Unfortunately, during your visit, our area experienced severe storms and high winds that caused dust and debris to blow into the tub after it was prepared for your arrival. The filter was not clogged, but we completely understand how the unexpected weather may have impacted your experience. We have since corrected these issues, including replenishing kitchen essentials, bringing out additional blankets from the closets for these colder months, and ensuring proper towel care before folding and stowing. We take great pride in this feature and were under the impression that the issue was resolved after our initial troubleshooting. Had we known there was more we could have done in the moment, we would have gladly come in person to assist—we are always willing to go above and beyond for guest satisfaction. After your stay, we had a technician inspect the setup based on your review, and everything was functioning properly—indicating that the issue may have been due to remote selection or input settings, as this space is often used for gaming and other entertainment. We understand that having multiple remotes in a more advanced media room can be confusing, and we appreciate your suggestion. Based on your feedback, we’ve taken steps to simplify the setup for a more seamless experience for future guests. We enjoy hosting pets and their families and understand that travel with pets can be unpredictable. There are no hard feelings — we simply wish your review had reflected the overall quality and experience our cabin offers. We believed you would be more amicable in this situation based on our conversation. As discussed, your pet was not disclosed at the time of booking, so the required pet fee wasn’t paid. To avoid inconvenience, we deducted the standard fee from your damage deposit. After departure, our cleaners reported pet waste both in the master bathroom and movie theater, as well as scratches on the bedroom door. Our house rules, listed on Vrbo, state that pets must be crated when unattended and that owners are responsible for cleaning up after them. Locking a pet in a small room often leads to unexpected behaviors and damages even from good pets. We communicated about this after your departure. Regarding your comment on floor cleanliness, our wooded location sees heavy spring pollen. While our cleaning team thoroughly prepares the home for each guest and floor mats are provided, pollen can easily be tracked inside, particularly with pet traffic. We also offer mid-stay cleanings to help maintain comfort for guests staying longer or needing additional support. As you saw when the Roku TV remote wasn't working, we are more than happy to support our guests when called upon even when the issue is minor. While the total cost of cleanup, sanitization, and minor repairs exceeded the remaining balance of your deposit, we did not request any further reimbursement. Only $29 remained from your damage deposit to apply toward those repairs. Our goal is always to resolve such matters with fairness and understanding. You had asked for fairness in handling the damage and we obliged without requesting the remaining balance. We remain committed to clear communication, quality service, and a positive experience for every guest. We truly hope you will reconsider your review and that we can offer you a stay again in the future.

We are so glad Wide Glide Lodge could be the place where you brought all three of your boys and their families together under one roof. We know how precious that time is, especially with two of them serving in the military, and it means the world to us that our home could be part of such a treasured gathering. It warms our hearts to hear that the king-sized bedrooms gave everyone their own space and privacy, and that the reclining couches meant nobody had to sit on the floor to enjoy movie night together — that's exactly the kind of comfort we always hope our guests experience! We're so happy the kitchen had everything you needed, the laundry room with two dryers came in handy, and that the hot tub was a perfect way to wind down after your long, adventure-filled days. It sounds like you packed so much into your stay — fishing, kayaking, swimming, the train ride through the forest, souvenir shopping, shooting pool, s'mores by the campfire, and even some precious wildlife moments with the baby deer and momma!
