We thought the home was super cute and cozy. We loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the view. It was easy distance from Monument Valley and overall worked out really well.
Just slightly smaller than I was expecting, but it was perfect for my wife and I. We enjoyed visiting all the surrounding national parks and monuments. And we especially enjoyed returning to a private and relaxing place, and making a nice home cooked meal to finish off the day.
Property was comfortable, clean and in a great location. Quiet and good for our dog. Owner was attentive. We were here for the Bluff hot air balloon festival. It was the perfect location for our stay
Mixed pros/cons:Pros: Great communication from host, very nice to have washing machine/laundry detergent, propane grill and coffee provided. Very quiet at night and check in was easy. Very nice patio view.Cons: Unpleasant smell - we don't know if from the A/C window unit, previous dog guests, or what but the property had an unpleasant smell. It was grubby clean. While the the sinks, toilet, bed sheets, and carpets were clean things beyond the basics were not clean. Some examples are finding dirty dishes/silverware mixed in (at check out guests are to clean the dishes and put them away and not everyone washes well), grubby tv remote, curdled creamer (I tried 10 different little creamers and all were chunky), and whatever was causing the smell. Tips: Bluff Fort (3 minute drive) shares the amazing story of the Hole in the Rock Expedition. Those people were tough! Free admission. The nearest grocery store is Blanding (about 25 miles) so be sure to stock up before you arrive.

Hi Kathy,
I am so sorry that you had a bad experience. As far as the "smell" goes, we have no idea of what you might have encountered. Our 2 cleaning girls do not detect any odors. I apologize for the creamers being curdled. They are not near their expiration dates. I am going to have to assume the desert heat got the best of them. Days when we have no guests, I guess it can get pretty warm in the house. I have asked our cleaning girls to remove them and I will restock with new ones. Thanks for letting me know and I will investigate what you might have smelled. We just cannot figure that one out. My most sincere apologies.....
Regrading the silverware and remote control. We will watch those items more closely.
