Traditional Tuscany country side villa located on top of a sunny and very panoramic hill near the beautiful medieval borough of Sillico, surrounded by grazing sheep and very ancient chestnut forests. The wonderful panorama, look the Garfagnana Valley, the Appennino National Park mountains and the beautiful Apuan Alps making this place a very enchanted one.
The villa has two independent apartments: Il Lonfo and L’Ormasso, completely restructured using a traditional Tuscan materials.
From the 6x12 meters panoramic swimming pool the guests can enjoy the peace and the surrounding mountains with the necessary privacy and comforts for a special and relaxing holiday.
This is a very relaxing location where come back after an interesting visit of the historical cities of Lucca, Pisa and Florence, a very comfortable starting point to discover the beautiful corners of the Garfagnana valley by walking, horse riding, bike riding or simply by car.
Very expert guides offer to the guests the possibility to enjoy the Garfagnana wild nature with trekking, mountain bike, speleology and canyoning excursions.

Me and my wife Monica are living in this property from 2005, after 18 months of restoration work. Monica dedicate most of the time taking care of our daughter Viola Pilar and at the house, I’m taking care of the park and the pool.
I'm mountain guide and video-maker, during summer I spend most of the time in the region for the excursions in the Apuans Alps or the Appennino mountains, with trekking, speleologic, canyoning and mountain bike excursions.
At the of the season in Tuscany (late autumn) normally I go in Himalaya region for trekking and mountains expeditions or I travel for making some good videos.

Why they chose this property

Me and my wife Monica decided to buy this old barn and restore it because it position is wonderful, first of all the property has a great panorama of the valley and the mountains, than the nearby medieval village of Sillico in one of the most beautiful of he area with many active traditions connected to the history and the local food (chestnuts, cheese, porcini mushrooms, farro, etc).
The sunset from here is wonderful with the Apuan Alps skyline, the same mountains at the sunrise are the fist to be kisses by the sun light.
The road to Sillico is deep in the chestnuts forest and end 2 km after the village, so it is very quite.
This is aperfect place to relax and feel thenature around but not far from the main village of the valley (Castelnuovo di Garfagnana ), 8 km far.

What makes this property unique

The sound of the bells of the sheep who are graze in the fields surrounding the property at the sunset is the perfect soundtrack at the prosecco aperitif you can enjoy at the relax area of the villa.
