|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Stunning beach front property, meticulously landscaped with open air raised pergola, pool & sunbathing deck, screened in patio (sea side), open air patio (sea side), landscape lighting, coral rock walls, rich with deep tropical vegetation throughout the property. The sea water is fifteen feet and eight steps away from the appropriately decorated screened-in attached over sized patio area. The interior decorating is absolutely breath taking and the beds, couches and chairs are comfortable. This is an extreme high end house. This has been my house for the last eight years and i'm going to be traveling in 2014 / 2015 so i've decided to rent.
This is the only rental house on the island in the section where the resorts, hotels and condos are located and where you have the complete property to yourself.
Your view will be from a raised beach area to the reef protected sea on the South Side / West End of Cayman Brac. There are several fishing and dive boats moored in front of the house adding to the beautiful water scene for you to enjoy everyday.
This house was built by a doctor in 1997 and the couple made it there residence for ten years. I purchased the house in 2007 and in 2009 moved in and made it my residence for the last six years. This house offers EVERYTHING you could want. Beautiful furniture, fixtures and decorations throughout. Complete with stainless steel appliances, large flat screen TV's with RGB and HDMI connections for your laptops - connect to a 1000 watt home theatre system, Ipod dock, High Speed Wireless internet. A computer printer with paper and extra cartridges, central a/c, dishwater, blender, coffee maker with timer, microwave, washer, dryer, Complete with linens, bath and beach towels. Everything is here!
The property offers three bedrooms in the main house. The property caretaker resides in a studio apartment in the detached garage. She can be hired to do cooking, cleaning, laundry and she makes an awesome pina-colada. See additional information below. Tile floors and high end fixtures throughout. Fully equipped with all of the amenities one would expect from a finer home.
The master bedroom (king size bed) has it own change and bath area and it opens on the opposite side to the sea through two Anderson full glass patio doors. The doors open to a covered open air patio. When the wind blows you can open the doors and be put to sleep by listening to the gentle waves hit the shore as the tropical breeze flows through the room.
There’s plenty of shade and tropical breeze as you relax in the seats or recline in the chase loungers under the large raised open air pergola which is fifteen feet from the water. The pergola is surrounded by mature coconut trees and other lush vegetation, the front is kept open so as not to distract from the view of the ocean. You could also take a little nap in one of the hammocks, perhaps the one ten feet from the water tied between two coconut trees.
The vrbo map is a little off. This property is located where the letter 'J' is displayed. I've tried to fix this but the people at vrbo tell me there is nothing that can be done.
Cayman Brac, British West Indies, is a sister island to the highly developed island of Grand Cayman. The ‘Brac’ has managed to remain unspoiled. This is the perfect antidote to the over-programmed resort vacation. Explore the island with its many hidden treasures while relaxing in your private retreat. Be it rock climbing, caving, shelling, diving, fishing, snorkeling, bird watching, hiking, walking the shore line, or just plain relaxing you will have a vacation to remember. Enjoy the peaceful quiet and easy island pace in a totally modern and comfortable house that will immediately become your home.
You can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas and maddening crowds. Your tropical tranquil ocean front vacation home is just feet from the Caribbean waters. You can enjoy the ocean breeze while soaking in the sun and being mesmerized by the breath taking Caribbean turquoise waters and sapphire surf just feet from your door. Listen to the never-ending rhythm of the gentle rolling waves and feel the cooling breezes as you enjoy the warm sunshine and stunning sunsets any time of the year. There is plenty of privacy and you'll enjoy the small yellow songbirds and the island's native brown booby and frigate birds that seem to enjoy the lush, tropical surroundings. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. The low temperature of the water in mid winter is 78F so you can swim all year long. The most difficult part of your vacation will be packing your sandals and leaving this absolute tropical paradise and the fine comfortable accommodations of the house.
Stores are closed on Sunday so for those who will be arriving after 6:30 PM on Saturday or on Sunday we will do your shopping and there is no charge for our time.
Also for your benefit I have arranged for those who desire to rent a car - a special deal with a car rental agency. For those who will be renting for seven day you will get the seventh day free.

I grew up in south New Jersey in the States and always loved being in the sun by water and palm trees. I've always traveled and I vacationed here several years ago. When I retired at age 48 I returned to purchase a property. Now I have two properties one on the south side and I am renting the one on the north side. The water is just incredible and now I'm a certified Scuba Diver and just can't get enough of it. The Coral Reefs are amazing and can be experienced by just snorkeling. I can't ever imagine returning to the States. This place is nothing like Florida with its millions of people and chain retail.
Henry Barbera purchased this villa in 2007
Cayman Brac is a magical place where you can walk about in the middle of a star lit night and have not a single worry of crime or annoyances. Your family is safe here and you can feel it as the locals will wave to everyone including you. Very few people lock their houses and almost everyone will leave their car keys in the ignition 24/7 and that’s a fact. This Island is so special it has become a vacation destination for folks who live on other Caribbean Islands. The stars will make you stop in your tracks as there is very little background lights to dim the skis. You will see shooting stars and satellites orbiting the earth, you can clearly see the band of the Milky Way. This is a Scuba divers paradise with several dive boats operating daily. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. This is an island of a thousand people but we do have a hospital and a few police officers. An officer's job here on the Island is the only job better than that of the old time Maytag repair man. They have to be bored out of their minds. If you want to vacation with thousands of other vacationers and to eat at the chain restaurants this is not for you. If you want tranquility and peacefulness with eighty degree weather and sunshine almost everyday this is your island. If you come once you'll be back. I am well traveled and I now live here full time on the Island. I could have moved anywhere but I wanted to live in true paradise and remove myself from the busy world out there. Many people come once and end up buying property before they leave. Come here and you'll see why.
