This was the best accommodations e hang experienced renting a house for our family of 3 siblings and each of our families. We had 12 people and our dog. Everyone enjoyed the stay. The house was well stocked and had instructions and labels for most things. The kids ranged in ages from 2 - 14 and no one was ever bored. The pool was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed watching the boats go past the house in the river. The host was great with communication and responded promptly to any messages. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room to spread out. We will likely be back!

Great River House Stay!

This property did not disappoint! Very clean and well stocked. Views of the river are nice and kids enjoyed watching the boat traffic throughout the day and the place is very calm and peaceful throughout the day, especially in the mornings and evenings. We only wished it had a dock to fish from or maybe just some rod holders attached to the bulkhead to allow for a bit more convenient fishing in the river but that’s not worthy of a deduction on the review! Just know that if you plan to do any fishing you’ll need to bring your own rod holders if doing any fishing that requires the bait to sit for any length of time. Overall, a great place to stay and we would definitely return with no questions asked.

Thank you so much for the kind words and detailed review! We're thrilled to hear the property met your expectations and that your family enjoyed the peaceful setting, especially those relaxing mornings and evenings by the river. Watching the boat traffic is definitely one of our favorite pastimes too! We really appreciate your feedback about the fishing setup — that's a great suggestion and something we'll consider improving for future guests. In the meantime, your tip about bringing rod holders will be helpful for others who love to fish. This is something that we can easily add. We’d love to welcome you back anytime — no questions asked! Thanks again for choosing to stay with us.

The location was nice and the house was well equipped for our family reunion. We enjoyed our stay. There was a couple issues but they were handled promptly and professionally. The air mattresses were dirty but they replaced them promptly. I would’ve appreciated knowing the air mattresses where part of the final count on sleeping 15.

About the host

Hosted by Raymond

Growing up in the Houston area, I have always had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, and particularly for the joys of swimming. There's just something about the warm sun beating down on your skin, the water lapping against your body, and the sound of laughter and splashing all around that creates a sense of pure bliss. And for me, that feeling is only heightened when I can also witness others experiencing it.

Now, as a parent myself, I have the pleasure of creating a backyard paradise for my own children. And I must admit, there is nothing more heartwarming than watching the smile on their faces as they splash around and create their own memories. But it's not just my immediate family that I enjoy hosting in our backyard paradise, it's also our extended family, friends, and neighbors. Being able to share this experience with others and see the joy it brings them is truly rewarding.

But perhaps the most fulfilling aspect of being a host in this backyard paradise is being able to provide these experiences for those who may not have the means or opportunity to do so themselves. Whether it's a family in need or a group of underprivileged children, nothing brings me more satisfaction than giving them a day filled with laughter, fun, and the joy of swimming.

As an advocate for the benefits of swimming and outdoor activities, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact it can have on physical health, mental well-being, and overall happiness. And as a host, I have the privilege of creating and sharing these experiences with others. So if you ever find yourself in the Houston area, come take a dip in our backyard pool and experience the pure bliss that comes with swimming and watching recreational water activities. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Why they chose this property

As I walk through the streets of my neighborhood, I am constantly in awe of its beauty and charm. The picturesque houses, the lush green lawns, and the serene atmosphere make it a truly idyllic place to call home. But what truly sets this neighborhood apart from others is its sense of community - something that is becoming increasingly rare in today's fast-paced world.

Another thing that sets this neighborhood apart is the love for boating and fishing that runs deep in the community. Almost every house has a boat parked in the driveway, and on weekends, the river comes alive with the sound of boat engines and the laughter of neighbors enjoying each other's company. It's a sight to behold - the camaraderie and sense of belonging that comes with being on the water together.

But it's not just about having a boat - it's about the shared passion for fishing that brings us all together. It's common to see neighbors exchanging fish stories and tips, or even collaborating on a fishing trip. And with most houses having their own piers and boathouses, it's easy to see why fishing is such a prominent activity here.

As I join my neighbors on the San Bernard River every weekend, I am reminded of the importance of a strong and supportive community. These simple yet profound connections with our neighbors not only enhance our quality of life, but also create a sense of belonging and purpose. In a world where we are increasingly connected digitally, it's heartwarming to see a community that is so tightly knit in real life.

So, if you're looking for a place to call home where the wow factor is not just in the physical surroundings, but in the relationships you form with your neighbors, look no further than this close-knit neighborhood on the San Bernard River. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

What makes this property unique

Escape to your dream vacation home, where the main level boasts stunning San Bernard River views and a spacious, open-concept layout perfect for family and friends. Relax on the spacious river front patio and soak in the beauty of the San Bernard River! Or take a dip in the waterfront pool while letting all your worries melt away. Spend your days casting a line in the crystal clear waters, indulging in delicious meals, and creating unforgettable memories. This is the perfect retreat for those seeking a truly upscale vacation experience.
