My family and I had a very enjoyable time here. The views from the kitchen and living room really showcased the lake and the beautiful fall foliage. The highlight for my children was the game room which included some heated ping pong battles. The highlight for my wife and I was being able to relax on the dock.

Thank you, Mark, for your kind review. Your family was a delight to meet. Your children have impeccable manners and were very respectful. I was very impressed by how you left the property. It seemed as though no one had occupied the home. Thank you once again for choosing us for your mini vacation. We hope you return for a longer stay! Best Wishes! Donna
The host Donna is wonderful, great communication and super nice. We love that the house is equipped with accessible features as my dad is not mobile. Beautiful setting, perfect place to stay in Brown County. Can't wait to visit again!

Perfect Lake Getaway! This lake home is absolutely beautiful — high-end yet warm and inviting. The fall colors of the trees around the lake were stunning – postcard-like views. We spent hours watching the leaves drift down and relaxing by the cozy fireplace in the evenings. The kitchen is a dream for anyone who loves to cook — fully outfitted with everything you could need, plus a fantastic wine and coffee bar that made mornings and evenings even better. You can tell the owners put real care into every detail. We didn’t want to leave and are already planning our next visit!

Thank you, Thomas, for your wonderful review. Your words painted a picture of this season, this place, and the amenities. We hope to see you again! Many thanks, Donna
Thank you, Donna for working with us to book the days we had available. Donna and Fred clearly put so much thought and effort into this beautiful house, and the setting was amazing. The house worked for my husband and I, but it could easily accommodate a larger group because of the flexible sleeping area, and large kitchen and dining area. Our time by the lake was just what we needed!
This was the perfect location for a retreat with out-of-state family. Beautiful home and lovely views. A great place for the entire family. Donna and Fred were excellent hosts. Hopefully we can plan a visit again for next year.

The property was absolutely gorgeous. The view of the lake with the beautiful fall colors was stunning. I so appreciate Donna working with me on scheduling this. She and Fred were perfect hosts.

Beautiful view of the lake! This was a perfect home for a multigenerational family gathering. Plenty of space and lots of amenities to enjoy. From family games to kayaks and paddle boats we had something for everyone to enjoy. The owners were easy to work with, and thought of everything to make our stay special.

Thank you so much Craig for your great review! We really enjoyed hosting your family and how appreciative you were for everything. The family members we got to meet were so gracious and nice. Hope to see you again someday. Donna
The house was beautifully designed, spotless, and well-equipped. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable and relaxing retreat. The surroundings were peaceful and the views of the lake through the trees were wonderful, especially at sunset! Donna and Fred were great hosts – great communication and very helpful with suggestions of nearby activities. They even took us for a spin around the lake on their pontoon boat! Thanks Donna and Fred, we hope to return.
Donna& Fred have thought of everything you will need in their showcase, lakeside home. Gourmet kitchen was delightful and the home offers plenty of space to spread out. Owners were extremely attentive and onsite for every need.

Thank you so much for your review! We really enjoyed meeting you and your family. You were wonderful guests! Hope to meet with you again sometime😍Donna
The house was beautiful and well equipped. We all enjoyed the assorted watercraft available for use. The ping pong table was a hit with us. The property owners, Fred & Donna, stayed in their lake house next door during our week, and were available for pontoon boat rides and other incidental requests we made. If you're looking for a quiet lake for a relaxing family vacation, this is an excellent choice.

Hi Roy , Kathy and family! Thank you for your kind review. We really enjoyed getting to know and your adult children and their significant others! You were outstanding guests and we sincerely hope that you will return someday! Thanks again! All the best ! Donna and Fred
The house was beautiful! Fred and Donna were the best hosts!!! Lots of water toys and all the amenities we needed. My only concern to the future renters is the house is not a true 5 bedroom. Three actual bedrooms and the rest were pull out couches in 2 sleeping areas within the main living space. Overall we had a great time!!!

