Best Decision We Made!

  • 5 of 5

Of all the decisions we made during the planning process for our daughter's Chapel Hill wedding, renting this home was by far the best! Our family traveled to Chapel Hill from across the state and we were all able to be together during this special time, with plenty of room to spread out. It was so nice to be able to be in a home (and not a hotel!)...we could fix ourselves snacks and meals when we wanted, the children had space to be active, there are several sitting areas so that we weren't all on top of each other, and with all the bathrooms we could all get ready at the same time :-)

We held the bridesmaids' brunch on the back terrace and the rehearsal dinner (for 60) in the great room. Both events were awesome. The owner, his sister and Julie were incredible to work with.

Our son, a geology major who uses stone and rocks in his business, spent the first day walking around in awe taking pictures of the stone used in the home and grounds. This home is a treasure and we are so thankful we found it and could make it our home for a few days. It made a very special weekend even more special.

Above and Beyond

  • 5 of 5

I had the almost impossible job of finding housing accommodations in Chapel Hill for Graduation/LaCross weekend. I came across the listing for the Lodge and the dates were available. The owner responded promptly to my inquiry and both he and his sister were so accommodating!

My boss returned to the office on Monday and let me know that the Lodge was above and beyond his expectations. He said it was the best rental facility we have used and will definitely use it, if the need arises in the future.

Can't say enough about the owners...they stayed in communication throughout the entire stay. They even took the grocery list and make sure the fridge was stocked for their arrival.

Thank you so much!!!!

Perfect setting for wedding weekend

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the lodge for our wedding weekend and hosted our rehearsal dinner there. The property is an architectural wonder, the setting is gorgeous, and the property is so big and varied that it just absorbs people. Our guests were able to spread out wherever they felt comfortable - the pool, the several patios, the great room, and the entertainment cave. It was also a perfect place for the wedding party to stay and have fun before and after-wedding bonding all weekend. Many of our guests commented on how special and perfect the setting was, and how at-home they all felt. I had eventually had to send people away because no one wanted to leave!

Anne was also incredibly responsive, helpful, and gracious, offering great advice and recommendations, and being extremely generous in allowing us to stay extra time.

I highly recommend this property for parties, reunions, any occasion where you can get enough people together to enjoy it!

Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Party Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

When planning our wedding in Chapel Hill, I wanted to find a house in the area that could house 12+ people and came across the Lodge. After speaking with Tom and visiting the property, deciding where to stay was an easy decision.

The house is spectacular. It is spacious enough for a large group to spend time together in the common areas, but each bedroom has its own bath and gives plenty of privacy from the rest of the place.

We held our rehearsal dinner there, and Anne was extremely helpful when it came to scheduling follow up visits with the caterer to plan how to furnish the meal and measure the space. Our guests, many of them UNC alums, were blown away by the location, and shocked that they had not known of the Lodge's existence prior to that night.

I would recommend staying here to anybody spending time in Chapel Hill. My group had an amazing visit, and I cannot imagine anybody having a bad experience at such a beautiful property.

Wedding party from CT

  • 5 of 5

The Lodge is a beautiful space to entertain or just chill out. You have to see the stone and wood; it is out of this world. The views and landscaping are spectacular, and the salt-water pool and waterfall are so relaxing.

Not only is the Lodge spacious and packed with amenities, Tom keeps the place tip-top. And Anne is a pleasure to work with, she accommodated all of our special requests.

One tip: it's easy for guests to get lost as they drive up to the Lodge, especially at night. We tied balloons and posted signs at all the turns.

Rehearsal Dinner and Sunday Brunch to Remember

  • 5 of 5

In brief, the Chapel Hilltop Lodge is a gorgeous venue with an exceptional, courteous and engaging staff who will ensure your event is a memorable one.

My wife and I were married in Durham, NC on a Saturday in November 2013. We held our Friday night rehearsal dinner and a Sunday brunch at the Lodge. Along with our wedding party we stayed at the Lodge for the weekend.

The 6 bedrooms comfortably accommodated our 16-person wedding party and the 7.5 bathrooms, provided ample privacy and space to get ready on our wedding day. Set atop one of the highest locations in the Chapel Hill, we woke up to gorgeous sunrises and views each day. Our guests enjoyed exercising on the vast property, which includes a farm and many walking trails. In the evenings our friends and family gathered around the pool table and the entertainment center in the cave, which is set below the main floor.

There was great planning in the design of the lodge, as demonstrated in the placement of the cave, which became an entertainment hub for our guests. The cave provides plenty of late evening entertainment options for guests, but is far enough away from the bedrooms that noise did not disrupt anyone's sleep. There is also incredible technology integrated throughout the home; the central home control system allowed us to adjust lighting, play music from an iPod, laptop, or internet radio, and shut down the lighting of the whole house for the evening from one location in the great room.

For both the rehearsal dinner and the brunch we were easily able to accommodate our 60 guests in the great room, which provided incredible views through the 20-foot tall windows that overlook the Chapel Hill landscape. The central home control system allowed us to get the lighting and music just right for the rehearsal dinner and entertaining afterwards. The beauty of the Chapel Hilltop Lodge astounded our guests as was evident by their wide eyes on arrival and compliments throughout the event.

It is clear that both Tom and Anne have an enthusiasm for hospitality and an unparalleled commitment to ensuring that their guests’ events are everything they could have hoped for.

Many of our guests have approached my wife and myself on multiple occasions since the wedding to tell us that it was one of the most beautiful and fun weddings they had ever attended. I encourage you to choose the Chapel Hilltop Lodge to ensure an event that you and your guests will cherish.
