Our cottage is located in the heart of downtown Natchez but sits at the end of a very private gravel road surrounded by five acres of property. The inside is modern with all of the conveniences to make your stay comfortable. There is a large open air deck that wraps around the entire side and back of the cottage for outside relaxing. You are in walking distance to restaurants, shops, and antebellum homes.

We are a 'somewhat' retired couple that enjoys walking, gardening, dogs, woodworking, and grandchildren.
Britton Gammill purchased this cottage in 1994
It is like living in the country but it is actually located in the heart of Natchez.
It is a very private, inviting setting and you can watch deer and other animals while relaxing on the deck in the evening.
We arrived from the United Kingdom for a week at the Chicken Coop. The house is immaculate and Britton and Jimmy are great hosts. Natchez is a lovely town to visit and we enjoyed our week sight seeing in the area. The weather was fantastic and we can thoroughly recommend a stay in the Chicken Coop. Thanks once again to you both. Lesley, Hugh Margaret and Guy.
We hope you both enjoy your cruise. Best wishes.
This was our second visit to The Chicken Coop. Another delightful stay in such a quaint and well kept cottage. Always quiet and relaxing, a perfect get away. We especially enjoyed watching the deer in the yard. Britton and Jimmy are perfect hosts, and we hope to visit their charming cottage again soon.
charming and peaceful, the only thing I would have changed would have been to have ceiling fans on the front porch.
The home was clean and very comfortable. Decorated beautifully! Britton is a wonderful person to work with when booking. She had a ton of info for us about Natchez. And left us the most wonderful homemade treats! And on arrival she had made us a pitcher of lemonade that was cold in the fridge.
Would definitely recommend!
This was our second visit to the Chicken Coop and it was every bit as delightful as the first. The house was immaculately clean, comfortable, and handsomely decorated and there was an abundance of cookies and lemonade. Although the house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac with abundant greenery all around, giving it a rural feel, it is just a few blocks from historic downtown Natchez. Britton and Jimmy are the perfect hosts. We didn’t even consider staying anywhere else on our return trip to Natchez.
Our stay at The Chicken Coop could not have been more perfect, unless we had had a few more days to stay :)
The home was so comfortable, clean, and cutely decorated and the Gammills were such welcoming hosts. They checked on us enough that
we felt cared for but left us alone enough that we didn't feel smothered. They were great help with eating recommendations, info about the area, and just
delightful people to talk to. It was well appointed with coffee, homemade treats, any toiletries we might have forgotten, comfortable beds, reading material about the area, and it was clean enough to eat off the floors. My only concern about writing this review is that when we are able to go back, we won't be able to get a reservation because so many others will discover it!
Thanks ever so much to Britton and Jimmy!