Thank you for your kind comments. One family lived on the East Coast and the other came from the West and picked our luxury vacation rental as it was in between and was lakefront. This was their first trip ever to Indiana! They took advantage of many Indiana attractions and couldn't believe the low traffic volume everywhere they went. They loved our Hoosier Hospitality, highlighted on and around our lake. Everyone waved to all. They were fascinated by our Sycamore Trees that are referenced in the song " Back Home Again in Indiana" sung every year just before the start of the Indianapolis 500-mile Race. They commented about the space in our home to spread out and enjoy quiet peaceful spaces. They celebrated two young guests' birthdays while here and had two guests' Senior Pictures Professionally taken amidst beautiful scenic areas on the property. We enjoyed all of you and hope to see you again someday. Donna and Fred
This lakeside vacation rental had everything we could ask, and more. The hosts, who live next door, were quite cordial and provided extras for water activities that would probably not be found at some other places.
Five stars, with two caveats:
1. Be very certain to obtain and understand the lease agreement before making payment. This property is located within an HOA that has certain restrictions on occupancy.
2. Although the property is rented with sleeping arrangements for 18, there are only three bedrooms accommodating 8. The rest of the sleeping arrangements are on large queen sized beds in foldout sofas, which should be kept in mind.

Thank you for your five-star review! We are always happy to go that extra mile for our guests so they may have a memorable vacation. We bought extra water toys a fishing pole and a brand new firepit in your honor along with smore makings in your welcome basket. You were a lovely family we enjoyed hosting.
Fred and Donna are true gems. They really have thought of everything a family would need to enjoy their house. It was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Our family gathering of 14 people found ample space to stretch out including a dining table that would accommodate all of us at meal times. There were watercraft available for our use and our wonderful hosts even took us out on their pontoon several times. Our daughter who is in a wheelchair could easily maneuver through the majority of the property and take part in all the fun including fishing and swimming. There are also plenty of fun activities in the area as well, including canoe trips on the Big Blue river and a fantastic public shooting range just a few miles away. Thank you Fred and Donna. You really made us feel like family.

You are very welcome! We loved meeting your multigenerational family. You were all so nice and very personable. Your family reunion was clearly very endearing for all of you. This was very special to us as the wheelchair bound child was able to enjoy all lake activities even paddle boarding while sitting down! We will always remember you! Thank you again, Donna and Fred
The hosts literally ROBBED US OF MONEY. When we showed up, they gave us a 16 page document and said it was on the website, but it wasn't. While we were there, the hosts walked in and out of the rental without any notice. They said we didn't have access to portions of the rental, including the dock/lake access, which is obviously why we chose this rental. They yelled at us and said we were trespassing, even though we paid thousands of dollars for this rental.
If you are looking for a fun day at the lake, stay anywhere but here!

This guest should never be allowed to rent from a vacation rental site again. His college group caused over $1500 in damage to the property. He had the opportunity to view the lease agreement on April 21st, 2024, on the VRBO website. It is preposterous that we walked in on them without notice. We have 5 outdoor HD 24/7-night vision cameras recording all activities coming and going outside. These recordings included damaging our drive, using a hose on the upper deck leaving the knob turned on below resulting in a $250 water bill. The cameras recorded all 35 College students running in and out of the property late at night including unauthorized midnight swimming without lights at the dock. The agreement was signed on August 2nd, 2024, and listed 16 names ONLY not 35. He misrepresented his intentions. He put all of these young people at great risk without the benefit of adult supervision. It is untrue that we denied access to portions of the rental including dock/lake usage. We own a home adjacent to the rental that is our PERSONAL property, including two piers, a boathouse, a 120’ cement patio, and multiple watercraft. After Logan checked out my housekeeper and I discovered more damage. Two high-end microsuede couches were stained with dark red fluid and encrusted with food. Throw rugs were covered in mud, and throw pillows were ripped open and stained. The sink was filled with food scraps. Dishes were put away dirty. I found evidence of bodily fluids sprayed on bathroom floor walls and toilet tissue (black light viewing). Multiple lake neighbors asked about the party noise after midnight and if underage drinking was going on. All photographic evidence and damage estimates have been provided to VRBO and the Insurance company. This unauthorized event (forbidden by house rules) at our vacation rental posed a significant risk to our property, reputation, and legal standing. The parents of these students were completely unaware of the danger their children were placed in by the leader of this study group.
First, Fred and Donna are true gems. Donna was awesome to communicate and went out of her way to address any questions before our arrival. We have stayed at many of these type of properties but this is by far the cleanest place ever. Donna very aware of those with allergies and she cleans meticulously.
They were very gracious to take my family on 2 boat rides. Fred and Donna were generous with their time. They have made a beautiful home to share with others.
My father is in a wheelchair and they thought of everything. The house, porches and even dock and pontoon are wheelchair accessible. My father and I used to fish all the time. Because of their accommodations we were able to get my dad to the water and for the first time in years he has caught a fish.
It was a wonderful vacation for our family to be away from hustle and bustle.
Fred and Donna are 2 new friends and we hope to visit again
In full disclosure, I did not thoroughly read the contract as I assumed it would be similar to the many other VRBO rentals I have used in the past. This was my error.
The owner required copies of driver’s licenses of all adults who were staying at the home, which felt intrusive and possibly discriminatory.
I had also assumed (incorrectly) that the owner would communicate with me via email and then leave me instructions in the home. However, this owner met me at the house and gave me a 20 minute tour while the other guests had to wait outside. She pointed out many details of the house, how much time and effort she put into the building and design of the house and reviewed some of the rules. I figured though this wasn’t what I was used to the information would be useful.
Then she told me she would be staying next-door (50 feet away) for the entire length of our visit. This set us off on the wrong foot as my family felt like we were being watched and monitored the entire time. She asked to take a photo of my family even though I repeatedly declined. She also approached me when I was sunbathing in my bikini and asked to take my photo several times which I was not comfortable with. Several times when we went down the stairs to the dock the owner would yell out corrections to us or make suggestions. Some of these were helpful and some of them were pointing out that we were breaking the rules of the detailed contract. For example, the kids were fishing on the wrong side of the dock. That was definitely our error.
The home and setting is beautiful, but because of the incredibly restrictive details of the contract and the hovering presence of the owner I would not rent this house again. For example, I failed to read that we were not allowed to have friends visit during the day. I invited friends over for lunch which I now know was against the contract. The owner ran out and yelled at my friends and asked who they were. When they said they were my friends she said they were trespassing and they would have to leave by 5 o’clock. The owner then took a photo of my friend’s license plate and sent it to VRBO.
I went back and re-read the reviews of this home. They are all five star. However, in each response by the owner it is very clear that the owners of the rental enjoy mingling and socializing with the guests of the home. This was not what I expected and not

