About Nikki Luffingham
Having fallen in love with Italy- the country and people- many many years ago and more recently Puglia, we decided to fulfil a lifetime ambition and move to the area and 'live the dream'. A whole career spent in the front line health service industry both clinically & managerially, has given us the life time skills in providing the best service we possibly can - something we are passionate to move across to ensuring your precious holiday time remains just that. Our families are grown up now but we remember well what constitutes good family holidays as well as time for the grown ups. We are the average family enjoying what you enjoy on holiday- happy children, fresh air, exercise, good simple food and of course good wine with a smattering of beach and culture thrown in. Perfect? Come and enjoy that in Puglia.
Nikki Luffingham purchased this Villa in 2003
Why Nikki Luffingham chose Locorotondo
Why Villa Silvana? By staying in the accommodation, you help us sustain the environment by creating employment to enable people to remain in our local village and continue with their traditional way of life, which is getting more and more unusual as modern life begins to encroach on southern Italy. During your stay you will experience traditional village life, plus Puglian cooking, the possibility of enjoying our Local festa's and Sagra's, we will be on hand to host you in the true Puglian style. Our property manager is a local girl as are our chef our housekeeping staff and our tour guide Also you will notice where attention to detail is evident in every single part of the residence. Huge passion and effort has been put into this beautiful house. We have just had a complete refurb to include new build rooms all done by our local builder to our exacting standards. We now have 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms - 5 ensuite so much more luxurious but still a comfortable home rather than off putting This is not just a business or a holiday home, you can see and feel the passion and the romance of this stunning country and beautiful region of Puglia, when you come to stay. We want to share it with others and most importantly we have tried very hard to meet the high standards of quality you deserve and we really want to guarantee you a great holiday

Gloriously spacious and immaculately presented, this wonderful house is ideally located in the heart of Puglia, Located just a few kilometres from the historics villages of Fasano, Cisternino and Locorotondo, offering a wealth of culture, history and traditional Italian hospitality at your fingertips. Villa Silvana truly has a prime position , literally in the centre of all the interesting tourist attractions provide so much to enjoy, art lovers can discover original art work both in the villa and around the neighbouring towns and villages, gourmets can taste fresh puglian food bought to their tables by the local chef or in the surrounding baroque and antique centre’s and sip excellent fresh home made wine on their private verandas looking out to sea or taste other delicious Puglia wines in the local “enoteca’s”, sportsmen can enjoy activities such as cycling in the hills, fishing and golf and all can relax in our beautiful Villa. New this year by popular feedback is a 'take away' menu (as well as the usual chef services) by our chef who will deliver fresh cooked meals to you to reheat. Plus we learnt that some of our multi-generational guests would have liked to peel away and have a bit of culture away from the grandchildren so this year we have 'tours by Pina' again pretty much made to measure. She will drive you, educate you, feed you and take you to various aunties to watch and buy pasta/focaccia. Lots of packages available or made to measure. Lots of new experiences plus our tried and tested ones - so go on give us the challenge and we will do our best
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Ideal for a family group of 14. Eight adults and six children aged 2 to 16. Plenty of room for us all, table outside with ample seating.
Although the pool is not heated it was an ideal temperature.
A wonderful place for a family get together, with family coming from different sides of the world. The pool was wonderful and many happy times were enjoyed there by all the 7 children. Wonderful top terrace for evening drinks with wonderful views. Enza was very good and sorted out any queries
GREAT FAMILY HOLIDAY
we travel to Italy a lot for our holidays and every year all four brothers get together to organize a large family holiday. Of all the villas we've stayed in, This is the best. We felt so at home and so comfortable and there was a lot of us. we had the chef on more than one occasion, the food quality for the price is unbelievable and delicious. there's tons to do in the area and as we were such a big group the owners went out of their way every day to help us book excursions and restaurants. the pool was huge and such fun and the views are mind blowing. loved It.
Perfect stay for a Family Reunion
We recently stayed at Villa Silvana for a family reunion with 13 family members from all over the US. We had a great time. The villa is beautiful with plenty of room for everyone. It’s so large we were even able to host a BBQ with all 13 of us plus another 10 or so family members who live in the area. The Puglia is a beautiful part of Italy and there’s so much to do all with very easy day trips of the villa. I’d recommend this house to anyone.
