About Frank Albinder
I'm a classical musician who's lived in Washington DC for more than 13 years. It's a great city in so many ways, I'm glad I can share my basement apartment with visitors from around the world. I live in the main house above the apartment, so I'm easily available to assist guests with their visits in the national's capital.
Frank Albinder purchased this Apartment in 2002
Why Frank Albinder chose Dupont Circle
I love my neighborhood with its historical townhouses and apartment buildings, restaurants, shops and nearby public transportation. Though in the heart of Washington, the apartment is in a residential neighborhood populated with a wide variety of residents, including young Congressional and White House staffers, young families, couples and singles from all over the world. (Few people in DC are actually from DC!) One of the coolest things about where I live is the giant Masonic House of the Temple, located right across the street from the apartment. The building was designed by John Russell Pope, architect of the Jefferson Memorial and the National Archives, and it's one of the most impressive buildings in Washington. It serves as the Southern Headquarters for the 33rd degree of Scottish Rite Masonry, and a tour of the building is fascinating and entertaining. If you're a Dan Brown fan, the building plays a pivotal part in his novel, 'The Lost Symbol.'

Great apartment, great location
My husband, daughter and I stayed in this apartment for 4 nights during a family vacation to DC. It was all we needed. Clean, comfortable, fantastic location, easy walking to Metro, great restaurants in the neighborhood, and walkable to the White House and monuments. This neighborhood is quiet, yet close to everything you need in DC. Frank was terrific - offered kind words and left a light on when our incoming flight was delayed and we arrived in the middle of the night, and took care of our one issue quickly (we needed a new air mattress since the one in the closet had a leak; he bought a new one and delivered it the next day). We would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!
This place fit all our needs
We came to visit DC for week with our two boys. The basement apartment was a perfect size for our family and location was great, few blocks from the Metro. Loved the neighborhood but the area on the way to the metro was inappropriate for young children especially on weekend nights. We found if you take the route through the nice neighborhood instead you can avoid the bar scene.
Frank was great to work with and we would recommend the apartment.
Glad you had a good visit to Washington, DC! For other future travelers, with a family of 4, it's almost always cheaper and is definitely more convenient to take Lyft/Uber to get to most of the major tourist spots in DC. And there are 4 bus lines within a block of the apartment that are also easier to take than the Metro (subway).
Excellent Location , Wonderful Host
Cute, clean , everything you need for a stay in DC. Great neighborhood , close to public transportation, shops, restaurants and bars . Frank is super friendly , answers all questions , and ensures that guests have their privacy and space. Highly recommend !
Centrally located; apartment included everything that one would need. Great neighborhood to explore. Frank was great with communication.
Delightful stay in DC
We found the apartment roomy for the two of us, and everything worked well (the heating system was quiet and effective; the Internet was super fast; and all appliances were top-notch). The neighborhood was lovely and there was little street noise (none in the back of the apartment where the bedroom is). With a large Whole Foods and a Metro stop within a few blocks and Ronald Reagan airport a 20-minute drive away, the location was perfect. We look forward to staying here again sometime!
Comfortable, Clean, accommodations, Frank left detailed easy to follow instructions. Location was perfect and near everything. Safe . Fold out mattress could use upgrade.
But son slept comfortably on it . Definitely would recommend and visit again. 🖒🖒
