When travelling I always hated picking up keys or remembering someone elses code. Allowing our guest to select a pin for their stay and no keys is our way of solving this problem. We try and make our customers experience before the visit as enjoyable as the stay while at our house. We hope to have you back again for another break soon.

It is great to hear that you had a great time exploring the Gros Morne! It sounds like you covered the key spots in your 3 days and that the park left you wanting to explore more. It is often that guests wish they had more time in Gros Morne. With the park being 2.5 hours across it is very tough to cover it all. Chateau Shady Loop is positioned right in the middle and that helps our guests spend more time exploring instead of driving. Even after years of exploring the area I continue to explore new places and not wanting to leave. I hope you have the chance to come back, soak in more of the Gros Morne air and explore again. Thanks for your feedback on our property. We are glad to hear that you had a quick response when you needed support. We have 2 property managers within a 5 minute walk of our house and they are always available to help the guests of Chateau Shady Loop. You are correct that the beach can is a short walk through a trail on our property or at the end of the road. It is worth the walk. Thanks for your review and for staying with us. Unfortunately someone did break the shower in the basement before your arrival and for your safety we put it off limits. The beauty of Newfoundland is its remoteness. I unfortunately shower parts don’t show up on next day on Amazon out here so everything takes time. The heat pumps on both floors manage temperature and himidity. The remotes are beside them both on the wall. In 13 years I’ve never heard of a humidity issue at our home but our property manager would been glad to come and check if something was wrong with the heat pumps. Those are the heating and cooling in the wall and also exchange air to manage humidity or whatever you wish. We have never heard this since so i guess not thanks for staying with us.

Laurel, Thanks for taking the time to fill our our review request. I'm glad to hear that you had a great vacation on the west coast! I'm extremely glad that you mention the comfortable beds! We worked hard to get 2 new queen size deluxe memory foam mattresses in this spring. Thanks! I'm very sorry to hear that our property manager was not responsive to your call about the hot tub. This is not normally the case as our guests have been very happy with her support when needed. Clearly that happened here and left you with a hot tub with no jets. For safety, the hot tub has a breaker outside by the tub that shuts it down in the event of a power failure. It needs to be reset after the power returns even if it is just a momentary power failure that you may not have seen. To best utilize your feedback I have a couple thoughts how we can prevent this for future guests: - We are going to add a page to our guide and try to put something by the tub controller that gives instruction to reset the breaker should the jets not function. - Even though our guests all have our home number we will look at setting up a different line to reach our property manager that will ring me and my wifes cell phone should she not be available at that moment. That way even if we are on vacation we can try and assist. Regardless, we are disapointed with this situation and regret that we were on vacation or we would have perhaps been able to assist when you could not reach our property manager. It can be quite difficult to plan a visit to Newfoundland if you don't have advice on how to spend your time. The island is so much bigger than what it looks like on a map.