What can I say, the property was fantastic and the pool was brilliant with a super view over the cost more then enough room for our party of 12
The kids loved it and we felt safe letting them loose on the grounds wich are BIG
Sue and her family were great gave us all the space but were always there for help and advice
All and all brilliant and look forward to our next visit next summer
The perfect villa for a group of families
We spent a week in the luxurious Villa Silvana with 2 other families; there were 6 adults and 8 children in total and we all had a fantastic time without exception. Michael and Sue were very helpful and it is obvious that they have put an awful lot of thought and hard work into making the villa as well equipped and comfortable as possible. The pool area was particularly well used and the views out to the coast are amazing. We had the chef come in and cook for us twice which was well worth doing - she also made lasagna for all the kids on those nights and showed us how to make orecchiette pasta - everything was delicious.
I would highly recommend the property to anyone that wants to spend some time exploring Puglia whilst enjoying some luxury accommodation and we will almost certainly return.
Thanks Michael and Sue for all your help in ensuring our stay was a memorable one.
Villa Silvana is in a prime position, literally in the centre of all the interesting tourist attraction, in the centre of Puglia and endless beaches, Mediterranean climate and exquisite cuisine. Puglia, has a landscape that is dripping with History from roman times onwards which is evident in its extraordinary array of architecture. The Normans endowed Puglia with splendidly ornate cathedrals and the baroque exuberance of some towns are testament to the Spanish legacy. But if there is one symbol of Puglia that stands out it's the imposing castles and mystical Trulli that are built all over the province.
Here the tourist industry still remains wonderfully primitive, which is amazing considering how much this region has to offer.
The Fasano / Lamia di Olimpia area
Villa Silvana's apartments are ideally situated for exploring Puglia's beautiful architecture, wonderful tourist attractions and the interior landscapes.
Art lovers can discover original art work both in the villa and around the neighbouring towns and villages, gourmets can taste fresh puglian food bought to their tables by the local chef or in the surrounding baroque and antique centre’s and sip excellent fresh home made wine on their private verandas looking out to sea or taste other delicious Puglia wines in the local “enoteca’s”, sportsmen can enjoy activities such as cycling in the hills, fishing and golf and all can relax in our beautiful Villa
There is an abundance of delightful towns all within close proximity to Villa Silvana. They all have an authentic Italian feel with year round street festa's, weekly market days and charming old centers dating back hundreds of years.
Only a few kilometers, down the hill, is Fasano, a beautiful ancient town which was subject to the Knights of Malta for many years. The hills (Selva di fasano) are a naturally wooded area rich in oak trees and perfect for stunning country walks.
A few kilometers drive into the interior are the towns of Ostuni, Martina Franca, Cisternino, Locorotondo and Alberobello.
Ostuni is an exquisite town known as the 'White City' because of its white washed streets surrounded by medieval walls, a visit is highly recommended. Martina Franca is a town with a tangible Moorish flavour, it has a medieval center adorned with some of the most subtle examples of baroque architecture that you'll find.
Cisternino and Locorotondo are both small charming towns, with whitewashed historic centers both obviously influenced by the Greeks. Also you can view the Valle d'itria from here, where some of puglias prettiest landscapes can be seen.
Of course the Trulli have always been an important tourist attraction for Puglia, their intrinsic beauty has capture the heart and soul of many. Alberobello is also only a short drive from the apartments, there is over a thousand of these magical limestone dwellings, standing out against the bright blue sky, they create a beautiful exotic scene, almost like a fairy tale, it is impossible to see anything like it, anywhere else in the world.
Also just a few kilometers away is the zoo-safari Fasanolandia. This is the greatest animal park in Italy, where 1000's of animals can be observed, kept free, in a completely protected area. There is also a dolphinarium and an amusement park for all ages.
If you are a lover of long leisurely lunches and relaxing dinners, where the wine flows, the food just keeps coming and the bill is surprisingly cheap, then you’ll be glad to know that the Restaurants, Trattoria’s, Osteria’s, Pizzeria’s, bars and cafes in Puglia are not only incredibly reasonable, but well renowned for their freshness and taste. The food, its preparation and consumption is the focal point of Italian life, so when you eat out in any establishment you will never feel like you’ve eaten merely to refuel but rather to experience a sensory delight. We can recommend some fantastic restaurants, some even within walking distance.
Whether you want the latest Gucci designs, antiques or just a good rummage around a local market, there is something for everyone in Puglia. Because of Villa Silvana’s prime location, strutting your stuff in Passegiata with the locals or being seen to be seen and enjoying the shops, is easy, as the apartments are near many of these small towns, that come alive at night.
There are many markets on in the surrounding villages that we can recommend
