Escape to this home away from home and experience great views of the Purcell and Rocky Mountains whilst being less than a 5 minute drive to Invermere’s downtown, beaches, and two championship golf courses (Copper Point and Eagle Ranch)! A two km walk down Walker Lane takes you to your own private beach.

The main level has a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher which leads out to a deck with a BBQ and patio furniture; from which, you have magnificent views of a forest and a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. The kitchen leads into an open living area with lots of seating, including a sofa bed, and a half bathroom is situated off this living space.

There are three bedrooms on the upper level; the master bedroom has a king bed with spectacular valley and mountain view, an en-suite with double shower and bath with huge view window. The second bedroom has two single beds, and the third bedroom is has a queen bed. These two bedrooms share another four-piece bathroom.

There is a seperate suite in the basement, which is not part of the VRBO rental and is used an an Owners suite.

It is not always occupied as it is based on the owners schedule.

All linens, towels, paper and soap products are included. All you need to bring is your food!

Inveremere has something for everyone; boutique shops, coffee shops, bakery, farmer's market, quaint cinema, art galleries, spas, museum, supermarkets, deli, to name a few. There are lots of events going on throughout the year, as this area is a four season paradise!

Beautiful Lake Windermere has beaches with water sports, and the area has fabulous golf courses, including Grey Wolf at Panorama. Then of course there are the hot springs at Fairmont and Radium, to be enjoyed whatever the season.

Keep an eye out for the wildlife, deer and lots of bird species are regular visitors here!

Please note this is a mountain retreat and family home and is not approved for parties or large adult groups. Children and dogs are welcome.. Unfortunately cats are not allowed due to the owner severe allergies.

As there is an owners suite in the basement, we have quite time between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM to ensure everyone enjoys the weekend.

Also please note this is a Non Smoking Property. This means there is no smoking allowed in the house or on the property.

Come and enjoy the clean mountain air in a quite environment.

We are two professionals in our late fifties and early sixties who enjoy everything about the outdoors during all seasons of the year.

Why Bettywyn and Tom Chapman chose Lake Windermere

This location provides us with an activity center for our hiking, quading, swimming, kayaking, rafting, water skiing, snow skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and ice skating. We are surrounded by golf courses which our friends use, but we are too busy with other activities to have time to golf.

What makes this house unique

We are avid skiers and snowboarders who frequent Kicking Horse Resort in winter. We use our boat on Lake Windermere, and enjoy bird watching in the Columbia Wetlands. We regularly go to the Saturday Farmer's Market on Main Street through July and August. We walk our dog 1.5 km down Walker Lane to the lake. One of our favorite eateries is Ray Ray's, a lovely lakeside restaurant with outside seating, excellent food and great service.

Beautiful home!

Nice home on the inside, plenty of room! Only recommendation would be to tidy up the front porch and back deck with fresh paint to give it added curb appeal.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review and the recommendation. We have been waiting for the booking level to drop to a point where we can do the painting. We painted the front deck this past weekend and will be doing the same for the back deck before the end of September. Again thanks for the feedback. Great property, amenities and location, but issues with property managers made for poor experience.

Wonderful property in a great location, as advertised. The home had all the amenities we needed and was modern and well kept.

Unfortunately, we had a negative experience when the property managers entered the home unannounced, without notice and began berating us for making noise and a perception that we were "trashing" the property. After this confrontation which including threats of eviction, the experience was quite a negative one. The following evening, we received a noise complaint from the property managers as they were staying in the basement suite. We were simply using the television and socializing on the main floor past 11pm... which had to come to an end, even though there were parties in neighboring households that were generating noise that could be heard outside of their respective properties. This was not the case with our property.

The property managers apologized for the interaction that occurred the first day and were pleasant to deal with afterwards, but we would unfortunately not recommend staying at this property.

Owner's Response: First, I am surprised by the review, as we started out with our differences and after establishing clear expectations we felt we had ended on a positive note. If anyone takes notice of this review you will find all of our previous reviews have a five star rating and only compliments. Unfortunately based on the review provided above, we feel compelled to respond and make public what I thought we could keep private between a two groups of adults. We have never in all the years we have been renting (35 years) had a group of young adults make so much noise and yell and scream and jump around upon entering the property as what this group did when they returned from a day of golf. Both myself, a professional engineer and my wife a registered nurse were completely surprised and deeply concerned by the noise, jumping on the floor and furniture and yelling that was happening at the time. We felt based on the what we could hear that there may have been a fight taking place. Based on this observation, we knew we had to confront the behavior immediately before someone was hurt or any damage was done to the property. We confronted them immediately and we were clear that if they did not behave properly that we would have no other choice but to evict them immediately. It was apparent that they had been drinking and had just returned from a day of golfing. They settled down and two of them came down about a half hour later to our downstairs suite and apologized nicely. Once expectations had been discussed and agreed upon the rest of the weekend went well. Initially we provided an assessment based on their performance in the last half of the weekend after their behavior returned to normal and decided to let the initial behavior go unmentioned. In addition this is a non-smoking property and we found cigar butts thrown down from the balcony above onto our private space. They admitted to smoking cigars on the back porch which is a clear violation of our no-smoking rules. Once again, the situation we had to confront was one we have not had to deal with in all of our years of renting. It is unfortunate this situation happened and we will endeavor to screen people better in the future, and set clearer expectations for people staying at our property. We clearly communicate our home is not a party house and we have an owner's suite in the basement. We also have a quite time between 11PM and 7:00AM to show mutual respect to others. We would not rerent to this person.

Fantastic for a getaway

This is a great property and very happy we stayed here. Stayed for the Easter long weekend with 5 adults and it was plenty of room. There is a large back deck with a nice barbecue and a view of the mountains & a field frequently filled with deer. It is in a quite neighborhood with plenty of parking on the street right outside the door. There was lots of room for all to relax in the comfortable living room, eat at the table and island or room for 2-3 cooks in the nicely stocked kitchen. 3 comfy bedrooms up stairs and loads of linens and towels. The owners were very easy and a pleasure to deal with and would gladly recommend the rental for any length of stay. Just don't book next Easter, because we will gladly be back!

Clean, organized, quiet

We were very happy with our stay last summer. The house was clean and had nice rooms upstairs. The living room and kitchen were well equipped and were very inviting. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!
