At the heart of the city is Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson) ; the city centre runs from The Rocks and Circular Quay to Central Station in the south. The Harbour divides Sydney into the north and south, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Harbour Tunnel connecting the two shores. Immediately to the West, (East Balmain) is where we are located with Darling Harbour also close by. You are literary just minutes from the city centre, accessible by Ferry (Darling St Wharf) or bus. The ferry passes under the Harbour Bridge and right by the Opera House to Circular Quay in 12 minutes or to Darling Harbour in 5 minutes. What are you waiting for? The house is fully furnished. Hotel quality white linen and towels, china, glassware, flatware and cookware. Set on two levels, three, if you count the rooftop terrace. On the ground level is the kitchen, a combined pantry and laundry with WC, then the formal dining room and elegant living/lounge room with French doors leading on to a front patio with unobstructed City and Habour views. Both rooms have white Carrara marble surround fire places. Upstairs the 3 bedrooms are each furnished traditionally and complemented with original brass bed. There is an ensuite bathroom off the rear bedroom. Both front and rear bedrooms have sizable wrap around balconies offering extensive views to The Sydney Harbour Bridge, The Anzac Bridge, Darling Harbour and the Sydney City skyline itself with cruise liners berthing directly adjacent to the house.

We were lucky enough to call this house "our home" for 7 days. 12 friends rented all three properties to celebrate New Years Eve. The location is perfect. We didn't need to leave the houses to see the fireworks. Lyn and Giacomo are wonderful hosts.

Brillant !!!!

Without doubt the perfect location with more than enough amenities to make our party of five comfortable and at home. You are located in the INNER CITY. Safe, clean and vibrant with great views to top it off.

Using public transport is so easy and efficient and made even more so by this location. Travelling by Ferry to the City is so spectacular, passing under the Harbour Bridge and right by the Opera House and so easy and so close. Connections to other ferries, trains and busses are all in this location. It’s perfect for the tourist or business traveller. The Village atmosphere in Balmain has a distinct presence all its own, brimming with many great shops, restaurants, bakeries, cafes, pubs etc.

The house itself is great, well provisioned and very comfortable.

You could not choose better and the hosts are really ‘on it’.

A little bit of paradise!

We had a great stay at the Villa! It has wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces with beautiful views! The owners were delightful and very helpful with suggestions of things to do! It is only a 15 minute walk to the ferry and 5 minutes to the buses - transportation system in Sydney is outstanding! I would highly recommend this Villa!

Absolute Gem 10 STARS

LOCATION. 10 star.

Public Transport, views, amenities, household furnishings, owners, village atmosphere, historical neighborhood. Also 10 Star.

We could not have chosen better. Everything was excellent and it is well worth the price for all of the above reasons.

Better than being right in the city, as in Downtown, the ambience here is much better and quite frankly it only takes a few minutes by Ferry ( get "WOW factored" every time going under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and right past the Opera House) and you are in the middle of everything the city has to offer or 1 stop to Darling Harbour, also spectacular and lots of tourist sights. So easy to get everywhere and just 20 from the airport. Brilliant.

10 STARS on Location and Customer Service that comes with this property!!!!

Our family of 5 stayed here. Giacomo was there to greet us. It wasn't long before we also met Lyn. They are both really lovely people - very caring and genuinely wanted us to have a good experience - which we did! They took care of all our needs without delay. WE LOVED HIS HOME - outside patios for dining and great views. Each morning we woke to see yet another Cruise Ship docked across the road. On our Sky Tower SkyWalk tour we were even able to see Giacomo's home from 1,000 feet in the air! We had a good giggle about that. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen (around the table as we always do) -- everything thing was available to set the mood -- music, coffee pots of all kinds (love my morning coffee!), etc. We even cooked a few meals and had everything we needed. When you enter the property, Giacomo has a GUEST BOOK full of useful information that you might need once you arrive. I also received multiple emails prior to make everything easier - including ideas on things to do, places to eat, buses to take to the CBD and Bondi Beach, etc. I have no reservations at all about saying - 'Stay here and you will have no regrets'. Giacomo, sorry again about the wicker chair. Hope you found time to mend it.

By the way, if you are looking for things to do & see here are some of our favorites: Sydney SkyWalk (this is more than just the observation deck) as you walk OUTSIDE the building, the Boathouse Restaurant on Manly is just awesome (breakfast and lunch only), a short walk from the Ferry Stop, also loved the walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee. Running out of space unfortunately. I loved my stay here bottom line - Hope you do too! Cheryl

Location is one of the most important yet difficult things to assess when choosing a property for a visit to any City but for those like yourselves that primarily want to visit Sydney's most famous sights and tourist destinations you can't beat where we are located. We know it and so do our clients once they come and stay. We are just so close to everything with a great public transport system serving our area and let's face it , you can't beat going into the city or Darling Harbour on the Ferry which passes under the Harbour Bridge and right by the Opera House. Excellent Location and Hosts!

We had a wonderful experience staying at Lyn & Giacoma's house. Giacoma was great at communicating with us prior to our arrival and with providing us a wealth of information during our stay. He was also extremely accommodating with checking in early after our extremely long journey from the United States.

The location is excellent. We loved having breakfast on the elevated front porch while watching the cruise ships dock directly in front of the house. East Balmain has a Woolworth grocery store as well as a BWS liquor store for all your shopping needs. There are also plenty of great local restaurants there. A :20 walk down to the bottom of Darling Street will take you to the ferry where you can catch a quick ride to Darling Harbor, Pyrmont Bay, or Circular Quay. You can walk to just about any place in downtown from those three locations. It's a nice walk to the fish market from Pyrmont Bay. There are also lots of restaurants and bars just south of the Pyrmont Bay station. From Circular Quay you can walk to the opera house and the Royal Botanical Gardens. If you have a car, make sure to go to Bondi Beach to do the cliff walk. The views are absolutely amazing. Another must do suggested by Giacoma was to have breakfast in Manly at The Pantry. It is right on the beach. Both the views and the food are amazing. It is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Parking is extremely difficult in Manly, even early in the morning because everyone arrives early to go to the beach. There is a parking garage on Gilbert Street near Belgrave Street that is an easy walk to The Pantry.

I highly recommend Lyn & Giacomo's house. We absolutely loved Australia and would most definitely stay at this house again if we ever return to Sydney.

Owner's Response: Thanks Margaret, I always smile about the parking situation at Manly Beach. It is tricky if you don't live here but there are parking stations nearby. Even when I go surfing there I sometimes have walk a bit further than I would like with my board, but it is beautiful and worth the effort. Thanks for taking such good care of our house and I'm glad your party found everything so close at hand and that the location is just perfect and as described on the website. The best place to stay in Sydney

Our family of six had an amazing experience while staying at Lyn and Giacomo's home. The location is magnificent. They are extremely organized with all their information. They help with suggestions on public transportation, taxis, Uber, groceries, restaurants, and all that Sydney has to offer. The home itself is spacious, immaculate, and very easy to navigate. We were all extremely comfortable and would have loved to stay longer. I can recommend this home about reservation.
