Little to be desired...
My overall impression of the property was that it leaves little to be desired. Our family stayed for 7 nights, and at the end of the trip we were just grateful that at the least we got a good nights rest, thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and the town of Sag Harbor. First off, this is not a “vacation” property, it is the full time residence of a family and as such is greatly cluttered, including evidence of their family cat. The master bedroom has absolutely zero privacy, as the door doesn’t even close, the blinds do not work properly and the bathroom window is exposed to the front yard/street, and the A/C unit blows directly into your face/head because the vents are broken. Furthermore, many of the owners personal items occupied drawers/closets/shelves throughout the home and the telephone and answering machine were left on during our stay, waking us up from mid-day naps. The pool and beach toys were old, filthy and literally fell apart upon use. On the flip side, the owners were very responsive concerning a major issue we had during our stay (freezer suddenly stopped working) and seemed very nice people, the neighborhood was also quiet and safe. For the rate they are charging, I expected much more and feel the home is in dire need of some TLC and If the owners would invest in several minor repairs, as well as sprucing up the amenities, it would greatly enhance the renters experience.
