Great location walkable to Seoul station. Host was wonderful. The place was beautifully decorated and had a lot of character and charm. Not right for everyone as the stairs are very steep but it was perfect for us.
Great location, central to everything. Host was very accommodating and communicative. Gorgeous home! Highly recommend going to Namsan Deli for lunch next door!

Great location and apartment. Host was very helpful
Pros: clean, modern, well-stocked, beautiful bathroom, AC worked well, close to restaurants and the subway, excellent communication with the owner, fast WIFI Cons: very steep stairs to the bedroom, second sleeping area is more of a crawl space but it was fine for our teen We loved our stay and would definitely recommend this place!
I just have to say, our host was absolutely wonderful! We had quite a bit of luggage with us, and since there was this steep hill to climb, they kindly picked us up from the train station and drove us right to the apartment. Can you believe it? It’s only a short 5-minute walk, but they were so thoughtful! The apartment itself is so charming and cozy, really capturing that authentic Korean vibe. It was spotless and super comfortable—just perfect! I’m definitely planning to come back the next time I’m in Korea. Plus, it’s super convenient being so close to a metro station!
Loved our stay. Clean, communicative, and let us in a bit early when we ended up there sooner than expected. Be aware of the neighborhood which is old style and a bit out of the way.
If you leave Seoul Station at Exit 10 this place is 6 minutes up the hill. We traveled N S E and W from Seoul Station so we were grateful to be so close.
A really beautiful space with traditional architecture. The cozy space is very well utilised and has style. A great area with coffee shops, restaurants and bars all in easy walking distance. Very convenient for Seoul Station just down the hill. The stairs are steep and the mattress is firm, but if these things suit you it will be a fantastic stay. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer as originally planned. Sunny is a great host, communicative and accomodating. Would recommended to anyone!
I was there to visit my son who is stationed at Osan AFB. The location of the place could not have been better!! A quick walk got us to Seoul Station and from there we could access anywhere! As far as the accommodation, it definitely appears larger than what it is. But otherwise everything was great! The hondorus cafe right next door is a gem!!
First of all Seoul is amazing. Sunny's place was perfect for my wife and I. Fair warning about the steep steps to bedroom. Very efficient and interesting space. The location is ideal for seeing a lot of the city. Buses and trains are very close. Embrace mass transit if you visit. Don’t mis Namsan Park. And the Path Roasters on the corner was a god send. I would atay here again.
This wonderful property was the centerpiece of my recent stay for the month of July. The interior is an gem of traditional Korean architecture.
A great place to come home to after a busy day and prepare an evening mail. Neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful.
Location is also great, a short walk to the Seoul Station. From there you can get to many places in the city within minutes on the fast, safe and affordable subway.
Owners are wonderful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was excellent.
Miss the apartment and Seoul already!
We had a wonderful time staying at this unique property. It was a pleasure to meet the owner and hear about his background as an architect, which is clearly reflected in the property's design. The location near Seoul Station is a significant plus, as is the neighborhood's accessibility to shops and restaurants. We also appreciated the quick responses to our inquiries from Sunny, the property manager. However, there are areas that could be improved, such as addressing the sewage smell, which may be beyond the owner's control. Additionally, it would be helpful to have outdoor lighting, as it gets quite dark at night when navigating the steep stairs.

Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
2nd bedroom isn't suitable
Advertised as 2-bedroom. We paid additional for the third adult. The 2nd bedroom is a converted crawl or storage space, unsuitable for anyone. Space is so small, unable to stand up. There are many safety issues due to the "bedroom" being accessed via a trapdoor on the bottom staircase landing. No possible escape route through the cellar/bedroom 4" windows. Very dark/damp/musty. There is bubble wrap on all of the windows throughout the house for insulation. We couldn't stay, host denied a refund.

