Step into this stylish little cottage and be greeted by lofty ceilings in both the bedroom and living room, creating an open and airy ambiance. Outside, you'll find a charming front porch adorned with a swing and a cafe table, offering the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the serene atmosphere of Thunderbolt.

Nestled amidst the serene coastal village of Thunderbolt, Georgia, Herrin Hideout is one of seven cottages in this peaceful enclave. You'll find yourself within easy walking distance of three exceptional restaurants and bars right from your cottage door. Moreover, our location offers convenient access to the scenic Intracoastal Waterway and the picturesque Wilmington River, just across the street.

Thunderbolt, at the heart of the Lowcountry, is a hidden gem. Situated along the Intracoastal Waterway on the outskirts of charming Savannah, Georgia, this town is a treasure trove of experiences. Explore the enchanting River Drive, savor the flavors of four locally-owned dining establishments, or embark on a kayaking adventure with our friendly local guides, who are also our neighbors.

The Village on the Bluff, a fresh and exciting development in Thunderbolt, spans half an acre of prime real estate. This idyllic village enclave is home to seven standalone cottages and a mixed-use building featuring two flats/condos and a ground-floor retail store.

Place was convenient. Overall it was a little on the dirty side. I pulled two plates out of the cabinet and both had left over food on them, no one has dusted on top of the fridge or dryer. The wallpaper is also peeling off the wall and you can see where the AC has leaked in the living room and straight down the wall onto the photo. Oh there is also mold in one of the closest, only seen it because I used the broom.. Place needs some TLC for sure.

Property felt very pet friendly. There was plenty of walking areas in the neighborhood. Even an empty lot across from the house for a quick bathroom break. Neighborhood felt safe enough to walk at any time of day. Even two restaurants within walking distance with patios. Only thing I wished for was another rug in the bedroom so the dog wouldn’t slip and slide so much. Enjoyed how private it felt too. Rarely did the dog feel the need to bark because there wasn’t much foot or car traffic.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While the location was nice, parking was good and house was roomy the cleanliness of the house was lacking. The dishes in the cabinets had food on most. The bed sheets had stains on them. The walls were stained with water damage from the AC along with the art on the wall bellow it. The bed and couch were both uncomfortable as well. When asked for feedback about the room feedback was given and other than confirmation in return that was about all I got. Not new sheets or anything.

The house is super cute, very cozy, squeaky clean and very comfortable for a couple. The location is very convenient, it’s a quick and easy ride away from downtown. It is in a nice quiet area, the porch is perfect to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine. And the swing is a very nice addition. The host is super easy to reach, responsive and proactive. Highly recommend this place and we will surely return!!!

The place was very clean and perfect for what we needed on our honeymoon!! Management was super nice and communicated every detail, everything ran very smoothly. The location of this place is perfect-with only 15 minutes to downtown Savannah, 15 minutes to Tybee, and the town within 5 minutes of the home everything was right where you needed it while feeling you were in a very secluded lake home! Tubbys tank house was a very short walk from the house, we enjoyed being able to quickly walk over and grab a bite to eat. Overall I would gladly stay here again! The perfect place for a nice get away!
