Prepare your family meals in the large kitchen featuring custom, hand-built cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel Whirlpool appliances and an outdoor gas grill. Electric food prep appliances include oven w/ 4 burners, microwave, Instapot, waffle maker, griddle, panini press, hand mixer and blender.

Start your day off right at the coffee station featuring Drip and K-cup coffee machines or manual French Press complete with electric bean grinder and froth tool. The tea station is nearby with a quick-heating electric kettle and multiple tea selections. Enjoy fresh spring water from nearby Hot Springs in the electric water dispenser featuring hot and cold-water options from tap.

Sip your morning beverage on the front covered patio w/ padded outdoor furniture or 10ft hammock as the squirrels forage and fog rolls through the valley. Explore the grounds for white and rose quartz gemstones as you walk a serene grassy trail through the densely shaded forest. Watch a sunrise or sunset from the stunning slate bluff lookout point where you can see the river and horizon for miles in three directions South, East and West.

Set out on an expedition floating the Ouachita River with easy river access for swimming, fishing and canoe/kayak deployment. Observe and collect samples of a diverse selection of wildflowers, plants, mushrooms, mosses and lichen that can be found on the trails leading to the bluffs. The bluffs were naturally created from slabs of delicate slate jutting vertically out of the ground, evidence of ancient volcanic activity and harbors its own unique ecosystem of plants and fungi.

Both bedrooms and the living room feature large TV's with Samsung Plus programming options. High speed Internet Wi-Fi (10mb) is available throughout the home. A 20w PDU outlet extender w/ surge protection is available in the common area next to the living room with enough table space for a multi-monitor home office setup.

Or, disconnect from electronics and enjoy the common area as a game nook with popular family and children-oriented board and card games. Cozy up in the La-Z-Boy rocker recliner with a selection from the Riverglen library featuring new and vintage books and magazines including quilter-related, kids, art, science, architecture, outdoor, poetry and classics.

At dusk, it's common to hear a Chuck-Will's-Widow or Whip-Poor-Wheel call out as you lounge in the beautifully appointed outdoor covered pavilion seating area featuring a 4-person sectional sofa, multiple chairs, barefoot-friendly rug, 4-person dining table and a quartz crystal fire pit with cedar logs to burn. 1 bundle of wood is supplied, more wood can be delivered for $5/bundle, contact your host Melissa to place an order for firewood delivery.

Wash the day away in the lovely bathrooms both featuring a tub/shower combination with soft and absorbent 100% cotton towels and washcloths. A large-basin washer and dryer will clean your clothes as needed.

At the end of the day, melt into soft, 100% Egyptian cotton high thread count sateen bed sheets, all-season 100% cotton duvets, duvet covers and quilts. Fall asleep fast and wake up feeling refreshed on hybrid memory foam cooling-technology support mattresses in 'medium-plush' firmness -- one side of the Split King / Twin XL is a 'firm' option.

Each bed frame is fully reinforced steel slat with extra built-in supports and anchors to ensure no broken bed frames or sunk mattresses at any time of your stay. Both soft and firm pillows including two types of memory foam pillows are available for optimal sleeping arrangements of your choice in each bed. You find pillow choices on each bed in the house and in each of the bedroom closets.

High-output USB-A and USB-C charging connections are available on the white power strips located between the beds or at the beside outlet extenders for phone and laptop charging options.

Blackout curtains on the windows keep the bedrooms dark for sleeping late to start your day refreshed and energetic.

Guest Access:
The entire home is yours to enjoy. The garage is the only restricted area with no guest access. On the property, there are (3) other houses nearby, please do not disturb these people including exploring these areas on foot -- you are trespassing and will be questioned and escorted back to your area.

The densely treed area to the South and West (follow the natural rocky/grassy trails) is available to explore on foot. The river access point can be reached via the gravel path South of the home leading down to the river that features a 60-year-old hand-built cobblestone wall and is a great spot for swimming, fishing or putting in a canoe or kayak.

The bluffs with majestic sunrise and sunset views can be reached via a short and easy mostly grassy walk South-West up the hill trail which loops through the forest and back to the start.

Please know that during periods of recent heavy rains our grass grows very quickly but needs to be dried out before we can mow it so there may be times when the grass on the trails is taller than expected -- we do our best to keep our trails looking pristine at all times. During periods of recent heavy rains, the Ouachita River may be flooded and rushing at a rapid rate. That may render parts of your river access temporarily inaccessible, or the river would be too treacherous to enter, swim or boat. At the river access point there are deep glens that pour water from the mountainsides down to the river, please avoid those areas during rains as they flood quickly and water rushes fast.

Our family proudly homesteaded this property sixty years ago and we still live on-premises and nearby. Therefore, we are always available through the app messaging system or via phone call or text once numbers are exchanged. Please contact us with any problems so we may fix them for you expeditiously.

The home is conveniently located on Highway 270 West so there is road noise when sitting outside on the front porch area and somewhat in the firepit area. Just a bit further back, and the noise quickly fades to nature. Inside, road noise cannot be heard, and the walls have extra sound dampening material installed to be extra certain.

1 bundle of firewood is supplied, more wood can be delivered for $5/bundle, contact your host Melissa to place an order for firewood delivery.

SMOKING:

Living in a forest, we have zero tolerance for smoking or vaping of any kind, anywhere in the house or on the property. STRICTLY ENFORCED, you will be asked to immediately leave if we see, smell or find evidence.

PETS:

We love animals but we want to keep the house clean and fresh and our grass barefoot worthy for all guests. Therefore, there are NO PETS ALLOWED in the home or on the property. STRICTLY ENFORCED, you will be asked to immediately leave if we see, hear, smell or find evidence.

RV HOOKUP OPTIONS:

If you are traveling with an RV, for an extra nightly fee, the site includes two 30A electric, water and sewer hookups with enough space to park adjacent to the house. Please contact the host to discuss RV hookup options available ONLY to registered guests.

Lovely home on a gorgeous 45 acre plot on the river!! Quiet and peaceful. Loads of special touches and a well stocked kitchen. Two BR with single beds in both rooms. Hosts were very amenable and communicative!! We loved our time there!!!

Amazing property with river access and beautiful views. Plenty of space and beautiful outdoor spaces. Owners thought of all the extras for a comfortable family getaway. Also as a crystal collector I loved the sink in the back for cleaning my treasures.