I’m sorry that you missed read 2nd bedroom is very small and low ceiling I even wrote a size. Because of that other things are negative and bad it’s not right and also you checked out without saying.
I’ve been running 9 yrs as a host I have only 5* reviews as you can see.
We really enjoyed our stay, the location was very close to Seoul Station, coffee shops, and convenience stores. We didn’t venture into the neighborhood for any dining as we had plans in other parts of Seoul for dining on most nights, but we did see quite a few restaurants and take away places nearby. The kitchen is on the main floor (there are a few steep steps to enter the flat,) the kitchen is cute and well equipped, and an extra bonus is the washer/dryer combo built into the kitchen island. There is no lounge/living room in the flat, but there is a small dinette set in the kitchen to sit at. The bedroom is located on the second floor, it’s spacious and comfortable, the bathroom is also located on this floor, directly off the bedroom. Note that the stairs to get to the bedroom/bathroom are quite steep, we had no issues using them at all, but it may not work for someone with knee or mobility issues. The interior of the flat is designed with lovely aesthetics so it felt very cozy, it was definitely a nice “home away from home.” Host was very kind and was really wonderful at communicating with us.
Can't say enough good things about this place. It's authentic, rustic, clean, charming, and super conveniently located.
The owner was very welcoming and conducted a thorough walk-thru when we arrived, showing us how everything worked. The washer was very quick, and the owner even provides detergent.
More than anything else, though, I really enjoyed the unusual bed. It's a thinner style mattress resting on a marble topped bed frame. I'd never experienced this kind of firm bed before and I've never slept better in my life. I'm looking into getting a firmer bed the minute I get home.
The place is 6 minutes walk from Seoul Station, there's a killer 7-11 literally within feet of the apartment, and with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants at your doorstep.
Can't wait to come back for longer!
As the owners states explicitly, it is really best for two people, which are familiar with each other (you need to cross the bedroom to enter the bathroom, the third room is really just for sleeping, you need to open a hatch before entering the 3rd room, which creates a hole before a steep ladder) Ok, we were a family of three. Overall, the place is original indeed and will last in our memory, as the style is different to what we are used to. Me, who slept in in third room missed a couch or a ‘Fatboy’ - I think that would be nice for two only as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay which lasted 10 days. We were most of the day outside yet have done our cooking ourselves. The kitchen is fine as long you are fine with two cooking zones (we missed egg cups and the plug of the sink very much). Washing machineworks well. Location itself is great close to Seoul Station (10 minutes walk exit 10 or exit 11) with a huge Lotte shopping mall. Huge range of restaurants nearby, however most close very early, it is a business region. Hilton is around the corner and Seoul tower in 30+ minutes walking distance.
All in all, if you read carefully the owner notes, check if this is ok with you. If you agree you will find an adventurous, enjoyable place. In doubt ask before booking, each of the owner’s family is extremely helpful. If you do so, you will enjoy your stay.
By the way you can watch this youtube video to get an impression: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6c0P8-gJFQ at the beginning and from min 2,25 onwards you see the flat
We loved the easy proximity to the subway, the property is clever in its use of space and had all the modern conveniences. Sunny and Young are wonderful hosts and we greatly appreciated assistance getting cab reserved to and from the airport.
The property can be tricky to navigate (outdoor and indoor steps) if you are someone with hip or knee arthritis and the bed is "stiffer" than we were accustomed to. But for the price and location its wonderful!
There is soon to be a cafe just 15 feet from the front door (it was nearly completed in construction) makes me want to go back in 6 months to try it out!
This was a wonderful way for us to make our first visit to South Korea.

Our very first visit to Seoul / Korea was fantastic - the experience was made better with this
Our very first visit to Seoul / Korea was fantastic - the experience was made better with this little gem of an apartment in the middle of the city. The apartment was just like the pictures....plus some. Sunny (one of the owners) was especially good in making contact with us soon after we landed at the airport to make sure we could find the place. Once we got off the subway, we input the address into google maps and walked up the hill from Seoul Station (exit 10) to find Sunny. Overall, it was fairly easy to find. Our favorite part of the apartment was all the amenities and the central location. Having just visited Japan, we were a little concerned about the size of the apartment, but no worries there. The master bedroom was big with beautiful windows and an attached bathroom/shower. You're going to love the bathroom! It was also helpful that Sunny was fluent in English (she used to live in NYC) and could give us some pointers in getting around and navigating the city. The location was awesome- close to restaurants and an outdoor market. . As well, if you want to schedule a tour through either Trip Advisor or Viator, you can have the tour bus pick you up at nearby Hilton Hotel. This was super easy to arrange. Bottom line, book this apartment during your visit to Seoul. It has tons of character and will enrich your experience of this amazing city. Note....if you are a bigger person (over 225 American lbs) and a little out of shape, you may find this apartment and location a little challenging. The stairs in the apartment are very vertical and the area boasts a number of hills. My partner and I are both in good shape (@50 yo and less @ 200lbs) and we did not have any problems. Enjoy!!

About the host
Hosted by Sunny LEE
l lived in New York for seven years with my husband, who studied at Pratt Institute. During that time, I ran a beauty salon on 2nd Avenue and 38th Street.
After returning to Korea, I worked for five years as a marketing brand manager and director at Unilever Korea and LG Household & Health Care. Later, I became an art dealer and had the privilege of working with world-renowned galleries in New York, London, and Düsseldorf — introducing blue-chip artists to the Korean art scene.
Through those years, I traveled to many cities around the world and stayed in some truly inspiring Airbnb homes. Those experiences shaped my idea of what a “special stay” can feel like.
Since 2015, I’ve been hosting three unique and thoughtfully designed spaces of my own. I look forward to welcoming guests who appreciate meaningful design, warmth, and a touch of art in the spaces they stay.
