Comfortable, relaxing,home away from home, apiece of heaven

We have been coming to this rental Surf City for 10 years.That in itself is a raving review.The rental is centrally located in Surf City and within walking distance of food and meat market. There are numerous eateries within walking distance and you can eat in or take out. Shopping is also very convenient because there are a variety of different stores to pick from my favorite is the book store. The rental is well kept,clean and comfortable.The bedrooms are big with a TV in each room and ample closet space.The children's bedroom has ocean animal drawings on the walls which is pretty cool. When my niece came she was so excited and wanted to sleep in the bunk bed with the crab on the wall. She thought that was pretty neat. The living room is spacious and comfortable and we have done many of puzzles on coffee table. Eating area has large table and 7 chairs very comfortable. The kitchen has a dishwasher and is equipped with almost everything you would need. I say almost because there will always be someone looking for something you don't have. There is a laundry room with washer, dryer and ironing board and iron for those of us who still iron.Two beautiful bathrooms.One that was just remodel and is very nice.There is a huge deck with a table with umbrella and comfortable patio chairs. We love to sit out on deck there is sun in the morning and afternoon. we have our breakfast and lunch and even sometimes dinner on that deck. and at nite it is beautiful to sit there and look up at stars. This location is in walking distance of almost everything only three blocks from bay and block from beach. The nice thing is you don't have to cross busy street to get to beach. If you have a problem all you have to do is call the owner and she takes care of it. She makes you feel welcome by providing a goody bucket with a gift card for a dozen bagels and bagel shop is just downstairs.There is a wagon for you to use to either take your children or bring your beach accessories to beach. There is a nice shower outside if you like to shower your children or yourself. We do enjoy that. After dinner it is nice to go across to big dipper for ice cream and walk to bay to see a beautiful sunset.There is no need to use your car except for trip to see Old Barney or trip to Fantasy Island. All you have to do is let you feet do the walking.It is truly a beautiful place. We have enjoyed our stays and God willing we will return next year.It is like home and a little bit of heaven!!!!!!

Better than expected - and I was expecting it to be great!

I ditto much of what the last reviewer wrote, but I will say that I did not find any of the rooms small (I have stayed in much smaller) - the kids room has a bunk bed, two twins, and a trundle under one - even with the trundle pulled out, we still had room to put up a pack and play for our toddler! All the rooms were bigger than they looked in the photos (and I'm used to the opposite being true in most rentals). From the moment we walked in we were thrilled by the size of the unit, especially for the price. We thought this was great! There was even a nice gift for us in the kitchen that was so thoughtful. We also loved the location - a block from the beach, a block to Fellas for the best pizza you can get anywhere (I may be biased since I've been eating at Fellas since I was a child, but it is great!), a few short blocks to the produce stand and other shops too, across the street from the Big Dipper for ice cream after dinner, and of course right upstairs from great bagels and muffins for breakfast. We only took our car out twice - once to Old Barney, and once to Fantasy Island/Bay Village. The rest of the time we could walk anywhere we wanted to go. Again, I love Surf City because I have vacationed here since I was a child and I was so excited to bring my family to share some of my fond memories of LBI and create new memories. This apartment was an excellent place to do this.

Loved staying here - clean, well kept, and a great location

Been going to LBI on and off since little, and for past 5 years in a row my wife and I have stayed 2 weeks every summer in Surf City (in my opinion, the best place to stay on LBI).

We've bounced around with our rentals.... Everything from huge 4 bedroom/new construction 'McMansion' (for $4000+ per week) to tiny 'barely 2 bedroom/in an old single level cottage' spaces that were 1/4 the cost..... So we experiened a large variety of rental spaces.

This rental was one of our favorites, and for the price it really can't be beat. Though some people may be hesitant to rent a 2nd floor condo 'over a business', there was really no issues while we stayed. In fact, since business closes at 3pm, from that time on you essentially have half a duplex where there is no one staying in the lower unit - no issues of parties, noise, complaints, etc from 'the other renters'.

In a nutshell here's my view:

On the outside:

- only one block from beach and on the ocean side of main street, so no worries about having little ones get to the beach safely.

- very spacious deck, good patio furniture, faces east so lots of morning/mid-day sun.

- outdoor shower clean and well built

- owner even gave us wagon to pull our stuff down to the beach

- parking is off-street and safe

- tons of great food places and shops in short walking distance

- if you want to rent bikes, Surf Buggy rental is only one block away

- you are basically at the midpoint of the island so going either south to Beach Haven (for amusement park, water slides, shopping) or north to Barnegat (lighthouse, antique stores, state park) are both only about 15 minutes drive.

- back over the causeway to Costco, Target, Shop Rite, etc. is very close,less than 5 minutes.

- beaches have recently been replenished (though that's a constant battle vs. mother nature...)

On the inside:

- surprisingly spacious

- kitchen is clean, well equipped, dishwasher is a plus

- 2 baths both with showers and both tiled (though one is a bit dated, but very clean)

- bedrooms: king size really IS king size, nice furniture, TV in every bedroom; other 2 bedrooms are on small side but both clean and all hardwood floor throughout

- wireless internet

- newer living room furniture, both couch and loveseat have built-in recliners - very comfortable room

- no central AC but 5 window units keep the place more than cool and also mask what little road noise there is - you don't feel at all like you are on main street.

- washer and dryer BIG PLUS
