Needs some updating
I have stayed at the Napili Shores at least a half dozen times in the past. Love it’s location to Napili Bay and to Napili Market which is a 10 minute walk away. This experience was my least favorite for several reasons. We didn’t need to check in because we had the code. There was no parking pass in the room so we picked it up at the front desk. When I went later to ask at the front desk for change for a quarter so I could buy a post card stamp, I was told they don’t provide “anything” to outside renters. Come on! The front desk has never treated me that way in my past visits. The pool had its light and wires floating around in it for a day or two but they did at least close it eventually. The grounds are very well maintained. The unit itself, not so much. The microwave lights that light up the range and oven below were both blown so it is very hard to see what you are cooking. The lighting in the unit is very dim. The disposal had a filthy rag jammed in it when we arrived. We notified the owner and she was attentive and had someone replace one bulb on the microwave. There were ants. When we first arrived the ant spray smell was intolerable. I think they had sprayed moments before we arrived because the dishwasher had just been turned on too. The fridge had at least ten jars of food leftover for us to throw out. The kitchen was serviceable. Just enough for two people with some extra plates and bowls so you didn’t have to run the dishwasher every day. No spices at all so I bought and left salt and pepper for the next person. The bedroom mattress has a plastic cover which makes the nights very hot and sticky but the mattress it comfortable. The smell under the mattress is horrible. Don’t think they have cleaned there for awhile. Please note that our stay was when the Co-vid 19 had just started. When we left, there were only three cases in the state of Hawai’i. The restaurants and stores were still open, stores didn’t have TP though and the Maui schools were closed for spring break. Lahaina shops were all still open. The beach at Kapalua was still full on a Tuesday. I’m sure now that a couple of days have passed, things have changed.
Yikes! A homeowner's worst nightmare, getting a scathing review like this!
I strive to give my guests a great experience so when I fall short, I am truly devastated.
I have taken steps to make sure no other guests experience the issues that can be changed:
1. Lighting, any bulb still out will be replaced.
2. All containers of condiments will be disposed and basics like salt and pepper will be re-stocked.
3. The "plastic" cover on the brand-new mattress is a water and bug protector under the cotton mattress protector, but it will be removed and replaced with a different type, not plastic feeling. Not sure what the smell is referring to but all will be inspected and care given.
4. Front desk; I have already let the resort manager know that this treatment of any guest is unacceptable. I am sure the manager will address this issue.
I always respond to my guests and do everything in my power to make their stay fun and worry free. I only knew about the condiments and bulb while the guest was there. I would have had housekeeping go by and take the mattress cover off and clean if I'd have known.
My sincere apologies to this guest and I believe other guests will continue enjoying this affordable and comfortable condo.
Awesome way to wrap up our honeymoon!
Property and location was awesome, local beaches offered great sunning and snorkeling experiences. Property itself was clean and quiet with plenty of amenities. If you are looking for a beautiful Maui getaway, this is it!
Can't wait to come back
We LOVE Evelyns place so much that this is our second time here and hope to come back very soon. Her house is not only clean, but has everything you need! Snorkel gear to see the turtles, pots and pans to make some awesome meals, she even has a great blowdryer on hand incase you may need it. We loved the pull out beds (living room sofa) because if we wanted to, we were able to sleep in the living room and listen to the tropical weather instead of the bedroom. She even put her own Netflix account on the tv for anyone who doesn't have it and there was left over spices/sunscreen for us! Highly recommend and we will be back!
First Napili vacation
We go to Hawaii every year at this time. We always go to Kihei/Wailea so decided to try this location. The price is very reasonable so we thought we would give it a try. Our trip started out bumpy but the owner went out of her way to make things right for us. We appreciated her effort because we were pretty tired an needed to rest a bit. My over all feeling regarding the condo is that it has not been given much love in a while. The kitchen was not stocked very well but it does have nice wine glasses. The mattress is comfortable but the plastic protection wrapper against the sheets was weird. All of the spreads could use replacing. The bathroom is the best room. Nice shower with good pressure. The beds/couches could use some kind of locking mechanism if you intend to sit on them. The deck is good sized and has plenty of beach toys. I think this is a good choice for families with kids. The grounds have two pools and a hot tub. I don't believe the lower pool is heated and is located next to a busy restaurant so there is not much privacy and kind of awkward. Absolutely lovely views from the oceanfront lawn with well tended grounds. The grills were cleaned very well every
morning. Parking spots are small so I don't recommend renting a large vehicle.
Because we go to Hawaii every year I know that I probably have a critical eye. I think this is a great affordable spot especially for families.
The condo was very nice and clean right next to the beach and the pool. It didn’t have air conditioning, but we were provided with numerous fans that did the job nicely. Evelyn also has a lot of things available for the beach, including chairs, umbrellas, a pail with toys for the kids and some flippers and visor for the ocean. It was a great experience.
On site laundry room available. Parking is free, no daily charges. Island famous Gazebo restaurant on site. Steps away from beautiful Napili Bay. Snorkeling, tennis, golf, kayaking, zip-lining, bicycling, walking trails, fishing, boating trips, parasailing, outstanding dining, all these and more in Napili/Kapalua area or minutes away at Kaanapali Beach area.

Why Evelyn Kelly chose Lahaina
My daughter and I took a trip to Maui and had breakfast at the famous Gazebo restaurant and looked at the room and resort. A friend has stayed at this resort yearly and has always raved about it. We were staying in a big concrete name brand resort, where parking was expensive and very far from our room; the walk to the pool was complicated and far; the whole building was very impersonal. When we walked through this resort, we fell in love with the vintage simplicity and real Hawaii feel. I knew I could live here and feel safe and stress free.
What makes this Condo unique
Wonderful for families and children. Great grass area and tree house feel with the high vaulted ceilings and open airy and private lanai