THIS IS THE ONLY VILLA ON THE ISLAND IN THE REEF PROTECTED AREA. THIS AREA WAS SOUGHT AFTER BY THE HOTELS, RESORTS, DIVE CENTERS, AND MOST RESTAURANTS BECAUSE IT IS REEF PROTECTED WHICH MAKES IT THE VERY BEST LOCATION ON THE ISLAND. YOU WILL NOT FIND THOSE TYPES OF ESTABLISHMENTS ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE ISLAND.

BLACKBEARDS' LANDING IS THE VERY BEST OF THE VERY BEST.
First of all, kudos to Henry for a wealth of information about the property and Cayman Brac. Upon booking we received detailed information to help us prepare for our trip. Even though Brac is part of a British Colony, things do operate differently than the US. We traveled with three adult couples and this is a perfect spot for this many adults. The house was great with three nice bedrooms, a great sized living room, wonderful screened in porch, adjacent pool and pergola. Plenty of room to congregate but plenty of room for "private space."
The kitchen is large and well equipped and has lots of spices for the home cook. We cooked brunch for the group and each night had a pitcher of tropical drinks and appetizers on the screened in porch and watched the sunset. The island is very quiet and slow paced and the house is extremely private. Although there is a condo unit next door, we saw very few people.
The lagoon in front of the house is a great place to kayak (provided by Henry) and a good place to snorkel. It is a extremely scenic property with good views everywhere. An extra touch - the palm trees are wrapped with LED lights (solar) and a sundown they automatically light up - gorgeous.
Sasha was a delight. She met us at the airport and drove us to the house (we rented a car - RECOMMENDED), cooked for us (don't leave without eating her conch fritters), advised us on restaurants and was available via house phone at anytime.
Be advised that food is expensive but we never had a bad meal. Beer and pizza at the Buccaneer is a must and the BBQ at the Brac Reef Dive Resort on Friday night was a great way to close out our week.
The Brac residents were always friendly and kind. The snorkeling at the end K. W. Tibbets Road on the north side is not to be missed. We also took an island tour. We drove up the North road through the communities, visited the Cayman Brac Museum, learned some local history, visited the lighthouse and the Parrot Preserve. We cut across and came back the South Road and drove to the end of the island. Very interesting.
I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, restful, private house to rent.
six of us - two couples and two single males - stayed here for a week. The house and grounds are absolutely fabulous! Right on the beach with a beautiful view, pool, hammocks, and screened porch. All appliances and A/C in perfect condition. Housekeeper right next door, and cooked several excellent meals for us.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The house and grounds are lovely. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We were so happy to partake of Sasha's cooking and cleaning, and everything she cooked for us was delicious! Grilled lobster, conch fritters, jerk chicken, etc. The location is very close to groceries, liquor store, and there is a little restaurant and bar a block away which was nice. We enjoyed riding bikes in the afternoons. This house has everything you need, and was very convenient. Henry arranged the car rental, and we were met at the airport and shown to the house. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place or people. Will definitely plan to book again!
One star for location. One star for peace and quiet, and one star for the owner who is very helpful and responsive.
This is in a beautiful location. It was our first time on Brac and I just love it there.
I wish the place was left a little cleaner for our stay. Corona bottle caps scattered around the property was probably left from the previous visitor along with the ashtray and cigs by the pool. The pool had a greasy film around the water line and I asked the caretaker to clean it a few times to no avail.
I had to take out the drawer from the freezer and hose it down outside because it had frozen yuk on it. The caretaker said she didn't have time to clean it. I also had to wipe down the fridge as it had an old food odor.
I wish the lighting was better because I couldn't read in the evening. The bed linens could use replacing and although the owner responded quickly to my complaint of ants, due to two days of rain, the exterminator had to wait for good weather. The giant ants were in the kitchen, bathroom and even the bedroom. I saw a small little lizard in the bathroom but didn't bother with him because I figured there was plenty for him to eat.
I think for the money we spent, there was too much to deal with. We are a clean, easy going couple. Getting away for a vacation takes a lot of planning and organizing on our end due to ill family members, pets, etc... I came home rejuvinated but disappointed with some of the things we had to deal with. I've stayed in tropical accommodations many times and routine extermination by professionals usually keeps bugs at bay.
STUNNING beach front villa, all for us. Beach all to ourselves. Condos next door but never saw a soul. This house does indeed offer everything you could wish for, including Sasha. Henry was so helpful with all the tips for what to bring, cars rented ahead of visit, and checking to make sure we were pleased. Plenty of shade for these pale skinned people not to burn, from coconut trees to sun screens over pool. Landscaping was beautiful-like being on a tropical island! Grandkids kayaked, fished, swam, snorkeled, fell in pool and watched Elmo videos and World Cup games. Visited the light house on the "Brac" bluff where drop off to ocean is 140 feet. Very dramatic. Nature galore and such sweet people call this island home. If you are looking for a peaceful island without tourist traps, Cayman Brac is the place. Thanks Henry for sharing your abode.
My family of 4 stayed at this property in 2013. It is a beautiful large private house, with all possible accommodations, on the beach, and within walking distance to dive shop and local bar/restaurant. It comes with use of paddle boards and kayaks, fishing poles, fins/snorkels, bikes, you name it.... Waterfront is reef protected area, so water fun is always available. We fell in love with this island from this trip, so. Ugh, that we booked for 2014 as well. Owner has other rental properties as well, which are equally awesome. Highly recommend this island, owner, and Brac Shack dive facilities within walking distance.
snorkel, lounge by the water, relax in the open air pergola, enjoy the hammock between the two coconut trees, bean bag game, kayak, bicycles, bbq, fishing, restrurant (good food!) and bar seventy yards away. world class scuba diving and snorkelling
