We stayed here for my daughter’s graduation weekend at NMU which was only 20 minutes away. The house was perfect for my family and had everything we needed. We loved everything about it and will definitely stay here again.
Our stay was incredible. Our hosts went above and beyond providing everything we could possibly need. We made wonderful memories sitting around the table playing games from the game closet. Everything was so clean and beds were amazingly comfortable. The Yalmar House is such a special place. The location is convenient for visiting all our favorite things in and around Marquette. We highly recommend staying here!
Responsive and welcoming host, fully stocked amenities, and roomy and clean rooms with attractive decorating throughout. A lovely renovation of a grand old farmhouse.
What a stunning property! It was impeccably clean, utterly charming, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating and considerate. They even left out fresh lilacs and a "Happy Birthday" card for my arrival. They also provided everything we needed to start a bonfire. I was in heaven watching the stars with a s'more during my stay. The central air conditioning wasn't very powerful, but we slept with the bedroom window open at night and kept fans running, which made for a comfortable night's sleep. Plus, the beds and pillows were very comfortable! There is laundry on-site, though we didn't need to use it.This is a very well-stocked home, and you can tell how much care and pride the family takes in its upkeep. There are so many vintage details throughout the home. We especially loved the upstairs doorknobs!Dreaming of a return visit and will be recommending this venue to family and friends.
Lovely restored house and property. It was very well stocked and very clean. It worked great for my large family. The hosts were great to work with. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.
The house was absolutely lovely. You could see how much work was put into this home. The owners thought of everything. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay their again in the future.
Our family very much enjoyed our stay. The house is well equipped and comfortable with all of the modern conveniences and the feel of home. We appreciated the comfortable beds, surplus of linens, AC units and fans. We would highly recommend this rental; it's exactly as it is listed.
We had a great time at the Yalmar House! The house was very clean and the views were beautiful. It was plenty of space for our large group. The house temperature was nice and cool for the summer weather. We will definitely be back!
The house was great. Perfect little country house with nice yard and fire pit. Quiet and peaceful with a little general store within walking distance. Only 15 minutes to downtown Marquette. We will be back!
Beautiful renovation. The house had everything we needed. Great outdoor area with corn hole game. Nice that it was close to beaches and bike trails. Thank you
This property is great for a big group of people. Plenty of room for all, games, stocked kitchenware, clothesline, washer and dryer.. about everything you could need. Highland recommend.
Wish we would have discovered this gem of a property a couple years ago when my son transferred to NMU. While 12 miles outside of Marquette, the peacefulness of the location was perfect. It worked perfectly for our family to stay together while in town for NMU’s graduation.
Great house, very comfortable, excellent restoration. We had an awesome time. There was an area-wide power outage the first night, hosts were very caring and responsive in that unexpected situation. We hope to stay again!
We enjoyed and appreciated our stay at the renovated farm house. The house is welcoming and has a charming character. Everything was clean and neat, and we had all that we needed. We had a little trouble getting in to the house initially, and our host was quick to respond, and we soon got in. The surrounding area is quiet and the field and trees in the backyard is lovely.
Skandia A Gem! A charming and comfortable home. Nice job on the renovations. We loved the tastefulinterior decorations, many hooks for towels and clothes, choice of drip coffee maker or pods, laundry room Comfortable beds, nightstands & reading lights on both sides of each bed, appreciated the ceilings fans in all of the bedrooms, soft cotton sheets, assortment of pillows . The fire pit and outdoor games were inviting.
