I hadn't cancelled. In the back and forth with the host he didn't accept the issues and didn't offer anything. The host didn't argue with us, he ignored the complaints and didn't offer any help

The first thing that was noticeable for us was how clean the place looked and felt. The accommodation is spacious and the property is located in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning during a couple of hot days worked beautifully. We would definitely stay again.

Our whole family (5 adults) had such a comfortable and productive 9 day stay in this upstairs flat. It was so clean and relaxing, in a super quiet neighborhood, well located for our need to attend activities in Westchester and 3 of the 5 boroughs. You must have a car, but Metro North/Amtrak train stations for drop offs/pickups, groceries, other shopping, and laundromat were nearby. Yes there are stairs and only 1.5 baths, but we found it all very manageable. The outside deck and extra well equipped kitchen were treats we were not expecting. Thank you for the excellent communication and delightful stay!

The apartment was very clean; the kitchen was good and easy to use. The host was very helpful in sorting out a few minor issues. The apartment is spacious and has a nice outdoor deck. A couple of things to note: it is excellent value and therefore also not fancy. This is not a criticism, just a note as to what to expect. And, do have a car....the location is great if driving, not great for public transportation. All in all, an excellent stay.

The heating unit stopped working on the second night, which was very cold. The host knew that the system was faulty and had space heaters as a backup, but did not inform us until afterwords.The hardwood floor was not properly sanded and polyurethane. It looks like the owners were doing the work themselves, because it was too much for them, they leave it unfinished and did not hire a professional to do it.The master bedroom has a big old coach which look like a sick old person was sleeping in it. It looks like a lot of dead skin was in it. The closet door had a curtain with a big hoist to lift sick people.The two sets of stairs going to the second floor, and the third floor were narrow because there is an electric chair lift on each stairs.The blinds in the kitchen were dirty.Loose door knobs and the bedroom curtain falling down.Microwave oven needs replacement.The place could’ve been easily much better if the host would spend a little more money on the place.The photos online look better than the actual place.

Thank you very much for the review. The house you are talking about you even stay more than the checking out time. Also it looks like you didn't check the house future before reservation; all that you cited are, I mean the stair lifts, person lifter that you call hoist are all the to help Handicaps and old persons and they are all listed. I really dont have to talk about other things you said now because everyone have to come and see for themselves. I only hope where you are living now is paradise on earth. Again thank you for your stay.

Pros: good location, spacious, has things you need like toddler potty, toddler dishes, responsive host when issues arised, kid and handicap friendly with a chair lift but the broken banisters negate that someCons: no blankets, not enough linens none for the pull out couch, heat did not work and was freezing but host came out and tried to fix it and then bought space heaters, banisters are broken

The location of the home is very close to many areas. We were in town to explore more of Tarrytown (second trip) and it was only a 20 minute drive away. There were many restaurants and shopping options nearby the home and traffic was not overwhelming. The home is very quiet.

If you are looking for an AFFORDABLE, clean place to stay with friends or family and close to NYC this is the place. The bathrooms have been remodeled and the upstairs shower is great! The remainder of the house needs a great deal of updating, remodeling and could use some decorating advice. However, if this was done, they could ask for A LOT more. So, it depends on what matters most to you. It certainly served our purpose.

This was an unexpected trip due to a death in the family. Considering we didn't plan to travel to NYC, we were happily surprised this house was equipped with everything we needed, from new kitchen appliances like air fryer, rice cooker, and crockpot to hair dryer, garment steamer, plenty of towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. The beds, sheets and pillows were hotel quality. The house was comfortable and homey. Plus it had parking! It's located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. It's a five to ten minute drive from supermarkets and major retail stores. The host was quick to respond to any and all inquiries. Did I mention the house was very, very clean? We are extremely grateful to have found this place.

Place smelled terrible and had wires hanging out all over the place. It was dingy and extremely outdated. There was not enough towels or wash cloths for everyone in our party when they knew exactly how many people we had and were told that we should have said everyone was an adult. I guess teenagers don’t get towels?? All the beds are made but had no fitted sheets on and were expected to sleep on the old dingy mattress covers. Had to wait until next morning for this to be rectified. Also the microwave was messed up and would turn itself on when you OPENED the door. Not safe. Was told that all of his microwaves do that which is completely not the case and dangerous. Also started out by not being able to get in as they messed up the code that was supposed to be assigned to us. I did take photos but won’t post them as it’s not my style. VRBO should check this place out. I’m not sure they’d approve. Definitely don’t recommend to anyone. Only decent thing about it as the location.