We have worked very hard to become a VRBO Premier Host and have received multiple five star reviews. We have loved hosting multiple families from all over the USA. Our guests have truly given us cherished and wonderful memories. This traveler unfortunately hosted an unauthorized event at our home. She invited two carloads of unregistered guests to our property. She allowed them access to our home, lake, storage units and use of our personal watercraft without our knowledge or permission. VRBO community forum speaks of this problem and notes that about 5% of all rentals are willing to break house rules or contracts without regard or respect of owners. We will continue to be attentive hosts and help make our guests experience a vacation to remember. We wish always to provide a generosity of spirit, characterized by warm kindness and courtesy.
Our hosts, Donna and Fred could not have been more attentive, especially to our little great-granddaughters. The house was beautiful and generously stocked for all our needs. The Bedrooms could have been better described as private or non-private, but for our close family, it all worked out. Our entire family (all four generations) had a great time enjoying the lake and the pontoon rides. Thank you Donna and Fred for helping us make wonderful memories on this vacation.

Vikki, your multiple generations family should be on a tutorial on how to blend love, creativity, fun, and camaraderie! Your Children, Grandchildren, and precious Great Grandchidren are welccome back anytime.
The place was immaculate and could accommodate larger groups easily. The House is on the lake with easy access to swim, float, etc. the lake is peaceful and quiet. Donna and Fred were so nice to meet and get to know. They took us on a lot of boat rides and let us use their pedal kayak to explore the lake. Everything was great! I would come here again for sure.

Phil and family are very special people. They were so gracious to us and expressed many times how grateful they were to stay at our home. They left the home in pristine condition and even helped carry the bedding and towels down to the laundry area. Phil and Leslie are gourmet cooks and unitized in full our gourmet kitchen. It was fun to hear their plans for their nightly meals. We shared recipes and wonderful conversation while social distancing. We hope they will stay again. Bon Appetite! Donna and Fred
Absolutely beautiful home, impeccable condition. Fred and Donna provided everything needed, and then some. The outdoor space is as beautifully maintained as the house inside. The lake was enjoyed by all of us, whether swimming, or boating in the generously shared kayak, canoe, and other water toys. We had an immune compromised child and owners were extra respectful of the situation. Everything about the house was amazing, and it accurately sleeps the number of people represented. However, it might be helpful to know in planning that only 3 of the sleeping spaces were private bedrooms. In summary amazing, house, amazing, trip, wonderful hosts, we would definitely stay here again!
