About Frank Albinder

I'm a classical musician who's lived in Washington DC for more than 13 years. It's a great city in so many ways, I'm glad I can share my basement apartment with visitors from around the world. I live in the main house above the apartment, so I'm easily available to assist guests with their visits in the national's capital.

Frank Albinder purchased this apartment in 2002

Why Frank Albinder chose District of Columbia (Washington DC)

I love my neighborhood with its historical townhouses and apartment buildings, restaurants, shops and nearby public transportation. Though in the heart of Washington, the apartment is in a residential neighborhood populated with a wide variety of residents, including young Congressional and White House staffers, young families, couples and singles from all over the world. (Few people in DC are actually from DC!) One of the coolest things about where I live is the giant Masonic House of the Temple, located right across the street from the apartment. The building was designed by John Russell Pope, architect of the Jefferson Memorial and the National Archives, and it's one of the most impressive buildings in Washington. It serves as the Southern Headquarters for the 33rd degree of Scottish Rite Masonry, and a tour of the building is fascinating and entertaining. If you're a Dan Brown fan, the building plays a pivotal part in his novel, 'The Lost Symbol.'

Great located lovely garden flat

  • 5 of 5

Stayed a week in this cute apartment conveniently positioned between Dupont Circle and U Street cafes, shops, bars and metro stations.

Apartment is well equipped and the bed very comfortable. Air conditioning the best I've ever encountered in a rental property.

Frank was really helpful and fast at replying to any questions we had.

Thank you Frank - hope all went well in Chicago

Great place in safe neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in D.C. with 2 adults, 2 children. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Frank provided us with a parking pass and we were able to leave our car and walk/uber everywhere. The apartment was stocked with everything we needed as well as extras to make us feel at home, such as refillable SmarTrip cards for the metro, umbrellas hanging in the entry, maps & guidebooks. Frank was a gracious host & we enjoyed meeting him. He responded quickly to our emails and promptly refunded our security deposit. He even mailed us a piece of clothing that we accidently left behind. Thank you for a lovely stay

Wonderful place -- we loved it!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about our stay in Frank's apartment. We were only in D.C. a week, but we visited a lot of different sites in and around the area -- including Mount Vernon, which is not in the Downtown D.C. area -- and the location of the apartment was absolutely wonderful for everything we did. Not only is the Metro station very close, but the neighborhood itself is full of lots of energy with people out and about shopping, dining, walking their pets or jogging/walking. The apartment has everything one would need, which includes the great feature of a washer and dryer. Despite being in the middle of a very urban neighborhood, we were never aware of any outside noise -- it's very private and quiet. We will definitely visit D.C. again -- probably in the fall next time -- and without a doubt will try to stay in Frank's place.
