In the heart of Santa Ynez Wine Country, amid rolling green hills and pastures, lies this welcoming home overlooking the valley floor of Ballard Canyon in the Santa Ynez Valley. Drive to the ranch along winding backroads, past miles of rich farmland, working ranches and rolling vineyards....all this while still close to restaurants, shopping and activities.
The home is perched proudly on a knoll that overlooks the vast surrounding 20 acres. This is a charming home with an upscale relaxed feel. A sophisticated neutral palate of greys, linens, and crisp white creates a tranquil backdrop to complement the natural green surroundings of the countryside. Soon to be planted with grapevines, the property promises to be an oasis of viticulture and serenity.
The home features 3 Bedrooms. Upstairs, a "Family Suite" design is set up with the Master Bedroom, Bathroom and Guest Bedroom all sharing the second floor. The Master Bedroom faces the sweeping valley views with French doors leading to a balcony. The Bedroom faces the backyard with the majestic oaks just outside the window, creating the feeling of being in a tree house, when tucked away in this quiet space.
Two downstairs Bedrooms complete the sleeping accommodations. One will be perfect as a second Master Suite with attached Bathroom. The other Bedroom offers a queen-size bed - both rooms open to the backyard where a fire pit sits amid the lawn and surrounding oaks.
The Living Room and Kitchen blend together perfectly for shared conversation and to stay connected to mealtime activity. A two-sided fireplace opens both to the Living Room and front porch where a cozy seating area is the perfect after hours place to enjoy a mellow glass of wine or deep rich espresso. An enclosed Dining Porch brings the outside in, with 3 walls of windows and doors. There are more dining options with the handcrafted farm table on the porch with stunning valley views.
Though one may never wish to leave the properties serene "get away from it all" appeal, the Santa Ynez Valley is full of wonderful activities and things to do. The obvious choice in Wine Country of course is to visit local tasting rooms and wineries, of which there are over 150 in this area of the Central Coast. Solvang is a hub for Danish delights, local festivals, and plenty of shopping.
The neighboring towns of Los Olivos and Santa Ynez also offer their own local flavor, and are well worth visiting. Exploring on foot, bike or in "touring jeeps" is fun too! There are many hiking and biking trails. An easy hike to see the wildflowers in the spring on Figueroa Mountain is a must, or pick apples in the fall! Feel adventurous? Head to the Santa Ynez Airport for Glider Rides - there is nothing like seeing the valley from the air to take ones' breath away.
