About this property

COZY Cabin for Couple Getaways-4 min to Hot Springs-Central to Utah's Mighty 5

Over 330 "5 star reviews" on another site. Romantic touches for couples to enjoy a perfect getaway. This cozy and charming little cabin was built by the owners from a historical "grainery". It is located at the base of Monroe Mountain and has spectacular views of mountains and STARS in all directions from the loft deck. We even have a telescope for you to use! If your idea of perfect is "quiet and relaxing" - we got you covered: Ambient lighting, electric candles, claw foot bath tub for soaking, comfy beds, hanging lounger on patio, futon for watching sunsets,

Sleeps 5 guests comfortably and is a perfect, relaxing home base for adventurers looking to explore Utah's Mighty 5 National Parks.

Exploring guests love RENTING our ONSITE UTV to enjoy Monroe Mountain, Monroe's popular hot springs, ATV trails, (no trailering to Paiute ATV trails) fishing, hiking, and wildlife all nearby. In summer months, it is amazing to be able to watch the para-gliders/hang-gliders land just across the street.

We will consider requests for 1 night stays.

ABOUT THE SPACE:
Walk out of the loft to relax on the upper deck with spectacular views of the Tushar Mountain range, The Cove Basin, Pahvant Mountain range and of course Monroe Mountain. Do some star gazing and enjoy roasting marshmallows and eating s’mores. Lounge on the front porch and watch the para-gliders and grill up a tasty dinner. Relax on an outdoor futon/pull out bed on the west side porch and take in the gorgeous sunsets. Eat breakfast on the patio on the table provided or it is a great place to "work from home" for those who like to work outside.
We also just created a comfy office space in the loft for those who need a "workspace".

We have one 6 seated ENCLOSED UTV (side by side) rental available with guests having first option for those wanting to explore. You won't get dirty, dusty, cold or hot unless you want to!

Next door but far enough away not to bother you is a SEASONAL RV park and the big "Red Barn". Jordan is the owner, and has added a "mini farm" for his and our guests to enjoy. Currently he has goats, calves, chickens (and rabbits are coming soon)! The RV Park office doubles as a a small convenience store with fountain drinks, hand scooped "creamery" hard ice-cream brought in from Provo, UT and a variety of old fashioned candy and treats. Make sure you visit the Red Barn, you will love meeting Jordan.

Some guests have wondered about the old white dairy barn that is about 50 yards behind the cabin. It was called the Hi Roe dairy barn was a co-op of 13 families, early dairy farmers that built and owned it together, including our ancestors. As it was a significant structure in Monroe, it was built right at the end of main street in Monroe. You will notice we have started purchasing building supplies and we have plans to rebuild the barn, just as this little cabin was rebuilt from an old grainery that was located on a different property in town. We are choosing to rebuild it into something cool versus demolishing it due to its historical significance. Many guests have enjoyed it as a perfect "photo" spot.

*Please note, the hammock that is pictured in one of the pictures has been replaced due to safely concerns with the cement underneath it. We have replaced it with a hanging lounge chair that can be moved to the location of choice depending on if you want to watch the sunrise and/or para-gliders in the East or the sunset in the West.

Guest access~
Door code is changed for each guest

There is ample parking around the cabin for ATV trailers, etc.

PETS... Dogs only please without special permission! Please don't "sneak" your pets in. We love our furry friends and love to take them with us when we travel and so you are welcome to bring them along as long as they are well trained and closely watched by their humans (Please maximum of 2 unless special permission is given). Pet fee will incur if necessary, see notes upon booking.

We are retired educations and have lived in Monroe since graduating from college over 30 years ago. We raise elk on a small elk ranch, have a small wedding venue in our yard, farm hay, enjoy riding our horses, and watching our 4 grandchildren grow up (soon to be 5!) We love to travel, enjoy spending time at our other cabin on Monroe Mountain, and meeting so many wonderful new people through our hosting. We want our airbnb to be a place of memories for our guests. We are very open to stay trades.

Why they chose this property

We live just up the road and love the views of the mountains from this property. We felt like this area of Monroe needed some attention, and hubby wanted a spot to complete his dream of building a cabin out of an old grainery he had acquired.

What makes this property unique

This little cabin is located on property that was once the home to thousands of milk cows (one of the wests first co-op dairys). We loved the thought of cleaning up the property that had become a town eyesore, and along with Jordan Mills (the RV park owner) the cleaning up began with the purchase. We are continually working to make the property better all the time. We are currently starting to rebuild the old dairy barn into a barndominium, complete with horse corrals and horse boarding.
