Luxury Rice Field Retreat in Ubud, Bali, w/ spa, gym, and 25-m pool

Welcome to Villa Florida - our tranquil oasis, nestled amidst picturesque rice fields and offering breathtaking sunset views!

Completed in mid-2024, our newly built retreat (and personal family home) is the perfect getaway for families, boasting 5 spacious bedrooms that comfortably sleep 10 guests, including a custom kids' bunk room.

Each bedroom features an indoor and outdoor bathroom for added luxury and privacy, as well as a connected TV. This is our family's home and all soaps are natural and made in Bali. All bedrooms are fitted with blackout curtains for a well-rested vacation.

Our modern, western-style kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a built-in espresso machine, oven, induction plate, fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. Reverse osmosis makes the water safe to drink from the smaller faucet fitted on the kitchen sink. And of course, there is ice out of the fridge - a rarity in Bali. Please be sure to read our house manual for instructions on how to operate the appliances.

Relax and unwind in our large indoor sunken living room, ideal for lounging or playing board games. Treat yourself to at-home massages in our private spa, or practice yoga and light workouts in our private gym.

Designed to provide the Balinese indoor / outdoor living experience, you can also choose to close doors in the evenings to keep mosquitoes and other wildlife away. All rooms are air-conditioned, included the main living area for ultimate comfort, which is not easily found in Bali.

Outside, you'll find a 25-meter lap pool, spanning over 150 square meters, with a see-through view from the sunken sitting area. Take a dip in the large jacuzzi tub (no heating), or lounge in one of our two outdoor seating areas. Our favorite one plunges over the rice fields and has the most beautiful sunset views!

Enjoy plenty of outdoor lounging space with umbrellas, a large outdoor table with a lazy susan, and 5-days-a-week cleanings to ensure your stay is stress-free.

Conveniently located just 10 minutes from Ubud's attractions and city center, our home offers the perfect blend of tranquility and accessibility. Right in Ubud, yet as far as it gets from the stress, hustle, and bustle of the city.

Please note that due to the nature of the build, we do not recommend stays with children under the age of 8, as our pool is not secured and there are no barriers to the rice fields below. Note that the street leading up to the house is not yet paved. While scooter access is easiest, we use our car daily and it comes down to the house no problem.

Notes:
- Strictly no party and no smoking. This is our, and our three children's, private home. We take great care of it and expect our guests to help us keep it in beautiful shape.
- Access to the villa is easiest with a scooter, though bringing a car also works (we use our car daily). We are in the process of getting the road paved, but things take longer in Bali and we do not have an ETA. Current status of the road is unpaved and bumpy - Bali style!
- Our home was built in the middle of rice fields, which means that ants (they don't bite), geckos, and other critters are a part of rice-field living in a tropical climate. Our housekeeper is well trained to treat ants - feel free to point them out if you see some he's missed. Colonies can develop quickly.
- Our home was designed by European architects and built up to European anti-seismic standards. The build, however, is Balinese, which cannot be compared to European / American standards. This is not unique to our home, but good to keep Balinese / Indonesian standards in mind when staying anywhere in Bali.
