The house is settled in Guardia Mangano a village in the district of Acireale, small ancient thermal town situated at the foot of Mount Etna on the eastern coast of Sicily, about 20 km north of Catania. The last reconstruction of the town - after the earthquake in 1693 - has given a splendid Baroque look to Acireale. In the surroundings you can admire amazing landscapes offered by the volcanic hinterland and view of the next fishing-villages like Santa Tecla, Stazzo, Pozzillo, Santa Maria la Scala situated at the foot of the 'Timpa', a ridge of millennial layers of lava overlapped covered by a typical rich vegetation. It's a strategically superb position. The airport is 25 km away, the motorway 5 km and the SS114 only 0.5 km away. From here it's easy to reach the Lemons Riviera and the wonderful Cyclops Riviera with its old fishing villages (Acitrezza and Acicastello). Taormina and the 'Gole' of the River Alcantara, all tourist attractions known for their natural beauty, are within a 20 minute drive.The whole scene is dominated by the awe-inspiring hulk of Mount Etna rising up in all her majesty. The north and south faces of Etna can be reached easily in little more than half an hour. Car hire is recommended but is possible to move by train: the railway station is few meters away from the B&B. In a day trip by car Siracusa, Piazza Armerina, Caltagirone, Vulcano, Lipari, Ragusa, Scicli, Modica, Cefalù can be reached too.
