I lived and owned in the neighborhood for over 7 years, I had a short commute to work and enjoyed all of the benefits of a large city but still had the charm of a small suburb.
Owner purchased this House in 2007
Why Owner chose Rosedale
When I left the area for a new job I didn't want to give up the city life. I enjoy coming back dining in the same restaurants and seeing the shows and museums in the area.
What makes this House unique
When I stay at the property it is my home away from home with all the amenities I enjoy. When I stay at other places I find myself comparing my place to where I am staying...I realize my house might not be your house but a comfortable bed, clean linens, an inviting neighborhood, kids that are happy is what I strive for, I enjoy coming back to the area and settling in for a moment in time to enjoy my family and relax.
Sports & Adventure Activities
So nice to sit on the front porch and relax.
Perfect location to quickly get to anywhere.
This place is perfect everything was wonderful! And super happy they allow dogs.
Very clean and comfy
Older place but very clean and comfortable. Plenty of extra towels and blankets as well. It was perfect for our weekend stay.
Clean, cozy, close to the fun!
While we were a little bit worried from looking at the house from the outside, the inside was clean and well maintained. The twin bunks were a little bit uncomfortable but the main room bed was super comfortable. This was our first VRBO experience and we were left with a good impression. So much easier and convenient than a hotel!
Met our needs
We stayed at this house with a 2 adults and 3 children to see the area.
Of note, I was searching for Kansas City, MO on Homeaway, and, when I booked this house, the address is in Kansas. What?@!, how could I possibly mess that up!? Well, it turns out that Kansas City MO and Kansas City KS are right next to each other, and this house is very close to the MO border and the attractions we wanted to see, so it wasn't a problem. So why two distinct cities share the exact same name and are confusingly right next to each other, I have no idea.
OK, back to the house, it was a cozy (for 5 people anyways) updated older home, though 5X better than a hotel as you have 2 bedrooms, living/dining area, and well equipped kitchen. Also, it was interesting to try out Google Fiber, which offers both internet and TV. The Google TV menu is different, and probably makes simple sense to a computer programmer, but it's workable (I.E. my kids got it to work for them). There's a grocery store, PriceChopper, 5 minutes away. I could always park in front. The house is a few blocks off a more industrial area, it's not a posh community here. I would guess it's a blue collar neighborhood. I had no safety concerns whatsoever. I didn't hear the neighbors, loud booming music from cars, sirens...etc, it was relatively quiet.
Things we did:
Harry Truman Museum - Very good!!!
Nelson-Atkins Museum (very large art museum and sculpture garden)
Joes Kansas City BBQ (very popular bbq that's a gas station as well, big portions)
Money Museum - Federal Reserve Bank Kansas City (you can watch automated forklifts move pallets of money around and people operating large money machinery)
WW1 Memorial (next to Money Museum)
This house met our needs, I would call it a value booking, and would definitely book again if in the area.
Great location, great house
As others have said when you pull up it doesn't look like much, but the house itself is great. It was clean and is furnished well and was adequate for our family of 7 (one of which is a baby).
It is in a central location close to many attractions. We went to Lego Land and Sea Life and it was easy to get to and from the house. The train was not an issue for us at all and though the neighborhood looks sketchy we had no issues. We would definitley stay again if we were going to be in the area.
