Hi! I'm Niamh and I'm Irish. Myself and my husband Frank built this dream home here in our favorite part of Ireland, after visiting the area for many years. We feel so lucky to own this wonderful home by the sea in such a truly magical place! We love being in Dingle!
Niamh purchased this House in 2007
Why Niamh chose County Kerry
It is a luxury house next to a stunningly beautiful quiet beach. It has amazing 360 degree views and a big private garden. The wonderful 'Dingle Wildlife and Seal Sanctuary' (with cafe/lakeside seating) is just down the road and the house is very close to Dingle. Dingle is an amazing place! This area has it ALL: Ocean, stunning beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers, islands and a vibrant town. Wonderful restaurants, bars and great music too. So much to see and do here, it caters to all tastes and ages.
What makes this House unique
The name of our house is 'Didean' (in Irish) which means Haven and it truly is that! Its only a 2 minute stroll to the most beautiful secluded beach, 1.5 miles to the Wonderful 'Dingle Wildlife and Seal Sanctuary' and only 7 minutes drive to the magical town of Dingle, with all it's shops, restaurants, bars and special attractions!

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation. Didean was a perfect home base to set out for day trips or to head into Dingle for a few hours. The home was lovely and easily accommodated our family which included 6 adults and 5 children. The kids had the best time running around in the plush yard playing Capture the Flag and other games. They also enjoyed watching movies at night in the upstairs den...
There are so many things we loved about our stay: The visiting cows, the breathtaking views, the very friendly dogs roaming all over and the friendly people we met everywhere. Our adventures took us to on driving tours of the Slea Head and Connor Pass with stops to hold a baby lamb and see where Star Wars was filmed. We also spent a day at Inch Beach where you can drive on the beach and have lunch at Sammy's. Other fun things we did with the kids in Dingle was going to an Irish Football game, playing Soccer Golf, going to the park in town, listening to Irish music at several of the pubs - The Marina Inn, John Benny's, Foxy John's and others. We also explored The Crag Cave (Tralee) and the absolute highlight of the week - going to the Blasket Islands.... an amazing experience.
Rain or Shine, this was a wonderful trip - the landscape in this particular part of Ireland is stunning ...
Thank you, Frank and Niamh for sharing your home with us.
The perfect family-friendly house to really experience breathtaking Dingle!
The location is truly superb - ocean views to the front and mountain views from every other room! Short drive to Dingle town, but also nicely placed for doing the Conor Pass or Slea Head drives....highly recommended. There were twelve of us altogether, 8 adults and 4 kids and everyone had more than enough space. The house is beautifully finished throughout and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful spacious kitchen, two tv rooms, heating was perfect. So much care and attention has been given to every room and beds extremely comfortable. Never a queue for the bathroom as two rooms were en-suite and the rest had own bathroom next door. Niamh and Frank were very fair and accommodating, and their house exceeded our expectations in every way. We could not fault a single thing and will definitely consider visiting again!
Luxury in Ireland!
We loved our stay here! We had 15 people and it accommodated us perfectly. We had 5 kids, which meant people were awake/sleeping at all different times, and it was perfect because the house has doors to close off so many parts of the house - tons of quiet places to sleep! Beds are comfy, everything is well kept and updated, a beautiful beach just a short walk away, hiking trail in the hills overlooking cliffs and the ocean, horses and cows to vist, and a short drive to the town of Dingle. We wish we were back there now!
Perfect located house for big families / groups
We booked the house from 28th October to 4th November. 2 families inclusive grandparents (9 adults and 5 children). The house is very well equipped, very clean and modern. There´s a big kitchen with a lot of space, 2 fridges and many other modern kitchen appliances. The house with a big garden is located apart from the main street so there´s no problem to let the children play outside. You can reach Dingle in about 10 minutes by car. Dingle is a nice little town with many pups, a big supermarket, quite a few other shops, cafes and a nice port. At the port you can book fishing trips with the boat to catch your own fish for dinner. Not to forget to visit Fungi, the famous dolphin from Dingle-Bay. Altogether again a very nice holiday in Ireland. We will come back definitely.
Sascha + family from Germany
Thanks for your lovely review Sascha. We are delighted that you enjoyed it so much. Thanks for your kind words about the house. Yes its so convenient for Dingle and the spacious garden is great for kids. Being so close to the beach really is what makes this house really special. We look forward to welcoming you back! All the best, Niamh and Frank
Our Bit of Irish Paradise
Didean was a perfect place to stay and explore the Dingle Peninsula. We were 5 women celebrating 2, 60th birthdays. The house is lovely, set on a hillside surrounded by sheep and cows on three sides and the ocean on the other side. We had our own beach so private and could hear the surf at night. The house it's self was perfect! Large comfortable bedrooms with comfy beds, lots of bathrooms and 2 living room areas. The kitchen was well stocked and a joy to work in. We ate many of our meals at home sharing the cooking. The town of Dingle was very close (10mins) with great food and shops. Do not miss the aquarium, it was truly wonderful and riding on the beach with Long's Stable. We had one plumbing issue (a pump malfunctioned) Frank, our host, immediately took care of the problem, we were not inconvenienced. We ALL recommend this house as a very special place to spend your vacation and make wonderful memories.
Thanks so much Laura. Its lovely to hear how much you loved the house and its surroundings!
We have had many groups such as yours enjoying special birthdays or other occasions here and they've all been very happy, saying they'll treasure the memories for a lifetime!
Yes its wonderful to hear the waves at night or to stand on the deck with the lights off to view the amazingly clear stars.
Thanks for your praise on our fast response to the pump issue. We do endeavour always to get any issue rectified immediately so that our guests have a wonderful time! Many thanks again.

The Perfect Dingle Getaway
It was a perfect time with family and friends in my great grandmother's home town. It's perfectly situated (not too close or far from town) and feels wonderfully spacious and cozy at the same time. The location is ideal, just a short walk to the beach and the local rolling green hills, ocean, cows and sheep provided hours of relaxed enjoyment. The kitchen is a chef’s delight and all beds are very comfortable. With 11 people, no one felt crowded. The two parlors/TV rooms and patio were a plus. The hosts were very welcoming and provided a lot of useful information including the local taxi services that were also always informative and a pleasure as was the neighboring farmer. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this home.
Thanks so much for your great review Deborah. Yes the location of the house is perfect - it really does have everything, as you described so well. Yes the cab service here is great and its also such a quick an easy drive into Dingle, which makes it the ideal location. We are so glad that you got to visit significant areas here in relation to your great-grandmother. We hope to see you again!
All the best,
Niamh and Frank
