Doc's Lake House Lakefront

Get ready to relax at Berlin Lake! This space is a private house in a small neighborhood. You will have the entire space and included dock to yourself, please make yourself comfy and enjoy the peacefulness of Berlin Lake!
The space
Lakeside and lakefront house with a giant waterfront deck for entertaining and relaxing.

New for 2024, new sofa beds with queen pull out sleepers in the living room and a private dock walkway over the rocks. New in 2023, updated kitchen flooring, and a new water treatment system to help with the well water!
Guest access
All areas of the house are accessible except for the detached garage, sheds, and an attic access in the upstairs bathroom.
Other things to note
Bring a life jacket and some sunscreen, we can also provide you with a pontoon ride and tour of Berlin Lake, weather permitting!

Please note, there is a dock available for use at the property. You may use it for fishing, swimming, or boating. Please limit guests on the dock to 6 only.

Please be advised we have well water at this house and you may want to purchase extra drinking water for your stay. A few bottles will be provided at check in. The water is treated and filtered but occasionally has a sulfur smell to it.

We provide a starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels.

Also, there is a small supply of condiments in the refrigerator so you may not have to purchase your own during your stay.

We spray for insects yearly inside and outside the house.

Deck chair cushions are available in the deck box just off to the side of the deck fence by the well and grill.

Amazing week!

The view is stunning. We watched the sunrise multiple times on their deck overlooking the lake and I never wanted to leave. Even sitting inside I couldn’t stop looking out at the view. We hope to come back every year. We were fortunate to have great weather and just relaxed and floated around in the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely with kind and pleasant neighbors. We grilled out on their large grill and got takeout from nearby restaurants for our supper and lunches we got groceries and sandwiches from the Farm Market which I highly recommend. Their kitchen was fully stocked with everything so we were able to cook just fine. It did get warm a couple of days but the AC unit worked great and kept us cool. We did have two personal issues with needing to receive a package in the mail and our friends’ flight getting cancelled and Heather responded immediately. She was extremely helpful and kind and even went above and beyond to extend our stay an extra night. We loved our hosts and highly recommend staying here.

We had no hot water duration of our stay

We had no hot water - host contacted maintenance to fix He was in & out 3 times & the hot water still didn’t work After the 3rd attempt - there was a foul sulfur odor -it was a intrusion on our privacy - then we were told bug sprayers would be there spraying in & out -we were give a 5 minute notice -there was no disclosure of this - all these people intruding on us when we were on vacation contact host - she said she would refund half our money if we left by that afternoon - this was an ultimatum ? She should refund all our money - that was not a vacation - it was a disappointing experience - we had no vacation - it just kept getting worse - Intrusions into privacy No hot water for the whole time we were there What a Vacation -Swimming in a lake no hot water for a shower She should have called a licensed plumber instead of this other person she hired that could not fix the problem- after his 3rd invasion of our privacy - we had absolutely no water pressure either I absolutely would not recommend this house to anyone !!!

Unfortunately Anne, this was not the same experience as other guests and I have a slew of other reviews that are more positive than yours. You could not get the key out of the door, which was promptly fixed by myself, and I tried not to invade your privacy during that experience, but you came out to tell me of how beautiful the place was and how it was nicer than the pictures. When you had an issue with the gas grill, my husband was on his way with a replacement tank when you said "cancel that", caused it was fixed? The other "invasion of privacy" you reference was due to you not having hot water and we were attempting to fix this in good faith, since you threatened to leave if it were not corrected. Unfortunately it required more parts and supplies than our maintenance man had available to him. You stayed two nights before you left and did not follow the check out instructions, leaving the master bedroom sliding glass door open with the AC on at 72 during a heatwave. You left all of your trash in the cans and did not strip any linen or put all your dirty towels in the laundry room, as per check out instructions. I feel giving you half of your stay back was more than fair. I have a feeling that even if the hot water were not an issue, you would have found other issues with your stay that would have required "compensation". Hosts beware of this guest!
