This delightful standalone cottage is thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials and boasts a captivating and playful interior decor that we're sure you'll adore just as much as we do! This cottage features all of the modern conveniences one could ask for - smart TV's, a full kitchen equipped with all essentials needed for home cooked meals, luxurious spa-like bathrooms, large closets and a plush bed.

Nestled amidst the serene coastal village of Thunderbolt, Georgia, Coastal Grandma Cottage is one of seven cottages in this peaceful enclave. You'll find yourself within easy walking distance of three exceptional restaurants and bars right from your cottage door. Moreover, our location offers convenient access to the scenic Intracoastal Waterway and the picturesque Wilmington River, just across the street.

Thunderbolt, at the heart of the Lowcountry, is a hidden gem. Situated along the Intracoastal Waterway on the outskirts of charming Savannah, Georgia, this town is a treasure trove of experiences. Explore the enchanting River Drive, savor the flavors of four locally-owned dining establishments, or embark on a kayaking adventure with our friendly local guides, who are also our neighbors.

The Village on the Bluff, a fresh and exciting development in Thunderbolt, spans half an acre of prime real estate. This idyllic village enclave is home to seven standalone cottages and a mixed-use building featuring two flats/condos and a ground-floor retail store.

I just loved this rental. I hope to keep coming back. Thunderbolt is charming. The cottage was perfect for our needs. It was close to the dog park at Daffin park too, so we took our little dog for play time there. Tubby's Tank House was yummy and so convenient as was Tortuga's and Erica Davis Lowcountry. We ate seafood every day. The only criticism is that the house is NOT the address listed or on River Road. It faces Bannon. You turn down a driveway next to the listed address to find the cluster of these darling little houses. When I tried to order food for delivery, they NEVER found us.

The unit big enough to feel like a home for a few days and not a hotel room. Great location easy access to a riverfront view within walking distance.Tybee Island and Historic Savannah are both a short drive. Restaurants and outdoor indoor dining within walking distance. The unit itself is new construction and is full of whimsical decor. Bed was comfortable and kitchen well equipped for light meals with full sized appliances and a dishwasher. The only drawback, the living room couch and chair were ok if you are not spending much time indoors. If you decide to sit and watch a movie on streaming you will be more comfortable with a pillow and seat on the floor, unfortunately. Beautiful well- lit exterior and off-street parking and landscaping in a quiet nice neighborhood. Ease of access to unit with code and a website with rules, instructions and helpful recommendations to sights and restaurants. Good reponse time from hosting company and easy to communicate by text or phone. Great stay overall!

Quiet getaway near the city and Tybee Island

Beautiful little home with all the amenities. Efficiently designed and thoughtfully decorated and outfitted for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants but in a quiet neighborhood. Short drive to the heart of Savannah and other attractions. We loved it!

Exactly as described!

My daughter and I were in town for the weekend visiting family and thunderbolt is perfectly located. The cottage is cute, clean and parking is close and convenient. I will say that the weekend was unusually cold and there were no blankets except for little throws on the couch. My daughter said the shower made a screeching sound but I didn’t hear it. Will definitely stay here again!

Excellent Location

Reservation/check in was easy. Easy to find instructions provided. The location was perfect for getting to Savannah or Tybee Island. Perfect size for 2 people. Air conditioning works very well. Plenty of supplies for cooking. Peaceful porch to sit on and relax. Very quiet in the cottage, you will not hear cars driving by or noises from outside. Tubby's is just down the road, excellent place to eat. Basics supplied such as salt/pepper, trash bags, dishwasher soap, shampoo/conditioner, paper towels, toilet paper. Two closets in the bedroom that are fairly large. Iron and ironing board, hair dryer provided. At first it was difficult to find any issues with the cottage. But there are a few. The ceiling fans are on high and the cord to change the speed is so high up it's impossible to reach. So the ceiling fan is either on high speed or off. The dresser is large enough to hold items for 2 people. However, the drawers need to be repaired as they do not open/close smoothly. The biggest issue is the couch! It is extremely uncomfortable to the point where sitting on it even for a few minutes was too much. The cushions were pushed down in the front making you feel like you were going to slide off of the couch. No matter how many times you try to fix it, it doesn't help. The couch definitely needs to be replaced immediately. However, in spite of the few issues (even the couch), I would 100% stay here again. I would bring folding chairs to sit on instead of the couch.

It has just enough space for 2 people, a parking space right outside of the cottage, a great size bathroom with a washing machine and dryer, a very comfortable bed, an AC unit in the living room area and another in the bedroom that can both be adjusted, and there is a ton of space in the refrigerator and freezer. They provide you with a small bottle of dishwashing soap, a few soaps for the dishwasher, a small box of soap for the washing machine, a kitchen sponge, a roll of papertowels, 3 rolls of toilet paper, 2 packs of hand soap in the bathroom, a small tube of shampoo, conditioner and lotion in the bathroom, and a couple of towels. When we arrived the AC in the bedroom was leaking and there was water all over the floor. We called the front desk and Vernon with Maintenance was at the Cottage within 15-20 minutes. He was great! He fixed the problem, gave us advice on where to go while visiting, and he was very pleasant to talk to! Taking a shower was extremely unpleasant, though, as it made a very loud and unpleasant noise when the water was turned on. The area is overall pretty quiet and nice. It's a quick ride to Savannah. There is a WalMart and Publix about 5 minutes up the road. There are 2 restaurants on the street that the Cottage is on that you can walk over to. There is a river across the street with a sidewalk, and there are benches that you can sit on and enjoy the view, weather, etc. We really enjoyed it! Other than the shower noise, the only other issue that we had was the size of the pans while cooking. The pans are so small that you can't even cut strips of bacon in half and cook it unless you cook 2 or 3 pieces at one time. That's how small the pans are. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and we would stay here again (if the shower noise gets fixed).

The cottage was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The couch was kind of hard but we really didn’t hang out in the cottage much. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood. We didn’t cook or use the laundry but they had supplies, detergent, etc. if you wanted to. The location was convenient to the Historic district as well as to Tybee Island. We had a rental car and had no problems getting around. Parking was right next to the cottage.All in all it was great. We would stay there again.

Although you do have to drive downtown. Several very good restaurants right near the cottage. Nice place to stay.

Perfect for two!

You are in walking distance to amazing seafood and service at Tubby’s Tank House as well as calming views of the Wilmington River! A blink from River Street and two blinks to Tybee.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, this was a cute place to stay and fairly comfortable. It's a one bed/bath with a galley kitchen and combo living/dining space. The "dining" table was super small and couldn't accommodate the dinner /drinkware of two people -we ended up putting our plates on the coffee table. The area is really pretty and not far from anything you'd like to do. The restaurant down the road (Tortugas) had not so great food for hyped up prices, and we didn't try Tubbys to avoid a repeat situation. I will say the instructions given via email are terrible and don't match anything. The parking situation needs to be clearly defined, as no one seems to know where to park and the spaces are not clearly defined. Directions to this particular cabin are also awful. The wi-fi name and password on the site are incorrect for the unit, and they really should include the map they have inside the unit to help people find the place (we had to call) Checkout was easy although I started getting Checkout messages a full two days before I was due to leave, and at one point the cleaning crew opened up the unit to clean in error (I was barely dressed and on my computer at the table, awkward) so I think their communication needs improvement. A guide to where certain supplies are kept would also be great... I was looking everywhere for garbage bags, and the entire roll was actually in the garbage pail. Stuff like that was annoying but I liked my stay overall.
