Very steep, quick turn driveway down to cabin. Could see where it would be difficult depending on vehicle type - my tires spun due to rain, rocks and grade of driveway. Sink faucets extremely hot, yet shower was lukewarm at best. Cold snap during stay, getting down to 25 degrees overnight, and heater did not heat cabin very well. Would recommend bringing extra bedding! Otherwise, beautiful cabin and not too far from RRG scenic byways and restaurants/stores.
Pros: new, and clean on the inside.Cons: It's not secluded (several other houses you can see next door), it's not quite (dogs barking and rooster crows frequently all day long), there is practically no yard to enjoy. The yard has trash all around, with dog poop. There is a small portable firepit, yet was full of burnt wood and more trash in it. No tv in the living room. The driveway is very steep. Not sure a car could get up and out of the driveway. We drive a truck. We left a day early.
Happy with our rental. Would stay here again. It was just two of us and we had plenty of room.

It was close to everything. We definitely needed a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to it and park. The pet cleanliness policy is very strict… since we paid a pet fee I would have felt more relaxed if the dogs were allowed to exist in the cabin like the humans. Overall it was a nice location.
We had a great stay at the cabin. Loved the secluded neighborhood. We took our dogs for walks around the area each day. The porch was great. The neighbors dog and rooster were a bit loud but tolerable. Our pups didnt seem to mind the noise much but I could see it making some dogs feel the need to bark. Definitely make sure you bring some bug spray. We got a couple ticks on us sitting outside by the fire pit area. The bed was small but VERY comfortable. Super soft mattress. The AC unit was great and kept the place cool. The location was pefect, close to hikes and lots of restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay again.
Beautiful and brand and new
The only Bed is a double and cabin not comfortable for 3 ppl , better suited for 2, our son loved the loft as his space and the foosball table but no where to sleep up there. Cabin was immaculate. My recommendation would be to add a sleeper sofa in the loft. Shower needs a caddy or shelves for toiletries. We loved it and would definitely recommend this cabin.

If you like the sound of barking dogs…
We rented Black Bear #1 for 5 nights as part of a couple’s climbing and hiking getaway. This cabin is new and adorable. It is nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed and linens (probably the nicest we’ve ever experienced in a rental cabin). Check in (even on Thanksgiving day) was smooth, with friendly helpful staff. Directions to the office and cabin were accurate, and both were easily accessible by car. WiFi worked great. Nice new appliances, and we appreciated the washer/dryer for our somewhat extended stay. We had an issue with hot water in the shower, and they sent someone promptly to check it out. Agree with another review that a shower caddy would be a helpful addition, as would a cutting board.
The one major complaint we have isn’t about the cabin itself… Contrary to the description, it is NOT secluded. There is a house right next door, which unfortunately includes numerous dogs that bark, howl, and whine all hours of the day and night. That pretty well ruined any sense of seclusion, as well as any hope of sleeping past 4am. We visit the Red River Gorge a couple of times per year and really loved this place and would otherwise return, but the neighbor’s dogs will keep us from coming back.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. The cabin was so nice, such a peaceful area. Everything was as described. The cabin was exceptionally clean. The kitchen was fully equipped to grill or cook inside. The air worked properly as well. Excellent experience and we hope to make this an annual little getaway.
Location was clean and had a well stocked kitchen. Directions to the cabin were clear and easy to follow. Driveway is steep-ish but nothing a Corolla can’t navigate. Internet was good and the climate control worked well too.
