We love Rocky Point getaways!
We come down to Rocky Point several times a year. We normally stay at a friend's unit in the Sonoran Spa, but as we were coming down with a larger family group, we wanted a 3 bed unit, rather than a 2 bed. We stayed at the Sky once before when it was brand new, and had loved it. This now being 10 years later, we wanted to try it again. The unit is beautiful, and has gorgeous views. However, aspects of it feel dated, and you can tell they haven't been updated in probably 10 years. Things that we probably take for granted in the other units we've stayed in, but aren't provided here: pool towels/toys, detergent, garage bags, crock pot, basic condiments. It's tough to plan for everything, but I feel like this one was sparse in what was provided for having a full kitchen. The bathrooms shower heads put out far too much water for the drain capacity. The master shower overflowed onto bathroom floor in less than 3 minutes, resulting in having to mop and soaking half of our towels, which we couldn't wash without detergent. Our son walked into a wet floor and slid and hit his head. One pool was heated, but still very cold for April. No breakfast on-site. While we liked the unit, and facility amenities, we would probably choose a location further down the beach with easier walkablity.
