I was in Indy on family business, and needed a quiet room for a week. Bruce's basement apartment fit the bill perfectly. Air conditioned, full amenities for light cooking, a soft bed, spacious 3/4 bathroom, comfy living room couch, and well-maintained outdoor space.Easy 1/2- mile walk to Broad Ripple Village restaurants, shopping, and the Monon Trail.Bruce is an excellent host who accommodated all of my needs and made me feel welcomed back to my hometown - while giving me space to deal with family. He's a nice, interesting guy with a great backstory.

When I booked this property, the listing described it as “Entire Home – Apartment with great location and off-street parking in the heart of Broad Ripple.” It has since been updated, but at the time, I wasn’t aware that it was actually a basement apartment in the host’s home. That said, when we arrived, the host kindly met us and explained the setup, which wasn’t a problem for us.While one previous review mentioned a basement smell, we didn’t notice that at all. Occasionally we could hear footsteps from above, but since we were out most of the day and back late, it didn’t really affect us.The host was very friendly, helpful, and responsive to any questions we had. The main reason for the 4-star rating is the bedroom setup: one room had doors, but the second sleeping area was more of an open space with a partial divider and no door, located right next to the bathroom. This made it difficult for the person sleeping there when others needed to use the bathroom during the night. I think it would be more accurate to list that space as an open sleeping area rather than a full bedroom.Overall, a decent stay with a great host—just a few listing details that could be clearer for future guests.

It’s not an apartment. The VRBO owner lives upstairs and u rent the basement- that smells like a basement. You hear everything upstairs, their conversations, the walking. They use the basement as a barbershop- those pics weren’t shown. Had we had known first hand it was the basement and the owner lived upstairs never would have rented. Gave 2 stars for location to everything and his communication if we needed anything. My husband wanted out the first night in and I said it’s already paid for so…

Comfortable Apartment with a Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at this cute basement apartment. All of the furniture and appliances were like new and everything was very clean. Our host was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us. Easy walking distance to Broad Ripple Ave and the Monon Trail. We will stay again.

Great Stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Bruce's property. He was friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. Easy access to the Monan Trail and walking distance to many restaurants. Highly recommend.

Exactly what we needed!

We stayed at this property while visiting a local university for parents weekend, and it is just what we needed. Exactly as written in the listing, very clean, wonderful neighborhood and easy parking (which can be a challenge in Indy!) Great location that is walkable to wonderful Broad Ripple. Bruce was very accommodating letting us an an extra day last minute as well. Thank you for opening your home to us!!!

Great Space and Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is excellent - walking distance to a ton of great restaurants. The space was clean and had everything we needed. Only caveat is the listing said it was a two bedroom apartment, but the second "bedroom" is just a bed in the living room, which should absolutely be called out in the listing. Didn't bother us too much, but would've been nice to know. Loved the landscaping around the house and the numerous bumblebees.

Host Bruce was fantastic and super helpful during the entire stay. Beds are comfortable and plenty of room to move around the unit. Loved the art work outside which was perfect for photos. Will definitely come back.

An awesome host in a great neighborhood

Bruce was so welcoming and the rooms were great. We enjoyed the local restaurants and public transport into downtown is only a couple blocks away. I'd definitely book again next time in the area!

Great for a weekend stay

This property was so cute inside and out. The art on the garage and the outside flower area were gorgeous. Inside felt very homey and was very clean. Bathroom had a care package with extra toiletries we might've forgotten. Communication with host was quick and easy. Would absolutely stay here again when traveling to Indy. Thank you!

Nice neighborhood and property

Three of us stayed for Memorial weekend. The property is located in a very nice neighborhood that is close (walking distance) to restaurants and bars. Nice clean place with everything you need for your stay.

Great weekend!

My sister and I were in town to see a show for for the weekend and this place was perfect - walking distance to great restaurants and cute neighborhood, easy driving to other places we were headed. Property owner Bruce was responsive and helpful. Would definitely come back!
