Pier extending to and over the water for fishing or viewing the beautiful lake and sunset. Camp PATASA also has a separate deck nearer to the house to sit and drink coffee in the mornings or your favorite beverage in the evening with your special friend or family. You can also launch your boat from the community launch. Or, you can launch at a private launch but you must not leave your vehicle or trailer there. Both are just a few blocks away from the Camp. Amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the camp! Such an amazing view, and very peaceful. We loved being able to catch fish right off of the dock! It’s a private camp, but still centrally located to almost everything. The owner was also extremely friendly, helpful, and quick to answer. We have zero complaints, and will absolutely be back! Thanks for allowing us to stay here!!

Outstanding Location and very nice house

  • 4 of 5

I enjoyed the labeling of all the drawers and switches. It a little thing, but nice touch. A/C and heater (yes, we used both in five days) worked great, The cleaning station on the pier was a noice touch also. Owner was very responsive and pleasant to talk to and he answered promptly the several question we had regarding the facility.

Entirely unsatisfactory and very disappointing for numerous reasons, a discredit to VRBO.

We truly cannot understand how so many reviews rated this favorably with 4 or even 5 stars. We can only assume other guests have very low expectations for rental properties on Toledo Bend. The dishwasher never worked ( had to hand wash dishes for our crew of 9 the entire time). Not enough utensils for more than 6 people at a time (even though advertised to accommodate 14 guests). Live roach was found in convection oven. Exposed outdoor water line broke the second day, significantly reducing water pressure inside and creating muddy mess near landing (since it wasn't repaired despite running for the last 2 days of our stay). Broken recliner. Filthy (probably 50 years old) fold-away bed upstairs. There were ugly, tasteless signs scrawled in marker on paper scraps taped above door handle and on fireplace mantle ( "Do not Lock Knob," "Fire place Logs Only"). There is an unreasonable requirement that we provide "3 mil" trash bags for the trash bin (these are not available at local grocery or convenience stores, requiring a special trip out of the way trip to a hardware store to purchase). There was broken glass on the back porch and miscellaneous items of trash strewn throughout the yard. (Our children often play outside on porches and grass barefoot. Therefore this was a serious potential health hazard to them.) Based on what we paid for our 4 night stay as compared to other rentals around the country we have stayed at, we had much higher expectations for basic functioning of appliances and cleanliness. Having conveyed in extensive detail all these concerns described above to the owner while we were still there, we would have expected some repairs and such as the broken dishwasher and busted water line to be addressed immediately since this adversely affected our experience during our four night stay. Based on falling far short of the accommodations advertised, we expected a significant refund, assuming these problems were merely honest mistakes on the part of the owner. We did receive a refund of less than 5%--far less than expected given how profound and extensive nature of our dissatisfaction was with the rental property. We definitely will not stay here again, and cannot recommend it to anyone else. We certainly would not have stayed here had we been aware of even 1/3 of the problems. We sincerely hope other potential renters benefit from our sincere attempt to provide honest oversight and that the owners remedy the defects.

Owner's Response: Damon C., I am somewhat taken aback by your derogatory remarks. I do acknowledge that the underground pipe near the pier was still exposed from a pvc break and washout caused by the severe freeze and rainy weather we had a few days before you arrived. The previous tenants that were at the camp when it broke temporarily repaired it and brought it to our attention as well as a window pane one of his family members broke. He never mentioned to us any trouble with the dishwasher. I was able to secure the services of a repairman to fix the broken pipe and window the following week just before your family arrived. In our numerous phone calls during your stay, I informed you that I attempted to get a repairman out for your break and dishwasher issues but could not find one that was available. I told you it was quite difficult to find a repairman on the lake especially on weekends. Had you asked to leave at that time, I would have totally understood and refunded the unused days. But you choose to stay the entire 4 days. Also, while reviewing our emails, I noticed something intriguing. When you first arrived with your wife and 7 kids you wrote, "We just arrived. Nice place." "What is the code for the paddle boat lock?" (Our private paddle boat which is near the pier and near the water line that later broke.) You made no mention of the water line being broken nor of glass being scattered on the porch. In fact you only mentioned the water line breaking 2 days after you arrived. Regardless, it has again been fixed with pex pipe. We did find the dishwasher discharge line clogged and cleared it out. We also found a couple of small pieces of broken glass in the crack between the porch and house slabs, hardly a "serious potential health hazard" in my humble opinion. Next, we were unable to find the live roach you saw but did spray again. I do plan on replacing the hand written signs. Kenneth P.

We enjoyed our time at the lake. The house has a great view, nice dock and very comfortable accommodations. Very family-friendly with lots of games and books.
